I’ve done that while backpacking a couple times. It’s not that bad.:D
Reminds me of my friend at summer camp who used poison ivy.

Be careful out there, folks. :)

(yes, that was probably OT)

I would clean like a "spring cleaning style" to not only clean surfaces but to freshen up the place, which always feels good after someone has been sick at home, and wash all the household linens too. I'd keep the windows open as much as possible to get a cross-breeze going, again to freshen up. I think that would be enough, tbh.

Excellent advice IMO. These are the basic tenets of Florence Nightingale. Disinfect surfaces and throw open windows.

"SINGAPORE - On top of washing their hands and disinfecting surfaces, people need to switch off the air-conditioner, turn on the fan and get fresh air to reduce the chances of getting infected by the novel coronavirus.

The reason is that while many unknowns remain about the virus, earlier studies have shown that viruses thrive better in cool, dry climates."
Coronavirus: Turn off air-conditioners and open windows to reduce risk of being infected, say experts

Wow, some countries are coming out with hybrid systems to ventilate and cool/heat.
"In health facilities where there is a high concentration of infectious patients, evidence shows that poorly ventilated buildings have higher risks of infectious disease transmission for patients, workers, and visitors. "

I have zero restraint when it comes to these kinds of things. If I go somewhere that doesn’t have sanitizer, that needs it, I’m going to say something about it.
@margarita25 LOL, you get 'em! Good on you.

LOL, one article talks about antibacterial soaps and the other talks about 60% and greater alcohol based hand sanitizer.

What are they doing over there? Spitting in each other’s mouths?
I am sure not. Whatever this bug is, it appears to be highly virulent!

Me too! :p:D And I needed a laugh today!

To add one more funny thing I heard about to help lighten the mood about this sad virus news.

Saw someone else mention what they were going to do to help protect themselves.

They said they were going to hook up a ShopVac Vacuum hose to a Gas Mask, and turn it on reverse, so that he can create a Negative Pressure Environment around his head. :D

I took a short nap and woke to find it's really getting closer to my neighborhood.

3rd coronavirus case confirmed in NJ — now in Camden County

The new coronavirus is now in Camden County.

State officials on Friday afternoon confirmed that the state's third presumptive positive case of the coronavirus disease of 2019, or COVID-19, was of a 60-something man who has been hospitalized since March 3. They did not give an exact location.

I just heard of a confirmed case in Lexington,ky.Only 15 miles from where I live.It really concerns me because I have health issues that would make it difficult to fight it off.

Mr. Sandman (risk communication for businesses) rips the feds a new one here.

Quick Risk Communication Notes on CDC's February 29 COVID-19 Presser: "Absence of evidence" portrayed as "Evidence of Absence" (Peter Sandman site column)

At her presser on February 25, Nancy Messonnier did the best COVID-19 risk communication we have seen from a U.S. government official so far. (Tony Fauci of NIH has had some excellent moments as well.) Hours later, HHS Secretary Azar and President Trump took U.S. COVID-19 risk communication in a different direction, toward drastic over-reassurance and downplaying of the risk

and in the next sentence: Dr. Messonnier’s messaging today may be the best she is permitted.

It was not that long ago that an American federal agency was generally considered to be the best in the field. But it appears that many Americans did not like it that way...

That really scared me. That’s a young, healthy guy. I’m neither, I guess. Even though I work out a lot and don’t each much junk. But if I got that I’m pretty sure I’d be dead. My lungs couldn’t take it.
I feel the same way too.

"If people don't trust that the government is telling them the truth about the risk to themselves and their families, people start to make decisions that are not rational...that puts our medical system at greater risk," says a global biology policy expert.
Public Trust In Health Authorities Is Key To Fighting Coronavirus — Is It At Risk?
Well, they have recently lost my vote....
