Conway Presser - Fri., 2/6/09

I think he means everyone has a right to a presumption of innocence. He's not saying Casey IS innocent ... right?

It was his choice of words, IMO. Why bring the troops up at all? A very cheap and low shot, IMO. :furious: (don't think I've ever used that icon before but I am ticked!!!) Yes, the troops are fighting to protect my right to freedom of speech and I believe she is guilty as sin. And that is not disrespecting our troops! :furious::furious::furious::furious:

Did BC make any comment about money being made from Caylee's memorial service? Did anyone ask him about it?

  • #63
Tell me he didn't really say that- you're kidding, right? Please say you're kidding!

He did indeed say that and he has said it before. I totally agree with him that under OUR constitution, Casey A is presumed innocent until proven guilty. I was not aware that our troops are fighting in Iraq, where we have said we want to bring democracy to the Iraqi people, to preserve the rights of CA to be presumed innocent. I don't equate my nephew and countless others and respect to them with the shiftless liar Casey.

Ya know, I should send Conway my nephews (both of them) email addresses and have him suggest to them that their Aunt over here in Georgia is disrespecting them because I don't presume CA to be innocent. I would welcome he go on a presser to give details of their reaction to that....grrrrr...:furious:

Our heroic soldiers and her name should not be in the same sentence- disgraceful!!!!!:furious:

BeanE I didn't hear any mention of money being made from the memorial sevice.

  • #66
He just said the press hasn't been hounding the A's, which is good. He has issued press releases and can issue more about the details of the memorial service. Why have a presser? He just seems to want to be out there talking. Lamenting the lack of privacy for the A's in talking to Casey. No shift in the A position as to Casey's guilt. If we don't presume Casey innocent we are disrespecting our troops in Iraq. Okay. Enough for me.
This can be moved to the rant thread. I am going to have to take BC onto the spinalcord unit where I have lived for the past 14 yrs. with disabled men & women who would have alot to say to him. That comment did not have to bring in the subject of wounded vets. If you watch one human being injured in their first year of rehab to just survive they would tell you their struggles are not for a woman sitting in jail for the murder of her daughter. Yes they do fight for our right for a fair and just trial but not for the under the table type of law. You would think being differently abled he would use a better chice of words.

Believe me, Conway and thru him the Anthony's are still spouting KCs innocence and from what he says you can tell they are trying to protect her as much as possible. Also, Cindy put that bracelet in the socks, not Jose. They don't give a darn that KC killed their beloved Caylee. It really stinks.

I want this trial over and I want that KC in the crummiest, rottenest, smelliest prison they can find! This case makes my blood boil. This memoria is a farce.

Thank you, Jackson. Awfully odd nobody mentioned it.

  • #69
He probably needs to convene the press to beg them to leave him and his clients in privacy.

sort of like chuming the ocean and telling the sharks to go away.....

Oh...I missed the bracelet part...

ARGH...why is BC speaking on Casey's behalf..."she's innocent"...what?? I guess he represents her now too?

If they're having this memorial for the family to have "closure"...but the body's not been released to "her family"..."home"...then help me understand how that brings about closure?

IMO, it will bring about something, but not "closure"...

ETA: just saw the info about the bracelet...so now they (really CA cause she was the only one at home to give JB clothes)...CA didn't know that she couldn't send the bracelet to Casey but she just decided to hide it in her sock??? Just sayin....

God bless the atty's in Flordia...one pro bono does them all...!!! He puts himself everywhere and anywhere....

Yes everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty under our constitution. He made it sound as if one had an opinion as to Casey's guilt they were dishonoring our troops. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

Not exact words, sorry, but basically just that JB was being blamed for that and that he shouldn't be because it was the family that put the bracelet in the clothing. He said they didn't realize that they couldn't do that and that they did it because they just wanted her to know they love and support her. (something to that effect, anyway)

Hmm, and they hid it in the sock because that's how you would typically give someone a bracelet? Riiiiiight.

ITA - this is just insanity...I can't believe he had the audacity to refer to others making a circus out of this???

G-d bless our troops, but I just find referencing them so inappropriate.

WHY oh WHY do these defense lawyers must always deflect attention away from the real issues at hand??!!

First---Baez plays the race card in his presser (remember "I am the first Hispanic lawyer to have a case of this magnitude"---paraphrasing this)

Now--Conway and his "the troops fighting for our American constitutional rights........Casey is innocent before proven guilty"----etc etc!)

Don't get me wrong, I love this country and have a pocket copy of the Constitution (just like NG lol) but why bring this up in a presser that's supposed to be about CAYLEE'S MEMORIAL? It really makes me mad that he had to refer to the troops in this presser!! :furious:

JMO.....

Exactly...I thought the same thing...what a poor choice of words. I can't believe he even referenced our troops...IMO, they would be disgusted if they'd heard his comment.

An important aspect he left out was...that our troops fought for Caylee's rights, but her mother didn't think she deserved them, IMO. If he had stated that first...then there's no way he could've let that poor choice of words roll out of his mouth!

ok...i think i need to go visit the rant thread...
