I was talking to a friend about this the other day. I feel like I'm living in a different world compared to so many who are back to "normal" life.
Me too!!!!!!

French health minister is CHARGED with 'endangering the lives of others' amid Covid | Daily Mail Online
Former French health minister Agnes Buzyn was charged on Friday over her handling of the Covid-19 pandemic after investigators at a special court in Paris concluded there were grounds to prosecute her.
Buzyn has been charged with 'endangering the lives of others', the prosecutor of the Republic's Court of Justice said, but not for a second possible offence of 'failure to stop a disaster'.
The former doctor, who will be able to appeal the charge, arrived for a hearing at the court on Friday morning saying she welcomed 'an excellent opportunity for me to explain myself and to establish the truth.'
The 58-year-old added that she would not 'let the action of the government be discredited, or my action as a minister, when we did so much to prepare our country for a global health crisis that is still ongoing.'
The charges are a blow for President Emmanuel Macron, whose handling of the health crisis will face scrutiny during election campaigning next year, but the court also immediately faced allegations of judicial overreach.
NSW Police have slapped former Prime Minister Tony Abbott with a $500 fine after he was photographed maskless in Manly on Wednesday.
The infringement notice was issued after he was snapped chatting with a friend at the beach by a concerned bystander who promptly took photographs and reported him to police.
The woman made a statement to Manly police on Friday morning and also supplied photographs of the alleged breach.

Even on their death beds, some COVID-19 patients in Idaho still reject vaccination
Sat, September 11, 2021, 10:01
Although a number of patients do express regret that they have not received or sought out a vaccination, some even apologizing for it, according to nurse educator Monica Brower, others remain contentious, even after being on a ventilator and confronting the stark reality of their mortality.
"Don't tell me I have COVID. I don't believe in COVID," patients have told McFarlane, who teared up as she recounted combative patients.
"There is an almost adversarial tone to things when we ask, 'Did you get vaccinated?'" McFarlane said. "It creates a rift in the tone of the room, because it's a feeling of 'well you're going to treat me differently because I didn't get vaccinated,' and that is far from the truth."

In fact, said McFarlane, "It almost gets to a point where you read the tone in the room and you shy away from even asking about vaccination status, because you want to be able to focus on saving the person's life, not going into the politics behind the vaccine."
As more unvaccinated patients fill hospital beds, Luciani said it has become "really hard to maintain a level of hope."
"They stick to their guns," Luciani explained, and even on their death bed she's had to listen to people deny that they have the virus, while maintaining their fervent anti-vaccine sentiment. "In my mind, that life is essentially over as we know it. ... Some people just refuse. And it's kind of like a slap in the face."
That is so bizarre--I truly cannot understand why someone on their deathbed
would angrily deny it is covid that is killing them-_do you have any idea why
someone would reject the reality they have covid?

Well, I think that the med staff likely need to ask the question - as the answer could dictate what they need to do for the covid patient. Do they start administering monoclonal antibodies, do they place the patient under greater surveillance due to a higher risk of ending up in ICU, etc?
I think these are the people who would literally rather die than ever admit they are wrong - about anything. I know several people like this. No matter the evidence or the reality, they simply refuse to admit they are wrong or that they made a mistake. Ever. It's just who they are in general. That is so bizarre--I truly cannot understand why someone on their deathbed

Lewis County Health System Chief Executive Officer Gerald R. Cayer addresses local and regional news outlets at a press conference Friday afternoon in the Lewis County Board Room in Lowville. Mr. Cayer was announcing that the hospital's maternity department would be "paused" as of Sept. 25 as a result of 6 staff resignations to avoid the COVID-19 vaccination as required by a state Departmetn of Health regulation handed down by former Governor Andrew Cuomo at the end of August. LOWVILLE — The maternity department at the Lewis County Health System is the first casualty of staffing challenges made worse by health care workers prioritizing remaining unvaccinated for COVID-19 over their jobs with the hospital.
Because of a number of vacant positions in the department already, the resignations of six staff members this week combined with the looming possibility that seven other unvaccinated people in maternity may follow suit made it clear to the Health System’s leadership that they needed to hit “pause” on services provided by that department.
“We are unable to safely staff the service after Sept. 24. The number of resignations received leaves us no choice but to pause delivering babies at Lewis County General Hospital,” Chief Executive Officer Gerald R. Cayer said. “It is my hope that the (state) Department of Health will work with us in pausing the service rather than closing the maternity department.”
In addition to the maternity ward, there are five other departments whose services may be curtailed in some way if a significant number of staff members decide to leave their employment rather than be vaccinated for COVID-19.
The “pause” will begin on Sept. 25, two days before the final deadline for healthcare worker vaccination across the state for those who chose to continue their employment.
Mr. Cayer, who spoke at a news conference on Friday afternoon in the county board room, said 30 people have resigned from their health care roles since the vaccine was mandated on Aug. 23, 20 of whom worked in clinical positions like nurses, therapists and technicians, totalling 70% of the resignations so far.

So far, there is no indication that US citizens are going to be given an exemption from vaccination if they already have antibodies. I see no reason why incoming immigrants should be allowed to not get the vaccine if they have antibodies already.
Santa Rosa County, FL . . . one for every 49 people. A friend is having a huge (300 or so) party for her 60th tonight and is mad we won't come.
