Oh man. I had minor surgery on March 2nd. I self quarantined a week before that. I cancelled much needed hair and nail appointments this week. I am giving Lori Vallow a run for her money in the scrappy look department. Good thing no one will see me! I am thinking of ordering hair dye from Amazon. I hope my hair doesn't fall out!

My pomeranian's hair is gonna get long....

My daughter's town (with SIL and grandson). In all honesty, Hoboken is normally a big party town with many restaurants and bars...and "Cake Boss" Carlos' Bakery.

Oh my....three are for worse from doctors, researchers, politicians, public health workers, forecasters, healthcare workers. Anyone would have to be living under a rock to not be told of the gravity of this situation.

Now whether they want to listen, I'm assuming like yourself since you wrote this response, is a completely different story.

Hope you stay safe and do not completely ignore the warnings.

No! I am not ignoring the warnings! I am taking precautions, keeping my at risk parents and friends informed and safe and I do believe this is a very real threat. I do not believe this is a hoax. It’s real and we SHOULD be concerned. But panic doesn’t help. That tweet was not helpful and not by a doctor. I think we need to be careful about mass hysteria, but we should not deny the risk here.

This was not directed at you btw, you’re posting very helpful information. I just didn’t like his tweet. I don’t think it helps.

8 of my inlaws - 4 over age 55 and 4 in their mid 20s, are traveling from Wisconsin to Naples, Fl. area this week for a 2 week vacation. 3 will be flying and the rest driving. One works in a hospital, 2 are teachers and 1 works for the USDA. Another BIL and his family going on their planned vaca to Texas because they already have the tickets and hotel rooms so why waste it.

My sil called last night to chat and she was surprised our state has not closed the public schools yet because Wisconsin closed the schools already. She told me the nursing home my mother in law is in had restricted all visitors before the Gov. declared a state emergency so they are very aware there is a national health emergency.

I just don't understand it. How can they not be concerned of all the people they will interact with before and after the trip ? How can they not be concerned about all the surfaces they will touch in multiple states ?

They are all intelligent, responsible and compassionate adults in every other aspect of their lives but this virus. How can they be so inconsiderate to others and so careless with their own health ? I just don't understand .

Seriously. There may not even be anything open for them to have a vacation. Restaurants, theaters, parks, etc..things are closing at a rapid pace around the country. Even curfews. They are taking a chance with their health and may not have a fun trip anyway. JMO

I can not tell you how quickly food depletes, now that I am aware and conscious of tightly rationing.

Ration. Ration. Ration.

I’ve learned this by not only practicing for about three weeks, but also by watching what went down in China in the early days.

Having to go get food is a risk imo. The more you can minimize this risk for you and everyone, the better imo. We don’t know how overrun delivery services may be down the road.

I don't trust federal government to do a good job at the moment.

Actually I do. This federal administration has taken steps that have never been taken before trying to keep our country as a safe as possible. One of the best decisions was quickly banning anyone from coming in from China.

I think they all are working tirelessly each, and everyday. The experts, and doctors are some of the best in the world.

Who I DO NOT trust are many of our own citizens or those who are here for whatever reason who seem to not care one bit if they have it, or if they give it to someone else.

When we have a deadly virus like this ignorance can be as deadly, and dangerous as the virus. Unfortunately I think we have many who dont care about personal hygiene to protect themselves much less gives a flying flip about protecting others.

The federal government can't fix stupid or those who are reckless.

been slow to respond, is a massive understatement. They should be ashamed of themselves (but of course they are not)--- I foolishly trusted my government to be on top of something this life and death serious-- their delay in responding to this crisis will cost many lives- and what is worse, i don't think most of them care.

Repeating my plea to media: PLEASE stop saying "there are now X number of cases in the US" and start saying "as of today X cases have been reported in the US. Because of limited testing, experts agree the real number is far higher." We don't know how much higher but many times.

Same applies for some other countries, but US is among rich countries perhaps the champion of undertesting. Kudos to many colleagues for racing to fix that, but for now the numbers are wildly underestimated.

The people we look to to lead kept saying there’s no problem,nothing to see here, forbidding scientists to test when they knew what was happening. Then boom, suddenly we have a national emergency and the whole planet has to shut down. Stay in your house and don’t come out.
