My husband and I have gone almost 2 years running the Covid gauntlet only to be taken out by Omicron. We are both vaxxed. It’s not bad. Extreme fatigue, about 12 hours of fever and body aches but mostly annoying congestion and runny nose.
Something else of notice….my daughter entire dance company is all having a Covid outbreak. Some worse symptoms than others but all totally fine. Every. Single. Girl. Who is sick is vaxxed. Not one unvaxxed girl is sick. I find it super interesting and there is a group chat between us (the vaxxed and unvaxxed girl moms) about how that’s possible. Some food for thought. Also, they were all together during their dress rehearsal and rehearsals sat and Sunday and all attended a Christmas party together. Definitely makes you wonder.

Some people claim to be vaccinated when they aren't. And some parents claim their kids are vaccinated when they aren't. I wouldn't bring that up as a topic of conversation amongst the moms, though. That would go south quickly. jmo

Some people claim to be vaccinated when they aren't. And some parents claim their kids are vaccinated when they aren't. I wouldn't bring that up as a topic of conversation amongst the moms, though. That would go south quickly. jmo

And some people could be lying about their un-vaccinated children symptoms.

Not a chance. The dance studio requires proof if you say you are.

Nah. We are really close and there really is no stigma surrounding the girls or moms who have Covid. I just find it weird and interesting.

Just a theory. I've witnessed some of my relatives bald-faced lying about being vaccinated when it suits them. It was just a possibility among many. jmo

Data from the US Centers for Disease Control shows that unvaccinated people are 20 times more likely to die than vaccinated people.

So simple yet so many won’t get vaccinated.

I’ve known these families for many years. We are all very open about our vax/non vax statuses lol. I’m vaxxed. My daughter is not. And vice versa. I just don’t believe they’d lie about it because there is no stigma one way or another here.

So many families!!! It’s going to be a very quiet Christmas but everyone is ok and at home and we’ve kept lines of communication open. I get a new every few hours about so and so testing positive.

I'm pretty jaded though after watching my city and state pretend nothing is happening the last 18 months. People don't isolate or quarantine here, not the positives, not the contacts. They just don't. imo

Yeah you do sound pretty jaded. These are loving and responsible adults who will all do the right thing. They are making the best of a crappy situation.

Yeah you do sound pretty jaded. These are loving and responsible adults who will all do the right thing. They are making the best of a crappy situation.

You're lucky to be surrounded by responsible people. Some regions of the world have an unending uphill battle dealing with irresponsible and reckless people. I'm at my wit's end with them, honestly.

It’s ok. I get it. And I wasn’t trying to stir up and controversy but I thought it was interesting. We’ll see what happens over the next few days with other girls being positive. But so far my daughter and 2 boys are unscathed meanwhile living in a Covid house with my husband and myself. We are almost out of the woods aka quarantine

There may be a pool of young unvaccinated people who could have had prior mild or asymptomatic infections and not gotten tested. Just a thought.

Within 3 days? If the symptoms are cold type symptoms and tests are hard to find I find I wonder how many of us can get tested and start treatment within 3 days.

Fauci recommends that you don't invite unvaccinated relatives over for the holidays

Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Tuesday that he recommends people avoid seeing unvaccinated relatives during the upcoming holidays as the Omicron variant rapidly spreads across the country.

"I think we're dealing with a serious enough situation that if there's an unvaccinated person, I would say 'I'm very sorry, but not this time,'" the nation's top infectious disease expert told MSNBC's Alicia Menendez.

He added: "Maybe another time, when this is all over."

Fauci's advice comes as Omicron has quickly become the most common coronavirus variant in the US, making up 73% of recent confirmed cases, according to the latest figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Just over 70% of the US population over the age of 12 is fully vaccinated, CDC data shows, and only 30.4% of those who are fully vaccinated have received their booster shots.

Fauci said the Omicron variant "is going to find you" if you haven't been vaccinated yet.

He added that he hopes unvaccinated individuals will "put aside any ideological consideration" and get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.

"It's the best thing for you and your family, but also your societal responsibility to not allow yourself to be a vehicle for spread to someone else who might be very vulnerable," he said.
