As coronavirus cripples cruise lines, one of the world’s most exclusive operators has made the unprecedented decision to suspend its ocean and river trips.

The suspension in response to the global coronavirus outbreak is effective as of today, March 12, and will be in place until April 30.

“We believe Viking will be in a better place to provide the experiences our guests expect and deserve after this time and plan to resume operations on May 1, 2020, continuing all further sailings as originally planned,”

Why anyone would risk going to any public gathering is beyond me, but, let's face it, there are still those who deny the virus is a problem or even real. God help us all.
I have concert tickets for a show at the end of the month. If it's not cancelled I plan to go. Im young, healthy and dont mingle with older people.

Minnesota's COVID-19 case count now up to 9 patients

Testing has now identified nine cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota — with Hennepin, Dakota and Stearns counties now having their first cases.

The case count was reported Thursday afternoon by the Minnesota Department of Health on its COVID-19 web page. The results are based on tests so far of 316 patients.

Yep. Minnesota. Dakota County. That's me. EXCEPT we are in San Antonio, supposedly until mid-April. AND, San Antonio Lackland Air Base, 11 miles away and no reason for me to go there, just took about 100 people from the Oakland ship. So far, SA seems to be the better option, despite Lackland. So, will the virus stay at Lackland, or should we go home to Dakota Co, MN? Decisions. Decisions. Decisions.

Italy has some very good news ... no new cases in the "red zone"!

Italy says lockdown can work as deaths top 1,000

Mr Di Maio told the BBC the measures imposed in the first area of the outbreak were proving effective.
Two weeks after the first 10 towns in northern Italy were declared a "red zone" and put under lockdown, he said they had no new infections.

I think in my neck of the woods the Governor needs to release info about the number of people in quarantine that were exposed in Cynthiana, KY. A town of 6k can’t keep secrets.....if ya know what I mean. The contact chain is enormous & a large number of people travel outside Cynthiana to work. Imo many are asymptomatic, some need the money & will continue working, some are clueless. Some are afraid to go in the WMT (since it never closed for cleaning) and now come to my town to shop. So, MOO, because it is not in writing, we have a staggering amount of people that should be home and a staggering amount that are home. Moo

Broadway will shut down for four to six weeks beginning tonight, due to the coronavirus outbreak, several sources told The Post. In what is the worst crisis the industry has faced since the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001, several shows will not be able to recover. “The Minutes,” a new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts that was to open Sunday night, is likely to close and never return.

JetBlue passenger on flight to Florida tested positive for #CoronaVirus prior to boarding: http://cmplx.co/PEiMLt1

A passenger who boarded a JetBlue flight to Florida from New York has tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus, and he found out just before the plane departed. ABC News reports that the man flew on JetBlue flight 253 from JFK Airport to Palm Beach International Airport, and he allegedly received a phone call about his test results prior to takeoff.

"The person across the way from me was taken to the back of the plane," one passenger told WPTV. "He was wearing masks and gloves. His wife was sitting in the same row as me and mentioned to others that he wasn’t feeling well... She said he had gotten a phone call with his test results right before we had taken off, implying that he had a positive test but not actually saying it."

When the plane landed in Florida, it was kept on the tarmac for around two hours as the crew and the 114 passengers on board spoke with health officials. Passengers on the flight were allowed to leave the airport without consulting a doctor, but they were warned to monitor for any possible symptoms of the virus. The plane was emptied in a containment area away from the main airport terminal, and crews began sterilizing said area. Passengers were told they don't need to self-quarantine.

We have a critical case in MN (in 30's age bracket). The person was not in a nursing home and was not in poor health. Gotta think deeper.

''A child in Calgary has tested positive for COVID-19, Suncor confirmed to CBC News on Thursday, sending staff at a daycare in the company's downtown headquarters into self-quarantine.

The news comes on the same day that Ontario said a baby in that province tested positive, marking the first two known cases affecting children.

The manager of the Pump-Kin Patch Child Care Centre confirmed to CBC News that she and her staff are in self-isolation.

Suncor spokesperson Erin Rees said the daycare was closed as soon as the case was confirmed.

The child was last in the daycare on March 6. ''

I wouldnt be surprised if that person finds out they had a previously unnoticed condition.
