IIRC, his anti-vaccine stance is well known. Also, if he tested positive on Dec 16, why did he attend various public functions in the next couple of days?
IMO, MOO, I think he 'conveniently' got tested positive on Dec 16.

8?

I've had a total of 3 tests since January 2020. One because I landed in an ER totally unrelated to Covid. Then 2 in September because I got really ill after an event. It wasn't Covid.

IMO, that's overkill and encouraging hyperchondria and anxiety.

I thought it meant 8 different types of Covid tests. Different tests made by different companies.

Looks like your correct, 8 a month. Wow, does seem excessive and the article states:

It was not immediately clear what incentives were offered to insurers to agree to the plan. The Department of Health and Human Services did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Hi
To those of you who had covid or have it right now did you have negative pcr while having symptoms?
I don’t post much here but I’m reading coronavirus thread all the time it’s a great source of information. I’m living in Sweden and I meet a lot of unmasked people because of my job. I’m a dentist. I was lucky not to get covid since the beginning of pandemic. Now I’m experiencing symptoms very mild ones ( I’m double vaxxed waiting for booster it needs to pass 6 months ) a bit scratchy throat muscle aches and tiredness. I took 2 antigen tests and one pcr which came back negative . I was sure it’s covid now I don't know anymore Not sure if I need to repeat pcr . Would love to hear your pcr reliability experience!

U.S. issues 'Do Not Travel' warning for Canada amid Covid rise (nbcnews.com)

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention deemed Canada "very high" risk for travel on Monday as the State Department issued a "Level Four" warning.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U.S. State Department on Monday advised against travel to neighboring Canada because of a rising number of Covid-19 cases as the omicron variant spreads.

The CDC elevated its travel recommendation to “Level Four: Very High” for Canada, telling Americans they should avoid travel, while the State Department also on Monday issued its “Level Four: Do Not Travel” advisory for Canada citing Covid-19 cases.

The CDC, which lists about 80 destinations worldwide at Level Four, also raised the island of Curacao to Level Four...

Some jobs require tests for work. (And Some mandates came with the “or regular testing” option) College students and employees have been getting tested 2-3 times a week since last year. Childcare centers can require it. I’ve been know to test several times a month as an extra precaution before spending time with an unvaxxed family member.

Does anyone have any info about drinking alcohol after mab infusion? I did a google search and didn't find anything and I don't want to call my doctor and bother her over something stupid like that.

I had my infusion on 12/23, so nearly three weeks ago. I really need a glass of wine (or 3 or 4).

But none of that is medically necessary. Insurance companies shouldn't have to cover that. The examples you cited should be out of pocket.

That's also why some places keep running out of rapid tests.

You can thank social media-internet for bringing out the worst
of human kind- the genie is out of the bottle and can never be
put back---

well, it gives EVERYONE a platform for anti-vaxxers/anti-maskers unfortunately for example. But yes, the internet is a medium that can be used for creating good in this world or for people to create chaos and to spread hate and disinfo.

Scratchy raw throat and night sweats. Sounds like a fab time

https://www.masslive.com/coronavirus/2022/01/most-common-covid-omicron-symptoms-now-1-unique-symptom-reported.html

The main symptoms of the omicron variant are:

  • Cough
  • Fatigue or tiredness
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Sore throat, particularly a “scratchy” throat
  • Headache
  • Muscle aches
Sore throat has been identified as a distinguishing symptom, according to experts. The symptom includes a dry-sore throat that caused sharp pain when a patient swallows and appears before most other COVID symptoms.

“It’s a very prominent symptom,” Dr. Jorge Moreno, an assistant professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, told Business Insider. “It’s not like a little tickle in the throat. If they’re reporting it, they’re saying that their throat feels raw.”

And while loss of taste and smell aren’t widely seen among omicron patients, a unique symptom is appearing – night sweats.

“People aren’t reporting a loss of taste or smell as much with omicron as they were with previous variants,” Dr. John Torres, NBC News senior medical correspondent told the Today Show. “But people are reporting night sweats, which is a very strange symptom that they say they’re having.”

Some people have to test weekly or more for work. Some need negative tests to visit nursing homes or for other events, etc. Or have to test after being exposed to a positive case. It's better to have too many authorized than not enough. jmo

My opinion, is that only medical reasons should be required for insurance to be required to cover them. A medical reason (to me) is: I'm showing symptoms of Covid. JMO

Daughter-in-law is a VPK teacher. They got in 5 school days, but are closed now until next Tuesday. Three teachers, two subs, three students positive so far. Two of the students are in her class, the other in my grandson's class. One of the teachers is my granddaughter's teacher, one is my daughter-in-law's co-teacher. One of the subs was in my granddaughter's class, the other in my daughter-in-law's class.

Little bit of stress here. Everybody is fine so far, thankfully.

Nice recap. IIRC... we had an article earlier here that also stressed muscle ache more specifically with low back pain. I hear more and more people saying this as well.

I had the rapid test and it was negative..... but I am sure I had omicron. And so many people in my closer circle here have had it as well. All of us are totally vaxed and boosted. All of us just had varying degrees of the symptoms. The most common have been the throat, headaches and body and low back aches........oh and many of us ended up with the night sweats too. I kept running a low temperature...so have no idea what that means.

I know there have been people here who have tested negative to the pcr, so keep checking here.

While you are here, could you give us an idea of how things are going, and how people are feeling in Sweden right now? 72% of my ancestry comes home to you, so I am always interested! We had some Swedes on the site in the beginning of Covid... so they were sharing your early policies.

Hej!

My sister lives near Lund & Malmo - are you anywhere near there - how's the covid infections running? She & her husband are both vaxed & boosted. I'm planning a trip in February to visit with her on her birthday. So would like a bit of info if you know! TIA!

Her poor child. He is sick and turns to his mom for help and she puts him in the trunk? That must have been shocking and sad for him too.

If only there was something people could buy and wear over their mouths and noses to help prevent spread of a virus like that....
