I don't know why the CDC wants people to have two weeks of water on hand? FYI Your water heater has 20-40 gallons of clean potable drinking water.

They should tell you to have a full tank of gasoline. They should tell you to have some cash on hand.

I am not scared of getting sick, but I have deep concerns about infrastructure impairment, sick and quarantined truckers, firemen, healthcare workers, police, bus drivers... We could have shortages, looting, lockdowns and curfews. I expect all the major population centers will eventually have an outbreak. JMO

About to start.. just started. Sally is negative today, David is positive today. (Both were positive yesterday)

Geez are they flip flopping back and forth with their results?

Did he ever discuss medical bills and if the UK government is paying everything?

Sorry I’m going to have to skip a million posts for now. I tried, I really did.

Just had family return from Italy, landed in Atlanta. They had their temperatures taken in Rome before boarding, but nothing upon arrival home. Not even a single question about where they had traveled in Italy. Nada. #coronavirus

Did you try TrueValue/ACE/similar hardware store? Maybe people won't be onto them yet. :) I myself got a bumper crop from Costco/Amazon the last time there were sales, but those are currently tense areas to try to locate the same.

Good tip about hardware stores and the like. I found some masks about a week ago at the local hardware store. I will have to start to think outside the box like that for supplies now.

Ohio to use ‘disease detectives’ if coronavirus spreads into state

Acton described the work of these disease detectives as taking a “very elaborate, very detailed look” at everyone with whom a person may have come into contact, including contact made in public spaces like malls and movie theatres.

“That is the information we will always share with people who came into contact,” Acton said. “You will know if you came into contact with someone, and we will also let you know if there was some general exposure, some place like a movie theatre.”

Germany's Morgenpost is reporting that, based on figures from the health minister, the number of coronavirus cases has risen to 545, which would be a sharp increase from 400 about 9 hours ago. No official confirmation so far.

Geez are they flip flopping back and forth with their results?

Did he ever discuss medical bills and if the UK government is paying everything?

Yes, he discuss its it often. He says that he has great insurance through his insurer from the United Kingdom. He travels a lot and it covers everything. Folks in the beginning wanted to offer him money to cover it and he said no and then explain to such.

At one point he said he had princess or someone else covering also, but he has since gone back to insurance discussions so I'm not sure of the specifics. Just what I heard.

flip-flopping, yes. He has stated in many of his last YouTube's that the test is only 70% accurate. That is why they need to have multiple tasks

I was looking at the Rest Of The World/cases outside China chart on the Johns Hopkins map portal earlier, and yes...I would say in 40 days the US could easily have 250,000 to a million cases. The potential seems to be there.

They say that Washtington state could have 600 to 1500 cases right now. I think it's possible that the rest of the US also has that many. With a 5-day doubling rate that gives 3000-6000-12000-24000-48000-96000-202,000-404,000-808,000 for a simple 40-day projection. What happens in terms of actions taken by cities, states, and individuals could bring that down. Alternatively, the Johns Hopkins chart for non-China cases seems at the moment to be showing a 4-day doubling rate, so the 500,000 to a million cases after 8 weeks could be realistic. But hopefully actions taken during this time can keep that number to the lower predictions?

One thing that's going to help to reduce the doubling rate and the R0 is going to be more in depth testing, especially for patients entering and admitted into hospital. Getting infected patients into isolation/quarantine areas will hopefully reduce infection rates in healthcare staff and other sick patients, and reducing the cases spread to already sick and vulnerable patients in hospitals will help to keep the death rates down.

Yes, a 4 day doubling rate.
Testing kits will have a great effect once testing begins en masse.

I just landed at JFK after reporting on #coronavirus in Milan and Lombardy —the epicenter of Italy’s outbreak— for
@vicenews
. I walked right through US customs. They didn’t ask me where in Italy I went or if I came into contact with sick people. They didn’t ask me anything.

I wish I knew exact dates to compare if I looked it up I could I guess, but the two sisters that came back from Italy and flu and a Tampa call the CDC from New York City when they had a plane change. The CDC told them to fly on. They also came back positive after they had landed
