My issue since covid, incredible bone pain. Nothing I take helps. I hate it! It stops me from so much! My Dr. gave me anti-inflammatory. Nope, not even a dent
I'm so sorry @Stunned :( That must be awful. Perhaps you could ask your doctor if it could be nerve pain. I recently had a bought of severe back pain shooting down my legs and up my back. I couldn't function! The standard pain medications did nothing. Finally one of my doctors prescribed a pain medications specifically for nerve pain, and along with physical therapy it worked wonders. I hope you feel better soon.

My Dr. has told me that we will be learning about Covid and its after affects for years to come.

Aw thanks. I got the Paxlovid and boy does it leave a yucky taste in my mouth, so I’ve been drinking tomato soup a lot to wash it down. Throat is less sore today, but I’m more congested and the pressure in my ears is annoying and very painful. Earlier, I took a hot bath with Epsom salts that had a lot of eucalyptus and spearmint oils in it, and it was very soothing - especially when I put my entire head and face under the water for a few seconds. It seemed to loosen the mucous up a little bit and relieve the ear pressure. I’ve stayed in bed most of the day, but had to muster up the energy to get up and take the litter box outside this afternoon, scrub it, dry it and add new litter because my house tigers (kitty cats) were getting pizzed off and hollering at me for not tending to their dirty box. I thought I was going to pass out from the Florida Heat and humidity. Got a bit of heaviness in my chest after the liter box ordeal. Was out in the heat in flannel pajamas and crazy hair washing that thing in my front yard. Thank goodness my neighbors who know me —- know they WILL see me in my pajamas and I don’t care. Back in bed now hoping that tomorrow will be a turning point. I hope you and Mr HKP get the doctor on the line tomorrow and that you both can get some relief! Rest up this evening and get a good nights sleep.

Oh! Thank you to the person who recommended the Chloraseptic spray! It is very helpful easing the sore throat pain. I also did a few gargles with warm salt water. Helped a lot.

Wishing wellness to everyone who is suffering,

I'm happy to hear the Chloraseptic spray is working for you, and the warm salt water gargles help. When my turn comes (as I feel sure it will), I'll be using the spray and gargling, too.

She’s my sister. It’s heartbreaking. She is also treating her own horrific skin cancer with herbal remedies her and her daughter make. Her sons have washed their hands of her.
I’m am so sorry. My heart goes out to you and your dear sister. You are so kind to take care of her, and she’s lucky to have you there by her side. Wishing her the best.

I hope you are doing ok. My throat is less sore today but am still very congested and any activity makes me kind of tight chested still. Mr HKP is still testing positive (fainter though) but his asthma is causing us a little concern. He is needing his blue inhaler at times which he rarely uses. He’s phoning the doctor tomorrow (here’s hoping he can reach one, v tricky here right now).

Its not helping that we have this heatwave. It’s 11pm ish here and 26 degrees in my bedroom with no air. Ofc we don’t have aircon. I think I might become surgically attached to my Olbas nose inhaler! The heatwave combined with rising cases will I think have a bad impact on the NHS.

Re the outside infections discussion, we believe he caught it from a co worker he was talking to outside. The guy tested positive that night and my husband tested positive a couple of days after (last Monday). So it def does seem v possible to be infected outdoors, unfortunately.

I am sorry you are dealing with Covid in the midst of a heat wave, with no air conditioning! In NC, we have hot and humid summers that are hard to take, but AC makes a big difference. We can't open our windows at night because of the heat and humidity. Do you perhaps have fans that can at least move the air around?

It seems like this pandemic will never end- I believe it is worse than the pandemic of 1918- for one thing, though many many people died, those that survived didn't have something like long Covid --- if they survived I am presuming they were over it---I am not sure about how much the virus mutated then, or if they had the ability then to track the mutations like we have now.
Well....there wasn't long covid, but the 1918 influenza did do some long term damage. I have a friend whose great-uncle ended up with brain damage from it and was never able to live an independent life.

That is new information for me- that is why I love this site- always learning- if it happened to your friend's uncle, I would presume complications happened to others.

I imagine it was from a high fever. Aspirin didn't become available without a prescription until 1915 and I have no idea how available it was to the general public in 1918 or if there was enough to fill the need. :(

How are you feeling @HongKongPhooey ??
Thank you, I feel I am on the mend but not counting my chickens as I thought the same about my husband last week! He has spoken to his doc today and has a steroid prescription to collect later to help with his asthma - all has to be carefully coordinated with his surgery.

DH announced over the weekend that we should get our second boosters next week after I've had my annual mammogram this Thursday. We were due for our second shots in mid-May but wanted to wait a bit longer, maybe even until fall. With the possibility of a new booster this fall, we will go ahead and get our second boosters next week. I would have had to have my second booster by June 1 because it's recommended that women don't have a mammogram for six weeks following Covid injections.

Do you know if having Covid weeks before a mammogram will interfere? I have a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound on my breasts scheduled July 20, but I’m currently Covid positive.

How are you feeling today @Gypsy Road ??
Hi! You are so kind to think of me and ask. I am feeling a bit better, but I’m still dealing with ear pressure, headache, fatigue and a cough. My throat pain is almost gone however. It feels more like a bad cold today than like a debilitating flu. I feel like I’m on the upswing, but I’m not ready to get out of bed and run a marathon. Nights seem to be more uncomfortable so I took NyQuil again last night to sleep and got a long uninterrupted slumber. Thank you for asking. How is everyone else doing today?
