Nothing yet that I’ve heard, knock on wood.
If it gets to Mexico and we still have people crossing - it’s going to hit Texas FAST.

That's not quarantine. If she's infected and having contact with someone who is not quarantined, it could have devastating consequences.

In the case of a child’s parent, I would say they have their own right to choose. When we Canadians brought back children from Wuhan a parent who was here at home voluntarily went into quarantine to be with his child. I don’t see that as harming anyone.

MEXICO CITY (Border Report) — No one in Mexico has tested positive for the coronavirus, but one person remains under observation, Mexico’s health undersecretary said today.

“We have no cases of the new coronavirus. We had 11 suspected cases, but all (tested negative),” Undersecretary Hugo Lopez Gatell told reporters in Mexico City.

The health official said testing kits are being sent this week to health departments all over Mexico to ensure a quick response and containment. He told reporters it’s highly likely the virus that has killed hundreds of people in China will make its way to Mexico eventually.

Lopez Gatell said there are no restrictions on people flying to China from Mexico, but that all passengers arriving from China are being screened for symptoms.

Daily allergy meds that do not make me sleepy. I'm trying to stock up on what's necessary for me, as I do not know what is produced where.

Well, for anyone that wants to know...

After reading the article about the large theft of toilet paper in (Hong Kong?), I had to look up where most toilet paper is manufactured. To my relief, the TP capital is Wisconsin!!

Maybe not. But I personally don’t see it as this couple’s responsibility to manage other people’s kids potential thoughts.

The children’s parents can talk to their own kids about it in the way they feel is needed. Heaven knows I have to talk to my kids about other people’s behaviors all the time.

This couple in plastic wrap is obviously dealing with major anxiety. MOO.

Unfortunately many people have to fly for work (especially those of us that are contract) and not showing up means no pay.
:(

Right, but are both parents now each quarantining their individual households for the full time period?

It’s wonderful if they are, but I’m just going to be all Miss Judgeypants, and guess that they won’t. Mom was pretty clear that this whole thing is “ridiculous”. (ie- they are too special to get COVID-19, and too special to be inconvenienced)

My point is that if he picked her up in a car he is not in quarantine. She can’t go back and forth between a parent in and a parent out of quarantine. He clearly was not in, but the mother is.

Am I misunderstanding? Did the child not get called on because she was going in and out of quarantine?

ITA- my dh makes frequent trips to DC.
I hate it- :(It’s all good until someone on the plane has a fever -until he has a fever...

(that paycheck would then be the least of our worries...)

They must have been riddled with anxiety.
The inflatable giraffe costume had a calming peaceful affect,
compared to the makeshift plastic, for the observer.

I read an article that states in the US there is minimal risk. Then, I read another article that says there's not a way to contain the virus. Next up someone is not showing symptoms. Then, you guessed it, re-test shows the virus is present. So, which is it?
If it gets to Mexico and we still have people crossing - it’s going to hit Texas FAST.
or perhaps the other way around since the US landed an evacuation plane at Lackland.

Whistleblower doctors say coronavirus reinfection even deadlier

Chinese doctors say the illness could be even deadlier for patients who catch it again, according to a report.

The whistleblowing physicians working to fight the virus in Wuhan revealed medically-cleared patients have been getting reinfected, the Taiwan News reported.

“It’s highly possible to get infected a second time,” one of the doctors, who declined to be identified, told the outlet.

The physician said that medication used to treat the virus can have negative side effects on patients’ heart tissue, making them more susceptible to cardiac arrest.

“A few people recovered from the first time by their own immune system, but the meds [sic] they use are damaging their heart tissue, and when they get it the second time, the antibody doesn’t help but makes it worse, and they die a sudden death from heart failure,” the doctor said.

The doc added that the virus has “outsmarted all of us” since he says it’s able to hide symptoms for up to 24 days — which contradicts current guidance which says the incubation period is two weeks.

Ugh... Incubation period
has been one of my biggest concerns from day one.

In regards to being worse when reinfected... this is why I’m wondering about the virus going into a “dormant state”?
I really hope “recovered” is truly recovered.

I’m really concerned that there may be loads of people self-quarantining who do not understand what quarantine actually means - like that you can’t pop in and out of it and that no one else can pop in unless they are also going to quarantine for 14 days.

In and out of several major airports every month. I wear a mask and wash my hands like crazy plus wipe my seat/arm rest/etc whether on the plane or at the airport.

Get strange looks but I don’t care. I’m strange anyway.

I get anxiety if the WiFi is spotty on the plane and I can’t catch up with threads on here.

My biggest fear is the threat to all my elderly relatives and friends with compromised immune systems or health issues.
