Wow. 20 different vaccines going to trial phases. That is good news. Surely 1 or 2 of them or more will end up being successful as a vaccine.
Ive been impressed with how quickly the scientists are trying to get a vaccine. Once we have a vaccine, then it will help tremendously.
well there's no n95 masks anywhere here that I can find; people are buying out all the hand sanitizer too
but we did stock up on lots of canned/boxed food - no empty shelves of food here - and I got a bunch of stuff for my elderly parents
my dad is very weak already and we've been trying to get him stronger so that he doesn't have to go back into hospital - I don't want him exposed to any germs in hospital and I don't want to be exposed myself either since I'm immune-compromised
I feel like I didn't take this seriously enough early on when I could've gotten some proper masks

I married my now retired Banker wife many years ago...........She says this ^^^^^^ answer is the only correct one. Money is dirty stuff........moooooooney
I'm totally surprised a company hasn't kicked into high gear to produce masks and push them on the market. Seems like a money-making venture right now.Oh LL.
Your situation and others in a similar predicament,
this is what concern me atm, greatly. wrt masks
(Yeah NO COMMENT from me re: Cardi B. I had the misfortune of googling her music recently to see what all the “hype” was. I’m all about the women’s movement but gee whiz MOO - Garbage lyrics imo.)
(Not to sound like Tipper Gore)
Yeah we’ll all probably be “passing the tequila” soon I’m afraid.
I’m expecting California to have major issues moo. It’s crazy because I have been documenting and following the Wildfires threads meticulously here for years (and other CA issues, mudslides, Hepatitis A outbreak, etc.) and have often said every time a new devastating wildfire breaks out that “man, those guys in California just can’t seem to get a break”...
The good news is that their Governor imo has very encouraging statements re: their level of preparedness, etc., imo.

ETA: @MJPeony, pleeeease tell me you watched the FULL California Governor’s briefing yesterday after yoga. I hope your concerns re: testing, etc have been somewhat alleviated.
I welcome ANY innovation in vaccine production that would reduce the incidence of these viruses.I totally agree! Modern science and those who drive it are absolutely amazing these days.
IMO, I’m glad they are so optimistic about creating a vaccine in such a short period of time! Coronaviruses have been known to mutate rapidly, so I really believe this could be a race against time. Of course it could mutate in a way that makes it less deadly, or more likely to burn itself out. I’m hoping a viable vaccine becomes available before the virus has a chance to mutates as the odds may not end up in humanities favor.
I wouldn't expect Iran to be truthful for anything. At least 210 coronavirus patients have died in Iran - far more than officially admitted - Iranian health sources tell BBC

I do hope that now that VP Pence is in charge, we will be receiving regular updates about what is being done to prepare us nationally for this outbreak. I hope for specific information, such as hospital rooms being readied, etc. What is most disconcerting to me is silence from those in charge. Maybe we will get something from the upper levels today or tomorrow. This is not a criticism or political in any way. I just think the public needs regular information from those at the highest levels. MOO.
Thank you to not go there.....appreciate it!You know this is the guy that, when Governor, stated cigarettes don’t kill people ?
He does not give me confidence at all
I haven’t really thought about this, but given that I’ve had plenty of fives and ones go through the laundry accidentally and come out fine, why can’t it just be washed in little bags or something? Mine is usually in a jeans pocket when this happens. Never had an actual bill casualty.I dont have a link handy but I did see an article saying you could spray money bills with something like lysol and then let it dry. I am not sure how effective it would be but it sounds better than doing nothing to it.![]()
But, what about the money we get from a cashier? Should we refuse it until we can sterilize it?
