I know I am joining this forum very late and probably asking annoying questions. Sorry! Supposed to fly into the Los Cabos airport in a few days and then stay a resort in San Jose Del Cabo. Would you worry about the cruise ship with coronavirus that stopped in Cabo? Grand Princess I think Feb 21. So 14 days are up, but are there many test kits in Cabo San Lucas? Would you worry about a resort in SJDC that is 50 minutes from the port in Cabo San Lucas?

I am youngish and healthy so hoping to still go!

We just canceled a planned trip to Turks & Caicos. There is no way I wanted to be stuck quarantined/away from my home in another country or worse become ill with other countries health care. American Airlines is allowing no penalty flight re-booked for a year from original travel date. I would wait.

Where do you get it, please? I’m going to the store in a few minutes, my neighbor just got the last two rolls of paper towels, lol, maybe they are stocking now.

Trudie, I was in the Georgetown (KY) Kroger today and saw "gummy" supplements that were immune-boost or something like that, with "elderberrry" in the title. I picked up a bottle from the same company that had more Vitamin C, FWIW. IMO

Ok, thank you, Trudie. So, them going to the doc did expose others. Which I guess is my point.

Ok, thank you, Trudie. So, them going to the doc did expose others. Which I guess is my point. Best to just stay home unless symptoms get to the point one can’t handle them at home. I’m a retired RN, and very independent, so, I’m totally good with staying at home. I do understand though, how lay persons wouldn’t know what to do, and some might not feel confident enough to care for themselves. They should do what they need to do.

BTW, I stocked up on Sambucol, aka Black Elderberry... which is known to shorten life of the flu. I know it helped me when I had a bad case a few years, and made me a believer.
Also read it is useful for the herpes virus, which to me really indicates it is truly an antiviral. So, I’m thinking it could also be useful against Corona. No guarantees of course, but surely can’t hurt.
Two doctors posted on the online newspaper Cynthiana Democrat FB that they are in isolation after treating patient/s. I linked previously, I’ll try to find it later.
Also their nurse/s are in isolation. Patients that were in the waiting room were contacted.

Any way to get it done asap and not wait? The sooner the better. I wouldn't skip the root canal though. good luck. tooth pain is not fun.

Cool, in the vitamin aisle?

I find it remarkable that Japan has only had 19 deaths! Very encouraging, especially as they had to deal with all of those sick patients on the Princess cruise ship!

Japan reports biggest one-day rise in coronavirus cases since January
From Reuters:

Japan had 59 new cases of coronavirus infection on Tuesday, the biggest one-day rise since the start of the outbreak, public broadcaster NHK said.

Total infections have risen to 1,278 cases, including 696 from the Diamond Princess cruise ship and 14 returnees on charter flights from China, according to NHK data.

One new infection was reported early on Wednesday, in the western prefecture of Hyogo.

Japan has now seen 19 deaths from the virus, including seven from the cruise ship, the public broadcaster said.

I have hoarded back elderberry syrup like some people have toilet paper!
Sambucol has gummies that also have zinc.
Gaia It’s a really good brand I think. They have a nighttime black elderberry syrup as well as regular syrup. But they are more expensive than Sambucol. You can get both on Amazon, at least you could last week.

thank you I just added them to my cart

It was actually the 19th......lol......please tell me that changes everything! Are they able to test in Cabo? Would we know if Corona cases? Officially the Baja California is still 0 cases.

I keep asking that because my mom tells me it's probably because of a lack of test kits.

Your Mom is right. :) The 14 day thing isn’t really the issue. Let’s say someone on the cruise infected someone in Cabo. Then five days later that person infected another person or two...and on it goes. The original date the cruise ship was there seems irrelevant for counting 14 days. Of course the same can be said for this country too. But considering the possibility of being stuck in another country under quarantine or infected, I’d rather face that on my home turf. Sorry. :(

This is our off year for winter travel and I'm soooo glad as we typically go away every other March. We were looking at a Condo for next winter and about to put a deposit down. That's on hold until we see what this all looks like. I think I can settle for winter with no get away if it means staying healthy and safe.

This country has a culture among many of “nobody is going to tell me what to do.” And they scoff at science and view those taking precautions as weak. I will sit on my hands but you know who they are.

yes, it's a very troubling attitude to have during an outbreak.

"Ms. Dorries, the first MP to test positive, said she had taken all the advised precautions after finding out, and had been self-isolating at home."

"Ms. Dorries, the MP for Mid Bedfordshire, said in a statement that Public Health England had started tracing people she had had contact with, and the department and her parliamentary office were closely following its advice."
