I agree with you. I am not saying he did not have Aspergers. I am just saying that if so, it was not his main problem and his only disorder. Generally, Aspies are not violent and premeditated in their rage and vengeance, from what I have been told. JMO

I totally agree with you...he "might" have aspergers...but I believe there are some other diagnoses going on...OR there were other problems that were undiagnosed.

Ok, I can't get this out of my mind! WHERE is the "custodian"?????? We hear that he (or she). Ran through the halls telling teachers to lock thier doors. In another post earlier or an article somewhere someone said the janitor yelled "put down the gun". In an article one teacher said the janitor stayed outside her door because she could not lock it, tho they were in another part of the building. We know that one of the wounded in the hospital is the person who came crawling back into the office but the way I understood it there were TWO wounded in hospital. Why would this be something they would hide? Is it possible the janitor was shot and wounded by LE as they entered the school and they just don't want that made public?

Sorry if there is an easy answer for this, I have been keeping up pretty good and have just not heard anything more about this.

He already went to college at 16 and got decent grades. How is that he couldn't function at college, when he already functioned at college, and at a younger age than anybody else there? He also got a driver's license at 18, which I believe is pretty close to an average age of getting a driver's license.

His inability to function at college would not have been related to his IQ. The renowned autism expert Tony Atwood is fond of putting it this way: “Autism is anxiety looking for a target.” Autism and anxiety go hand-in-hand. Autism affects a person’s ability to communicate with others or to understand the world around him, and that’s bound to cause anxiety and panic sometimes.

Autism anxiety overload becomes even worse when there is a change in the autistic person’s routine.

Axxx was clearly not mentally healthy. Add to this the stress of moving and change of environment and he would experience intense anxiety=meltdown.

Didn't he get a C in one class and drop out of another??

I think he had some people hoodwinked, including his mother.

Students without any mental problems get Cs day in and day out. And drop classes too. Point it, he already took college classes and did reasonably well. So his mother could very well have believed he would be able to go to college.

I've asked before but haven't seen an answer - did the school have video cameras?

LE said they haven't fired any shots. I am not sure why they would be hiding who the second wounded person is.
Maybe he/she has very serious injuries and family doesn't want name released?

But there are plenty of people with Asperger's that are quite successful and have great careers. Obviously they found a way to deal with anxiety.

Do we have any information as to why AL dropped out of college?

I don't understand what you mean by this. Could you please explain? Not being snarky, I really would like to know.

Nancy lied by omission (IMO) to her friends by not telling them the truth about Axxx. Nancy told neighbors that she was unable to handle Axxx anymore (paraphrased). Nancy was Axxx's primary caretaker and Axxx hadn't seen his dad in two years and hadn't lived with him in almost a decade. Nancy's only choice for the son that she couldn't manage was to place him in a residential facility. Because she had never told her friends how difficult Axxx was, she would logically have difficulty explaining why Axxx suddenly needed to be placed in a residential psych/developmental disability facility. IMO, she told them Axxx was going to be attending a "special school" when she really had to institutionalize him.

There are schools for people on the spectrum in CT, New Hampshire, New York, and Pennsylvania, but Nancy said Axxx was going to Washington state. This happens to be almost the farthest place in America away from her home. IMO, she choice this state because it was far away. She could tell her friends that Axxx wasn't able to come home frequently, but in reality, he couldn't leave the residential facility unless he had a short pass from his psychiatrist.

Here is a guess based on what we know.

I think Adam, and probably his mom, thought he would ace college courses. that didn't happen. It could very well be he his mental state was steadily going downhill or the events around that time helped in the deterioration or both. As time went on, it could have been becoming obvious to him and mom that it would be difficult for him to succeed in college.

Both survivors are women and are now home from the hospital after being shot, police said. Officials had previously mentioned just one adult survivor. The women have not been identified and police did not give details on their injuries..

Both adults, Vance said, were wounded in the "lower extremities," but did not indicate where in the building they were when they were injured.

I agree that people take and fail college courses and drop them all of the time. Some people don't care to drop classes or get a "C." Then there are people like me, who feel if they don't get an "A" it is the end of the world. A "C" to a person like me is totally unacceptable.

I think that he was a very smart person. Smarter than anyone who knew him gave him credit for!!

The key time frame here seems to be Dads marriage... Right???? This is the year the guns were bought, Adam became more recluse, not even going to get his regular hair cuts.. ect....ect.. maybe Adam thought they would get back together???

Obviously! They didn't murder their moms, children and school teachers.
Axxx clearly wasn't as functional as many other autistic individuals and/or he had other comorbid conditions that successful Aspies don't have.

I have wondered that also. I cannot imagine them not having video cameras with the other security feature. I assumed a visitor buzzed, and the secretary could see them on camera before letting them in. :waitasec:

Curious as to whether his brain showed any pathology at autopsy.

OR had mom met someone? Was she planning on getting married?
How would he handle that?

I know we have heard NOTHING, but if she was "spending time" with a man...
would he want to admit it? Publicly?

Did he live at home while taking these college courses? Did he commute by mom driving him or live on campus?
