I wish I shared his optimism. I think this monster coronavirus could be around a long time.

I think he is going with his theory , that if he says it , it must be true! SMDH

The article (below) reminds us to wash our hands for 20 seconds.

In kindergarten, my daughter was taught to sing the alphabet while washing her hands.

Of course, it took way too long because there were many pauses for her to remember which letter came next. My husband and I had to come up with something exciting (even more than the alphabet!) to time the hand washing!...

Local media reports have suggested singing "Happy Birthday" as you wash your hands.

A friend of mine is currently hospitalized and being tested in Indiana. Has to wait for the results from the CDC. He is extremely ill and has diabetes that causes him constant issues as it is. I’m very worried about him.

I hope whatever the test result is, he recovers. He's in the hospital and receiving attention, which is good. Smooth recovery to him.

Royal Caribbean taking temperature of all cruise passengers before setting sail

Royal Caribbean announced Thursday it will start taking the temperatures of all passengers getting on board its cruise ships and then conduct secondary screenings, if necessary, to ensure no one possibly sick from the coronavirus sets sail.

The new change, implemented Friday, impacts Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas ships, both of which make stops in Port Canaveral.

Royal Caribbean said the temperatures of passengers will be taken with a digital, no-touch thermometer.

If a guest’s temperature is above 100.4°F (38° C), the passenger and their party will undergo a secondary health screening, according to the cruise line.

Royal Caribbean said here’s what will happen during the secondary screening:
  • Your temperature will be checked again.
  • You’ll undergo a pulse oximetry reading. This means a device will be placed on your finger to measure your oxygen level.
  • If you happen to have a chronic lung illness, like asthma, please bring a letter from your medical practitioner that indicates your normal baseline oxygen saturation levels. This will help ensure you are not denied boarding if you are healthy otherwise.
  • Then, a medical professional will check you for flu-like symptoms, respiratory illness, etc..., and would make a final assessment to understand if you’re fit to sail.
“If it is decided that we must unfortunately deny you boarding, you’ll receive a 100% future cruise credit for your cruise fare paid, and any precruise Royal Caribbean International purchases and taxes and fees will be refunded to your original form of payment,” the company said in a news release.

None of that helps if someone's incubating it, or if they are one of the ones who don't have a particularly high fever during the course of the illness?

Do you know if it was travel related? Curious to know more since I live in central Indiana. I’ve been expecting cases to pop up here, but Indians has been quiet in comparison to several other states in regards to how many they are monitoring, testing, etc,...

I keep trying to type my response to this but it has too many curse words and a lot of yelling and tears.
Not responding is harder than not touching your face, imo.

CNBC editor Rick Santelli says the world would be better off if we 'gave everyone coronavirus' to 'get it over' and stop wreaking havoc on the financial markets

CNBC editor Rick Santelli says we should we 'give everyone coronavirus' | Daily Mail Online

"But maybe we’d be just better off if we gave it to everybody, and then in a month it would be over because the mortality rate of this probably isn’t going to be any different if we did it that way than the long-term picture"

The ignorance of these people in power positions is tragic. This is the chit that my friends and others are viewing and believing, not considering the impact to the overwhelmed hospital systems etc. LOWER the peak of the curve is so basic.

President Trump says he "may go" to the CDC

President Trump said today that he actually may still go to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after the trip was canceled.

Trump said the visit was canceled because of a potential case of coronavirus.

“We may go — they thought there was a problem with CDC with somebody who had the virus,” he said, adding that the person in question has been tested and it came back negative.

“I may be going,” he added.

Agreed!!! Please, by all means, let's start with this moron............... IF he survives, MAYBE he'll change his tune....... living proof that having an education, a high powered position and/or money does not equate to common sense or intelligence.

I’m glad to see the president visiting Tennessee. There were 24 people killed including 5 children under 13. There are countless homes destroyed. He’s dressed casually, that’s what previous administrations have done when visiting disaster areas.

Yes, travel. He said he was recently on 3 airplanes, although he didn’t say where from.
