I have to fess up-- I got my covid vaccine shots and booster
but I have never had a flu shot and dont plan on getting one--
you may ask why-- I am afraid of having an allergic reaction'
they say dont get it if you are allergic to eggs---As far as I know
I am not allergic to eggs, but that does not rule out the possibility
I could be allergic to the flu shot IMO
I've never had a flu shot either (or a pneumonia shot) but I am seriously thinking of getting them both this year. Although I heard the flu shot wasn't very effective this year (wrong strain) so I'm still undecided.

There are flu shots, such as FluBlok that are not produced using eggs. Although flu shots are not great at preventing all infection, they do help prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death (link below).

I actually was concerned about getting my Covid vaccination, as I have a history of anaphylaxis, and other weird immune issues. Luckily, I had no serious side effects.

I don't know why it bothers me but it helps to hear what others have to say. Thanks.

And remember we ALL have different symptoms or none at all..... And it has nothing to do with the antibodies or protection. YOU WILL be so much better protected.

Conspiracy theorist and podcaster Doug Kuzma dies from COVID

Following 10 days of hospitalization, Doug Kuzma, 61, succumbed to COVID on Monday.

Kuzma posted Facebook photos from the Dec. 11 ReAwaken America rally in Dallas, where he and like-minded attendees appeared maskless and crowded together. He also posted a photo of himself maskless at an airport on his way home from the event.

When it was suggested on social media that he get tested for COVID, Kuzma took a hard pass. “You must have lost your mind, so they can kill me, and try and give me the jab,” Kuzma reportedly responded to one commenter. “I’ll die at the house before I go to the hospital.”

He was found unconscious at his home on Christmas Eve, then rushed to a hospital where he was said to have been put on a ventilator before dying days later.

My niece has passed away from multi-organ failure due to infection with the SARS-CoV 2 virus. She was only 39.

She suffered from poorly controlled diabetes and hypertension, had a very unhealthy BMI, was a smoker and declined to get a booster shot, all of which likely contributed greatly to her severe illness and rapid decline.

Take care of yourselves out there, folks.

This is the guy that tried to spin that it was an anthrax attack at the rally in Dallas, not Covid that made him sick. Several other people got Covid at the event as well.

CharlestonGal, I'm so sorry to hear about your niece. Sounds like once Covid hit, she really didn't have a chance. My condolences to your family, especially your sister.

I have taken flu shot for years. I have severe allergies to common and commonly prescribed meds. Anaphylaxis isn't fun but never had an issue with any vaccine.

My brother who went on the cruise and has Covid now- so does everyone else in his family that went- his wife, his wife's sister, and his two college age daughters.
My brother is ridiculous, he went for a 3 mile run yesterday while still testing positive. I don't know what he is trying to prove? I worry about him- shouldnt he be resting rather than challenging the virus. Ugh.

I just read this story about Royal Caribbean ships having many crew members test positive:

I did Pfizer for my first two, and was truly sick. So, I went with Moderna for my booster, no problems at all.

Good to hear. I did not do well with my 2nd Pfizer. I've been randomly considering Moderna.

British billionaire Richard Branson said on Thursday he was recovering from a "mild" case of coronavirus along with his wife and other family members after they tested positive for the Omicron variant.

Did anyone get a Pfizer booster?

How were the side effects compared to the first 2 doses?

I'm getting a little nervous ....... I had put off getting the first 2 shots.

First August 2021 and second September 2021.

FWIW, I had little in the way of side effects for my first 2 Pfizer shots- booster gave me a headache starting shortly afterward- I slept about 12 hrs that night (!) (a crazy amt for me) and I did not feel great the next day, but I was working from home at the time and not having to perform any feats of coordination.

Many of my friends have been trying to use teachers who are using online format. Many teachers blamed "technology" for not being able to teach online.

So, if those teachers won't teach children in a classroom, at least make them show up physically at work, where there will be consistent internet connections. And on-site IT.

Is that a reasonable solution?

Yes, I do believe that is exactly what is happening. Many teachers are conducting online classes from their classroom.
