so is she authorized to take an additional 14 days off work after her trip?
Yes, anyone travelling out of Canada
I will have to find a link for ya. I think it may have come from Ont. Public Health. Between reading here and the ton of emails from work it's hard to keep track.

Well, I am his grandma and one of the oldest people he has contact with. I work with 5 people, so hopefully the kid won't kill us all with nasty germs. I think it is illegal to leave kids home alone. So.. no choice the way I see it.
Bless your heart! I wasn't meaning anything bad.....It's just a tough situation.

Bravo, I just checked the link that you have and my state now has 6. Has gone from 1 to 6 in a few hours.
Yes and numbers will go up IMO due to spread/testing increasing

Hope you stay healthy kensie. I got a call today cancelling my reporting for jury duty March 25th. I wish you had a heads up prior.

On Monday I had jury duty with hundreds of us crammed into this courtroom. We had to sit there for hours and hours before someone came in and told us to come back on 3/18 . Well today I find out that my state is infected (one of the last three states) and that one of the people infected is from my county. Trials have all been cancelled until May. Now I am wondering if the person that has tested positive was in that cramped courtroom. This is like some science fiction movie and I am scared. It is hard to remain calm with so much unknown. Hope everyone stays safe. I just discovered this thread today. Thank Goodness.
Perhaps you could call your local health department and make a query. I would hope they would check into that for you.

where I live a lot of teenagers and teachers off work have offered their services

Yes... my niece, who is a junior in college with classes actually suspended for two weeks before going online, has offered her services to babysit for anyone needing help right now. I know this phrase is overused and maybe cliche but it does take a village.

There is unpaid FMLA- requirements for applying/notifying based on employer. Unpaid. Have heard zip about which the Feds decided.

I think they are fine tuning the logistics...

Trump says he backs House coronavirus bill, says members of both parties should 'VOTE YES'

....criticized the initial legislation for creating a paid sick leave program through the Social Security Administration that he said would take six months to set up and hamper the agency’s normal functioning of disbursing checks to senior citizens.

He also objected to forcing permanent paid sick leave "for all businesses without exemptions and no sunsets," McCarthy said.

Well I posted the wrong info this morning. The "PBS American Experience Influenza 1918" can be watched (free of charge) on your computer or television if your television is hooked up with internet. Here is the link. It's people describing their experiences during the pandemic of 1918.

I am not sure Ray_of_hope if they could give me any info other than at lest one case has been reported (HIPPA stuff). It will not hurt to call and I will. The more I think about it, I am furious that hundreds of people could have been at potential risk. They knew the trial was going to be delayed and yet crammed us into a courtroom. I am tempted to call the local news stations and tell about their lack of responsibility. The local government was irresponsible. Sorry to be ranting so much.

These are good questions asked on Twitter but with no serious responses. Would be good to know....

Questions for my Doctor friends: If you get Corona (or Flu - is it different?) Is it better to use over the counter symptom relieve products or not?
1. NSAIDS or acetaminophen, or fever?
2. cough suppressants?
3. Mucus thinners

Is one choice better than the other?

If you are taking any medication, you should check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any of the above mentioned meds. MOO

A tiny baby – born overnight in the UK – has become the world’s youngest case of coronavirus.

The child’s mother had been rushed to a London hospital days earlier with suspected pneumonia, reports The Sun. Overnight, she and her tot were being treated at separate hospitals in North London’s Edmonton.

The mum was tested at North Middlesex Hospital but her positive result was known only after the birth. The baby was tested within minutes of arrival.

Medics are still trying to establish whether the tot was infected during birth, or contracted the virus in the womb. The baby remains at the hospital while the mum has been moved to a specialist infections hospital.
Newborn baby becomes world’s youngest corovirus victim

Gosh this is so sad! Sweet mama and precious baby. I pray they are both okay and are reunited really soon.
