So much confusion and so much misinformation even though China has been sharing their experience with this virus since January.
WHHHHHHHYYYYYYYY!!!!

It's most likely because there is mixed information regarding contagion in the absence of symptoms.

LOL !

I went to the grocery store today and there was a guy --I'd say early 20's--with his cart half full of boxes of them!

They do say "disaster foods" shouldn't all be dull!! :D The NYC bag ban has been stopping, read: "infuriating" me from going out shopping, as I continually fail to pack one and remember only when I'm running down the street; but I'm gonna go out to the discount store soon and see if I can find any.

New York Warns Televangelist Jim Bakker Over Virus Cure Claims

New York’s top law enforcement officer told televangelist Jim Bakker to stop making misleading claims about a product’s effectiveness as a treatment for coronavirus, saying there is no specific medicine available to prevent or cure the disease.

State Attorney General Letitia James sent a letter to Bakker earlier this week, noting that a guest on his February 12 show touted a dietary supplement called Silver Solution, which is sold on the show’s website. The guest said the product hadn’t been tested on the current coronavirus but had been found to eliminate similar viruses within 12 hours.

Silver Solution costs $300 for a dozen 16-ounce bottles.

Instead of taking that expensive product and getting a possible heavy metal poisoning from too much of it, I think I will stick to my Elderberry :)

(Reuters) - U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper said on Thursday he expected the Pentagon to be able to keep carrying out its core functions in the event of a coronavirus outbreak at the massive military headquarters, where 22,000 people work every day.

"We have a lot of capabilities in this building. Our National Military Command Center has the capability to go for weeks at a time if they have to be locked down inside the building if we have some type of outbreak," Esper told a news conference.

"So, we're fully confident that we can continue to perform the functions that the Pentagon needs to perform if we have some type of outbreak in the building."

I'm having mixed emotions right now. My son (who is actually 14 but I have repeatedly said is 15 due to what I am calling coronavirus-research-induced senility) is scheduled to compete in the Florida state thespian competition in Tampa. He just got home and they were told there is a possibility that the competition will be cancelled.

He received superior ratings at the district level in 3 areas (solo vocal, duet vocal, duet acting) which is the maximum number you are allowed to compete in. He is a freshman in high school so this is his first year competing. He has worked so hard and has been looking forward to this since he was notified of his district ratings. As a mom, my heart is sad for him if he doesn't get the chance to compete. Also as a mom, I know his safety is much more important.

2nd probable case of COVID-19 in Quebec confirmed in Laurentians

He started showing symptoms in the town of Mont-Laurier, located about 200 kilometres north-west of Montreal in Quebec's Laurentians region.

On Wednesday night, he was transferred to Montreal's Jewish General Hospital, one of four facilities in the province set to accommodate patients with the virus.

He was admitted and is currently in quarantine at the hospital.

Officials say they're working to find more specific information about places the man visited while abroad.

The new presumptive case comes after a woman, who travelled from Iran to Qatar before arriving at the Montreal airport, was confirmed to have the virus last Friday.

Quebec public health said the risk is still considered low in the province.

Several dozen East Carolina University students and staff have started a self-quarantine after returning from Italy on Wednesday. The university shut down their program in Certaldo, Italy earlier this week because of concern for the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
