Please do not insult my intelligence!! I don't think you understand the seriousness of this strain of particular disease. Just yesterday during a live press conference, there stood the Iranian Health Chief dripping in sweat, himself brushing off the dramatic quarantine proposals. It was blatantly clear to see he was ill from my sitting room.. he went off and tested positive himself. These are the world's health officials and everybody in that room will need to go into quarantine now. My point is, this is a first for everybody and the experts do not know everything there is to know about this mutated strain that is sweeping the world. If there was nothing to worry about, Covid-19 would be yesterday's news. Mark my words, this Deadly disease is major! X

Im sorry but that is a bit dramatic. SARS and Swine Flu were way worse than this and one even started IN North America.

Great info! The "34 Foods You Need..." article made me realize that I am completely clueless and need to just move in with the person who wrote it instead. :)

It would be the ultimate irony if quarantine made me finally look at all those exercise CD's I have.

O.K. Here's what scares me. All those photos of streets being sprayed. Has this ever happened with any epidemic before? People don't lick the streets or sniff them. Does this mean that if you walk on the street and then into your house, germs on your shoes will infect you? If you drive on the streets, do you need to disinfect your sidewalk? If this resembles a flu in many respects, why are the streets being sprayed with disinfectant? Moo

We had a pediatrician that was one of the oldest living women and who also helped develop the pertussis vaccine. She was adamant that shoes were filthy and that people were stepping in all kinds of bacteria and germs from off the streets etc. Of course this was a time when there were sidewalks. Men were more likely to spit on the ground as well. But I bet the surfaces of most shopping places are revolting. Stuff flies through the air with every flush. Then people track it on the floor of the store and to their cars.

Amazing what you can buy at the dollar tree store with $50. Went today, bought sanitizer, soap, 400 pair of disposable gloves, zip lock bags, and bunch of other stuff. Also $50. For 40 lb bag of dogfood for my German Shepherd.
Hubby just got home from out of town, mentioned the CDC warning to prepare, told him we were prepared.
Let's hope that this does not explode in the USA. We're in California.
“The spread in other countries has raised our level of concern and raised our level of expectation that we are going to have community spread here,” Messonnier said. “We’re asking folks in every sector as well as people within their families to start planning for this, because as we’ve seen from the recent countries that have had community spread, when it’s hit in those countries it has moved quite rapidly so we want to make sure that the American public is prepared.”

Here's an article about preparing for quarantine. Very prescient - it was written in 2017 and talks about Ebola !

How to Prep For a Quarantine - Preparedness Advice

CDC Dr. Nancy's comments today were enough to convince me the CDC is really thinking about and working through the issue.

Have I missed two pressers TODAY? I just listened to the WHO team leader, can someone post links for the other two I have missed today, thanks!

I would feel more prepared if I had lot more wine and about 60# of See's Candy

That’s why I got beer and ice cream the other day (but already ate the ice cream)

Added note to Mantra if infected... Sleep, No tylenol, no steroid, and no sugar/chocolate that prevents the ??? from crossing the ??? per Dr. Sch.... Got it, added to my list. Before then, I have pantry loaded with chocolate and sugar.
