If you don't want to engage in covid vaccine conversion with coworkers, just do what I do when I don't want to engage in any conversion that is either TMI or that I just don't care about/don't have time for. I start pecking away at my keyboard, squinting at the screen in concentration and mumbling about having so much on my plate/being behind. Eventually, they move away with their chatter. They know the drill.

"Her team of doctors said multiple times if she would have just come in sooner, they could have given her Regeneron or the monoclonal antibodies."

Michigan urgent care declined to test vaccinated woman for COVID who later died of the disease, daughter says

A Michigan woman is outraged after her mother died of the coronavirus, saying that a local urgent care center did not test her mother for the virus because she was already fully vaccinated.

Lisowski said her mother Marilyn Pfeifer followed coronavirus precautions and was fully vaccinated. But the 74-year-old began feeling ill in August with symptoms such as congestion, ear pain and a headache.

She was examined at Lakes Urgent Care in Livonia, but not tested for the virus, according to documents obtained by Lisowski. Her mother was instead diagnosed with a sinus infection.

"They screened her but she was vaccinated and so they didn’t feel the need," Teresa Lisowski, the daughter of the deceased woman, told Fox 2. "When I asked her, she said 'They didn’t test me because I am vaccinated.'"

Her symptoms progressed, according to her daughter, and she was rushed to a hospital just more than a week after her visit to urgent care. The hospital then diagnosed her with COVID.

Pfeifer’s lungs soon collapsed and she was put on a ventilator.

"Her team of doctors said multiple times if she would have just come in sooner, they could have given her Regeneron or the monoclonal antibodies," Lisowski said.

Lisowski added that she still hasn’t heard from the urgent care center about why her mother wasn’t tested.

Personal and private health information is a joke now. Everyone knows everything about your health status, vaccination status. And it is basically considered "normal" conversation to discuss vaccination status with others.

Anyone else find that strange?
It's downright disturbing.

“Everything”? No. No one knows anyone else’s health conditions or RXs, just vaccination status.

No different from knowing that, say, a member of the armed forces has been vaccinated against just about everything, or that a worker in a health care facility has documented immunity to tuberculosis.

If someone has a driver’s license, we know a few things about their health, such as no recent history of seizures. Heck, in many states, a driver’s license will disclose BMI (ie height and weight) as well as vision status.

Nearly five million people have died of this disease to date (and that's just the 'official' estimate)...

Coronavirus has killed at least 4,992,831 people since the outbreak emerged in China in December 2019, according to a new estimate.

A tally from official sources compiled by Agence France Presse at 11am on Sunday also showed at least 246,316,520 cases of coronavirus have been registered.

The vast majority have recovered, though some have continued to experience symptoms weeks or even months later.

The figures are based on daily reports provided by health authorities in each country.

The World Health Organization estimates that the pandemic’s overall toll could be two to three times higher than official records, due to the excess mortality that is directly and indirectly linked to Covid-19. A large number of the less severe or asymptomatic cases also remain undetected.

On Saturday, 6,238 new deaths and 399,027 new cases were recorded worldwide. The countries with the highest number of new deaths were Russia with 1,158, followed by India with 446 and Romania with 413.

The United States is the worst-affected country with 745,670 deaths from 45,953,780 cases, followed by Brazil with 607,694 deaths from 21,804,094 cases, India with 458,186 deaths from 34,273,300 cases, Mexico with 288,276 deaths from 3,805,765 cases, and Russia with 238,538 deaths from 8,513,790 cases.

Early on in the pandemic I think lots of people died before the virus was even recognized. Also people were turned away from the hospital and were told they had a cold- "go home"- they went home and died there.

What? health and vaccination status is normal water cooler conversation at work?
Not much to say after initial disclosure unless close contact? IDK

After our first safety meeting on a site it’s not mentioned again unless someone tests hot. Everyone has to be vaccinated and masked so we’re not chit chatting about who is or who isn’t.
No one looks at me funny when I sneeze multiple times or asks my health status.

Some states don’t even have a central vaccination portal that captures the people that got their shots at a pharmacy which is the major source of inoculation in some southern states. It’s not reported to your doctor either.
NC for example...

590 days of covid closure .... today our international border has opened!

A flight from Singapore was the first to touch down just before 5.30am, with a Qantas flight from Los Angeles in the US following half an hour after.
Fully-vaccinated travellers will no longer have to undergo any quarantine measures when arriving in New South Wales or Victoria from today.

Cheers as quarantine-free Qantas flight lands in Sydney

I didn't even have to show ID for my 2 shots, just give name and date of birth. They didn't ask for my doctor either. I could have been Jane Doe ... who would know? This is a pharmacy.

No one knows my medical information. If someone wants to gossip about John Doe's vaccinations I'm like "I'm tired of talking about this - so boring - let's talk about something else." And I simply quickly change the subject.

No one wants to be a bore !

Huh? There's no centralised system for medical records? Anyone could walk in there and get a jab whenever they want? I'm confused.

Well I gave my real name and real DOB but I could have made up a fake name and fake DOB because they didn't require any ID. I assume just my real name and DOB are out there in some "Centralized Covid Tracking System."

People want credit for getting vaccinated so people lying about their identity is not a big concern apparently.

There is no centralized medical/vaccination records in the US. Medical is all private with only your Hospital and Health Care Providers having your information.

I think it varies by state - and probably by provider, too. I’ve seen several pop-up/city-run clinics emphasizing that insurance & ID is not required - the reasoning is that we need undocumented folks vaccinated, too. Not many things are centralized in the US.

It's likely in the system. Most states have vaccination databases, but not everyone is aware of this.

Well that's a comforting thought.
Is there a link for this?

There was one earlier. I'll see if I can dig it up. It's state by state. In many states, you can even login and see your vaccination history, like in illinois.
