On day 1 of the illness, 80 percent of oral swabs were SARS-CoV-2-positive, but by day 5, 75 percent of anal swabs were positive, while only half of the oral swabs showed infection, according to the study.

“These results confirm that COVID-19 patients have live virus in stool specimens, which is a new finding in the transmission routes of 2019-nCoV,” wrote authors of a study, published by the CCDC publication CCDC Weekly.

This means that sneezing isn’t the only way for transmission. Blood and fecal matter can carry the virus, even when conventional testing comes back negative.

“The virus can also be transmitted through the potential fecal-oral route. This means that stool samples may contaminate hands, food, water, etc., and may cause infection by invading the oral cavity, respiratory mucosa, conjunctiva, etc,” study authors concluded. Question, this was published online at the Chinese CDC weekly February 15th. Why have we not had more scientific reports on the fecal transmission after almost another month?

Well, one question. Who at the WHO is saying this? There are no sources attributed to this claim. I’m dumbfounded such an offer would be rejected but dubious of this claim with zero sources.

I have a good story to share. I just spoke to my Dad. He is 90 years old. he went to the Safeway today to get groceries and the lady in front of him kept forgetting things and holding up the line. My Dad didn't complain and was friendly towards her. Well, when my Dad started to pay his grocery bill, the cashier informed him that the lady had paid an extra $50 dollars to go towards my Dad's grocery bill. I thought that was pretty cool and a nice story amidst all the bad news.

“To do so, all performances, events, and programs scheduled at OSF through April 8 are canceled, including performances of Bring Down the House, Parts I & II, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Copper Children, and Peter and the Starcatcher.”

—Southern Oregon University announced Thursday during a press conference that finals will continue as normal next week, but next quarter will have all of its’ classes online because of the state-wide coronavirus outbreak.

—The memorial service for an acquaintance has been limited to extended family only. It’s a huge family, and friends would have pushed it over 250!

—Our daughter in San Diego, who works for a large TV/phone/internet company said all employees not dealing with the public are to work from home now. She said they are boosting internet speeds for lower tiered customers who have to work or study from home.

I understand exactly what you're saying.
I just saw my doctor and he sure had a different attitude, I was surprised.
First, he said I could go off my blood thinner. The cause of my clots was isolated bad travel events, no underlying condition. He said after 6 mos. of blood thiner clots are absorbed. He doesn't consider that a risk, and doesn't consider our high BP a risk.
The only thing he was a bit concerned about was DH's asthma. But he said as long as he takes his inhalers along, ok. He also doesn't consider us elderly, to him elderly is over 70. He does not consider me to be an unhealthy risk.
He said the virus is coming, lots of people are going to get it. We're going to get it in our state (even though he said it's extremely difficult to get tested for it here.) He seems to be in the "like getting the cold or the flu" school. He said if we want to go see our grandbaby, go; just don't go out and about much while we're there.
To be clear, that's what he said, not what I'm saying. Not saying I agree.

It’s a choice for you to make and only you can make it. And whatever decision you make is going to be the right one, IMO. Trust your own instincts. You have all the info you need to be able to make an informed decision.

My doctor told me to avoid planes right now. I trust her. But she knows me. If your doctor knows you then maybe their opinion is the best you can consider other than your own instinct.

It’s hard to make decisions at a time like this. But I do think if we have the facts and consider our guts we are going to do the best we can. With this plague and with everything in life.

Is it possible to do videoconferencing? With your clients or by yourself as you go before the court?

No. But we can do court call sometimes. I have called the court and they’re going to get back to me regarding my case next week. Turns out my client also has asthma. She’s much younger than me but terrified.

It’s a big case. But not likely to be an evidentiary hearing. Just argument mostly. So I can probably do that from the office. I asked that my client and I be able to appear by court call together from my office.

If you lived in Phoenix and were planning to drive to Puerto Penasco staying at the Mayan Palace for a week 3/22-3/29 would you cancel due to the Coronavirus?

In a heartbeat. Because, you don't know if you will be allowed back in. Or if you are allowed back in, you may be quarantined for 2 or 3 weeks. Or, worst case scenario, you go on your trip, and catch COVID19.

If this vacation was in Vegas, Albuquerque or anywhere else that did not involve crossing the border, I would say, "Go". But right now, things are too volatile. The government could decide to close the Southern border due to Coronavirus, and you may very well get stuck. Things are rapidly changing. Consider this.

Who would have thought that marital law would be declared in New York, a week ago? Or that all travel from Europe would be halted? Seven days.

No wonder the market is a mess. Things are changing so quickly.

Schools to close through the end of March. Big change since her news conference this morning!

Brown said she heard from superintendents, teachers, parents and school board members who said they were struggling to operate in the wake of staff shortages and student absences. The governor said a lot of concern was also voiced for teachers over the age of 60 with underlying medical issues.

“I want to be very clear: sending Oregon children home will not stop the spread of the coronavirus,” Brown said in a statement. “While children are home, when at all possible, they should not be in the care of older adults or those with underlying health issues that are most at-risk from COVID-19.”

India has registered its first coronavirus death: a 76-year-old man in Karnataka who had fallen sick on returning to India on 29 February after a pilgrimage to Mecca. He died on Tuesday and was later confirmed to have tested positive. Officials are tracing all the people he came into contact with.

I would cancel. It's a lot of unnecessary exposure... especially restaurants. And the hotel, who stayed in the room before you? How many people have touched the check in counter? What about the maids who are almost certainly hourly and may not be able to stay home if they are sick?

Ours mentioned something similar earlier. I think he was talking about churches. A lot of people are angry we have so many churches closed. Gov’ mentioned singing. I was thinking some people spit when they talk, I imagine that is worse when they sing?

Hell, no masks are available.

Here’s the thing- what we’ve seen here is that masks may provide some protection. N95’s filter up to 95% of viruses, etc. but they’re asking that we leave those to the medical people who really need them. I understand that and ordered mine (which are never coming) before I heard that admonition.

Surgical masks someone stated provide protection up to 20 minutes, per their oncologist. We read of a study on here out of Hubei (so, recent) that the virus was detectable in the air of a bus for 30 minutes. And that one person infected 13. But no one wearing masks on that bus was one of the 13.

The real problem is production I guess.
