Our school district here open Norfolk VA just suspended all after school and extra curricular activities until further notice in response to the governor’s announcement of a states of emergency. I guess they think people are more susceptible in small numbers. Makes no sense.
Closing half the activities only does half the job IMO we need a lock down of epic proportions or we are toast , too many "I'm doing what I want anyway" people.

Donald Trump is considering extending travel restrictions to domestic travel between California and Washington. There is no confirmation and no details from the president on this yet.

The first known person was reported to have contracted the virus on Dec. 1 in China, according to an article in The Lancet. There are infection clusters in Iran, Italy and South Korea; Italy has effectively quarantined the northern part of the country, one quarter of the population.

Will coronavirus continue its silent, sometimes deadly march? What we can learn from the missteps during those critical, early days in China

Amid the fear and confusion surrounding the initial days of the virus in China, some families there have voiced concern and frustration that their relatives’ cause of death was marked as “severe pneumonia” or “viral pneumonia” on their death certificates, the Wall Street Journal reported.

.....

Jmo- probably october when it started.

And I wonder how much of that is going on in the US even as we speak...have a friend's sister who has pneumonia...now her husband has pneumonia too..they are elderly, in their 80s but no test was given to them...she was originally sent home but now back in hospital...

Our KY Gov’ claims we have ample tests to test anyone that needs a test, I wonder if this is true elsewhere? I completely understand the majority of us don’t need to be tested. Some people cough 24/7, now they might think they need a test but their cough could be related to chain smoking. If someone gets tested & gets right back out & about, when will he need to be tested again? A few days or a week later?

People are really going crazy now, with shopping here in So. California. Thanks to this thread, I already did my shopping and stocking. Although, as I own a restaurant, I can buy bulk anytime and have it delivered. That's IF I have any customers, so I can pay for it!

Re: Preventing a covid-19 pandemic: ACE inhibitors as a potential risk factor for fatal Covid-19

Link between ACE inhibitor Lisinopril or the angiotensin Losartan and severity of symptoms of COVID-19?

<snipped and bbm>

"Is the expression of ACE2 receptor in the virus targeted cells increased by the use of ACE-inhibitor/angiotensin-receptor blocker and is the patient therefore more at risk for a severe course?

We need rapid epidemiological and preclinical studies to clarify this relationship. If this were the case, we might be able to reduce the risk of fatal Covid-19 courses in many patients by temporarily replacing these drugs."

---------------------------

Otherwise "healthy," I was diagnosed with hypertension (high blood pressure) a few months ago. The only medication I am currently using is. . . Lisinopril!!! LOL

My husband takes lisinopril and I take enalapril. I think we need to check with our doctors about this. We are at higher risk anyway because we're in our seventies. It's scary to think that the drug we are taking to help control one problem could make the coronavirus more likely to kill us!
