"Pfizer said that if given within three days of the onset of symptoms, the pill, called Paxlovid, reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 89 percent.

NHL Announces Players Won't Be Allowed to Go to Olympics - Bloomberg

(AP) -- NHL players will not be allowed to participate in the Beijing Olympics after the league pulled the plug amid a rash of postponements caused by positive COVID-19 test results.

Commissioner Gary Bettman made the announcement Wednesday, making official what seemed inevitable in recent days when the list of postponed games quickly grew to 50. The league will use the previously scheduled Feb. 6-22 Olympic break to make up those games and others that need to be rescheduled...

Yes ur right I got the first dose from pressure to be able to fly. Once I did my own research I never went back for the second. Biggest regret is getting the first dose and caving to pressure.


So now I understand. I'm sure no one here wants to scold you and we are sorry you've been sick and that Covid is running through your family.
You were blessed to get the treatment you did, and I just hope that what you’ve endured reminds everyone of the importance of being fully vaccinated with a booster.

As we all know, the reports of monoclonal antibodies becoming less available are going to make it tougher for others in need to get this vital treatment.

Oh, my. So, I've been having my groceries (and everything else) delivered since last year pretty much. I had to go to Harris Teeter personally today because I wanted to select the cut of meat and fresh produce for Christmas dinner.

I pass two huge signs on the front doors declaring masks are required for entry. During the hour I was there (the place was packed) I saw MAYBE ten masked people and most of the employees wearing masks on their chins. People coughing and sneezing, kids with runny noses everywhere. I was wearing an N95 covered by a surgical mask so I'm pretty sure I at least wasn't spraying potentially infectious respiratory droplets into the environment.

I felt so gross when I got home I took my clothes off right in the laundry room and showered immediately.

It was disgusting. jmo

be prosecuted for assault----- perhaps others would think twice
about attacking hospital workers if they knew there was severe
punishment for this behavior

I know. I had to change checkout lines because the lady behind me had a kid hacking up a lung. And no, neither was wearing a mask. I bet she would have sent him to school like that today too, if school was in session.

In case anyone doesn't know this - if you have a Target in your area, I think most, if not all, offer pickup/drive-up.

Usually you can place an order with the app and it'll be ready in 2-4 hours. I think they also hold them for 2-3 days. No minimum required, you don't have to choose a time slot, and it's free.

Just wanted to put that out there for anyone who may need things and maybe it'll help someone avoid a trip into the store. Some Targets have a good variety of cold/frozen foods and produce depending on the store.

Our local Walmart is usually booked for a week and has been like that for a while. I normally have to go to another town to get pickup orders from Walmart and they're usually a couple days out too. So Target has been a great alternative for things we need quickly.

Well tomorrow I am going to the vaccinated-masked up hair salon in Naples-- I will be there quite a while--- hair dye, style, cut--- probably a couple hours and I have to tell you, given this variant circulating, I am anxious about possible exposure. I will double mask, but still-- It is something I must do though, as I cannot do my own hair. It looks horrid (and that is not an exaggeration).

this assault behavior to the police- as long as people can do this kinda stuff without
consequences they will continue to act out..

As someone pointed out, if this happens on an airplane the attacker is
charged, most likely for assault.

I go grocery shopping locally about once a week, usually when the shops aren't too busy. Occasionally a limit to the number of customers per shop is imposed, which is in effect again for the holidays. From the start of the pandemic I only saw three customers (not counting small children) not wearing a mask inside, each in a different shop. It felt like they were trying to show that they can disregard the rules without being challenged.

It’s not good news when it’s not available.
The drive up lane turned away those in line because they are out of sotrovimab.
No idea on when more will be received.

I don’t know if you have Trader Joe’s where you live but that is the most “masked “ store in my area. An employee hands out shopping carts at the door and ensures that everyone is wearing a mask.
