The overall goal of the Joint Mission was to rapidly inform national (China) and international planning on next steps in the response to the ongoing outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-191) and on next steps in readiness and preparedness for geographic areas not yet affected.
The major objectives of the Joint Mission were as follows:
• To enhance understanding of the evolving COVID-19 outbreak in China and the nature and impact of ongoing containment measures;
• To share knowledge on COVID-19 response and preparedness measures being implemented in countries affected by or at risk of importations of COVID-19;
• To generate recommendations for adjusting COVID-19 containment and response measures in China and internationally; and
• To establish priorities for a collaborative programme of work, research and development to address critical gaps in knowledge and response and readiness tools and activities.”

I went to a few stores this morning and when I got home, putting a few items in the fridge, I thought, "Who has been touching these items that I am simply tossing into my fridge (along with other items that I will be eating from/drinking from, etc??) How often do people think about this? Just something I thought of and wanted to share, also, dont forget to wipe off your cell phones! MOO

Procedure for opening Amazon delivery:

1. Blow airhorn to alert neighbors to immediately shelter indoors.

2. Don Hazmat suit, double glove.

3. As you spray Lysol, quickly open front door.

4. Blow airohorn again as final warning.

5. Approach box and assure no living creature, other than yourself, is within a 6 foot perimeter

6. Spray box with Lysol, then bleach. Wait 3 minutes.

7. Using a dull plastic disposable knife, carefully cut tape.

8. Open package lid away from you and using a hand mirror, peek into the contents.

9. If this is your order, pick up with barbeque tongs and spray with Lysol/bleach.

10. Wait 3 minutes.

11. Bring item indoors, LEAVE BOX ON PORCH and soak in the tub of bleach you have there for that purpose.

12. 2 quick toots on airhorn to alert neighbors coast is clear.

I never ate from the buffet meals when I went on cruises. Buffets equal virus city

DH and I never go to cruise ship buffets, either. We've actually stopped going to the main dining rooms, as well, and prefer to dine in casual onboard restaurants (i.e. pizzeria) or specialty dining venues (upcharge). Room service is always a good choice, as well. When in port, we almost always find a nice restaurant to enjoy local color and cuisine. Found a great new place in St. Thomas on our cruise last month (Navy Beach - fabulous seafood).

Since were talking about hand washing...I thought I’d add that it’s probably a good idea to remove any rings/bracelets. I just took my wed band off, as well as bracelets. Germs can linger on jewelry even with the best hand washing. NOT trying to cause panic here, just throwing it out there.

I wonder how much autonomy the US states will be given in the coming days/weeks regarding coronavirus. As opposed to having to follow Federal guidelines only. Will be interesting.

I work in a hospital in Northern CA. Today, management went through and took all boxes of masks except the open ones in our department. The hospital is packed! We have 330 licensed beds and 50 people admitted with no beds to put them in. I haven't heard of any Covid 19 pt's so I hope there's not an explosion of patients anytime soon. We cannot divert traffic right now , because the nearest hospital to us is in the same boat.

I was thinking about that the other day when I wore disposable rubber gloves (Nitrite brand) to the grocery store. I mainly wore them because I never have liked touching the handle of the cart anyway, so figured I would give it a test run with gloves.

It went really well and only 2 or 3 people even noticed I had them on. But to your point, that is what I thought about when I got home to put the food away. I almost put on another pair of gloves but just touched everything germs and all. LOL

I think next time I will put another pair of gloves on to unload the groceries in the home and maybe I will go so far as to rinse off items under the sink.

Im not as big of a germaphobe like Howie Mandell, but Im close. And that was before this virus news even hit. LOL

Shop Rite in my NJ town was far from stripped down this afternoon. Shelves were full as were those in Pet Value. Perhaps DM is exaggerating? Or focusing on specific areas?

I did take notice of the Virginia grocery store, location unnamed. We are experiencing high wind, snow in the mountains, and power outages in the Blue Ridge. Most in the southwestern part of state have stocked up due to potential power outages. I stocked up early this week and did not notice any shortages, except Wal-Mart is selling out of bleach.

Its very frustrating the folks that are ignoring the news and are totally unprepared. I feel, I must over prepare, many family members are in denial. Side note....Daughter couldn't believe the toilet paper, bleach, etc stockpile, today. She grabbed a few grocery bags and proceeded to shop, wasn't happy when she learned they were "emergency" supplies.

Just want to add that I went to Walmart in south San Antonio yesterday. There was plenty of hand sanitizer in several sizes. In fact, I bought antibacterial hand wipes, which I didn't have. Seems it all goes down to where you are right now.

LOL I was in Target today and I swear NOONE was using the disinfectant wipes nor were anyone wearing gloves or busting out the germex like me! I just looked at them and shook my head. I will always rather be over prepared than under. I hear ya!! Im so rinsing my fridge containers in bleach water from now on. LOL.

I can buy Everclear at the liquor store--it's 190 proof. I use it to make eggnog during the holidays. Strong stuff lol.
