Reminds me of one of my favorite songs, TranSiberian Orchestra Christmas Eve/Sarajevo. Vedran Smailovic, cello player in Sarajevo, who climbed upon the rubble of the city fountain and played Mozark while the city was being bombed. He said that it was his way of proving that despite all evidence to the contrary, the spirit of humanity was still alive in that place. Very touching.

Who Is Vedran Smailovic?

Oh my. Michigan is where many of my Family are. All folks on my Husbands side in Denmark are healthy and isolating. Our Local Hospital protocol as of today is one visitor per Patient. Patient must name that visitor. Screening continues. No cases as of yet. 3 tested here were cleared.

It just got real to me.
My son, a lineman for the electric co. called and said they sent everyone home. They will get normal pay and 4 men will rotate call every 3 days.
They also were told not allowed to shut service off to anyone for nonpayment.
I really thought they would continue to work as usual.
Nope. They can't chance them being exposed by a fellow employee in the office.
So they will work on call from their own trucks when needed.
Moo
My husband has to go in every day to make sure the necessary supplies are available for the linemen and electricians keeping our government offices and hospitals running. Starting Monday he'll be the only one there and all supplies will be requested online or telephone and delivered where needed. I'm so relieved he won't be having contact with multiple people. Another plus is they won't need the 40 rolls of TP for one person and he was able to bring some home :)

China believes that their earliest case MAY have been in November of 2019. But they are continuing to research and can't confirm that yet.
"According to the government data seen by the Post, a 55 year-old from Hubei province could have been the first person to have contracted Covid-19 on November 17."
China’s first confirmed Covid-19 case traced back to November 17

A second person who visited President Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago estate last weekend has tested positive for coronavirus, according to emails from Republican party officials to other guests who were present. The president has been near two people in two days who have since tested positive.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez said he tested positive for the virus after attending an event in Florida with a top Brazilian government aide who has also tested positive. A senior Australian official also tested positive just days after meeting with U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr in Washington.

I'm really getting worried about elderly people who don't have the ability, whether it is physical or financial, to get supplies that they need. I don't personally know of anyone in my area that falls into that category, but I keep envisioning them, scared and alone, in their homes with no one to help them. How do we find these people if we don't know they are there?? I would be more than willing to help if I just knew who needed it.

I would look into asking your community’s senior center, any religious services organization. I know our senior center has daily meals for seniors and likely would be able to match up people for help. Catholic Charities in our town has a similar program where you volunteer to deliver groceries (and chat!) with people who are homebound or need extra help.

Check with the local Dept of Social Services, they know who receives benefits and those that fall between the cracks. Also food banks, Salvation Army, folks in the "business" of helping the poor always have folks in need and exceed what an agency can provide.

Its very kind of you to provide much needed financial assistance. This will ease the burden, stress and fill an empty belly for someone in need. Blessing to you !!!
