Yes, very evil.

It’s why I get upset/angry at people who have downplayed the seriousness of this pandemic. I’m still one of a few people at work who still masks up and I very rarely leave my house. I’m mocked for my decisions to mask up but whatever…

I DID attend a concert on the 4th. It wasn’t a small event by any means, either. It was the first large indoor event I have been to since the pandemic started. I was masked the whole time. I don’t regret going, though. I needed that sense of normalcy back.

It is too bad that some people would find a need to mock you or anybody that feels a need to wear mask! Take care of yourself

Yes, I got COVID a third time even after being vaccinated and boosted. The third time was mild compared to the first two times. It felt like a bad cold and I didn’t have nearly as many symptoms.

No long term side effects from the third infection, but I do have long term effects from the first and second infections. I now have asthma, chronic fatigue, gluten intolerance, possible MCAS, chronic respiratory issues, and I’m more susceptible to respiratory infections now. I was a perfectly healthy 30 year old before contracting COVID.

Oh my gosh, I am incredibly sad and so sorry that CV radically changed your life!!
Covid is truly pure evil. I fear rather I think that it will only get worse.

I think of the Covid virus like a stealth sociopathic killer

While I am grateful that we have a vaccine, I am massively disappointed that its effectiveness wears off so quickly, and frankly, I am shocked that it's effective for approximately four months at which point protection begins to wane. we know there has been minimal compliance with boosters: Only a small percentage of eligible people have received the first or second booster. I have not had the 2nd booster yet. I think if the vaccine had a longer shelf life there would be better compliance. They really need to work on tweaking this vaccine so that it would be effective for a year. I can see compliance with an annual booster.

Very interesting-- more comfortable and yet very secure masks coming soon---- sounds like a great idea to me- masks that you stick on your face and seal---- and are supposedly comfortable---

I know and have zero problem with the fact that masks will be a part of my life for a long time. I have never understood the anger that so many have at having to wear one (barring medical reasons).

Who is eligible? I really have not done any research because I had no plans on getting the vaccine. Nor do I really have time or the capacity in my brain to do the research because at this moment in my life I am suffering with severe PTSD and I am in intensive trauma therapy which wipes me out.

My doctor told me that we have about a five month immunity. After we have Covid but with all of the reinfections and even the new infections of the BA.5 strain I’m not so sure that’s the (new) truth.

Considering that natural infection doesn't provide long lasting immunity, and virus mutates very rapidly, I don't think longer lasting vaccine will be created any time soon.

Viruses that are stored in labs are kept in a frozen state, so it makes sense to me. I’d have to search but I’m sure I’ve read that ancient viruses have been found in permafrost.

At this time, as far as I know, eligibility for the booster are people over 50 years of age.

I have not had Covid and hope to avoid it- which is why I am going to get my 2nd booster.

I fear you are right: I am hoping they will develop a nasal vaccine but am not hopeful that it will be available anytime soon.

At this point in time, they have been unable to develop a vaccine that is effective for a year- That would be much better if they could do that.
