FTR this has all had already caused rifts in my personal relationships.

I fully expect this to break my friendships apart.

I’ve always embraced diversity to its fullest.

There is no room for diversity here when it comes to approach.

Either you’re with me or you’re not.

And if you’re not, it’s been great knowing you and I wish you well, but unfortunately we will have to part ways because we're not on the same team anymore.

This is life or death and if you’re going to act like an idiot and be selfish and put others at risk and not even educate yourself on the matter, well sorry, we no longer share the same values.

It’s kind of like in the Sound of Music with “I am 16 Going on 17”...either we are on the same team or we are not.

Things change. People change. Relationships change.

The relationships I choose to keep are those that elevate my own existence because I am growing and learning from you.

If you have nothing positive to offer this relationship then we’re done.

• this doesn’t count family because you are stuck with family haha

How long have you been closely following this thread and this virus? I notice that the longer and more closely someone has followed the trajectory of the virus since Wuhan the more concerned they are and less likely to think this is nonsense.

Since people cannot be convinced to do their part (continuing to sneeze into their hands and handle money or touch pads, continuing to cough freely into the air, packing into bars, spring break events, shows), then stricter measures are going to considered necessary more and more by government officials and supported by the public.

The numbers do match the “hysteria”. China controlled the crisis with severe measures that I found appalling. They went door to door with temperature checks and hauled people out of their homes, screaming, and shoved them into quarantine camps. They forced people to remain inside and the streets went totally dead.

That’s how they controlled the spread. That should scare the hell out of everyone. Because that’s how they controlled it and the numbers were still high.

26% of those who needed hospital care needed to be in the ICU. Death rate for those who tested positive was what, about ten times the rate of the flu?

People survive but some with permanent lung damage.

I try hard to keep perspective. We have a problem though with continued minimization, confusion and misinformation. And that has exacerbated the spread.

Thank you. People need to read Tricia's warning before posting.

would you really take health advice from tom brady? you know who his personal trainer is right? and he thinks Avocado is a miracle cure and tomatoes cause inflammation and cancer and stuff

dudes wack.. legendary football player... wack dude on health it might work for him but i'd just say he's blessed with good genes
Absolutely not, but someone asked for the thread and she made an important point, and that is that a lot of people look up to TB as a role model and would listen to his advice. (or at least that's what we're afraid of).

WHAT.

Please post Tom Brady links.

Remember, athletes have so many fans and the power to inspire the masses. If they are disrespecting their gifts re: to their social powers and ability to positively influence...

Please post a link re: TB before I GO OFF. Thanks, MJP.

ok here is a link to get there. It’s from his Twitter, but for some reason I can’t get into that at the moment. Anyway, you can access it through here:

Scottish Coronavirus News

A care home in Uddingston has confirmed six cases of coronavirus among its residents.

Highgate care home, run by care group HC-One, said the residents are all being monitored carefully and health officials have been informed.

Six Lanarkshire care home residents test positive for Coronavirus

I feel so sorry for the elderly in the care homes. They might not see their families indefinitely. It is going to be horrendous for those with dementia who don’t understand what is happening.

Well it's now in my community. First case reported in my county. Patient is not a traveler and had no contact with travelers. :(

The White House press conference that just wrapped up lasted about an hour, and there was next to nothing about social distancing. Trump mounted the podium before it started and made the statement that we have “tremendous control” over the virus.

Thanks.

Yeah I’m not even go there right now because I might spontaneously combust.
I would offer you one of my paper bags to breathe into but I’ve been using a lot of them up recently and need to go restock.

Well, that perfectly and succinctly illustrates the polarization of beliefs and actions that we've been talking about, doesn't it? In a big ole nutshell, LOL. IMO

My husband says this is nothing more than an identified common cold causing mass hysteria and the economy is going to lose trillions of dollars because of it.

Needless to say, I've given up on trying to convince him.
I’m right here with ya! :( And I have friends who have said the same thing about their husbands.
Hopefully the’ll wise up soon.

DBM—-I just can’t expend the energy on folks who want to think this is no big deal. It’s not worth getting a time out. Carry on.

Friend it's in all our communities....we just don't know who it is for 14 days. We do have an opportunity to change the next 14 day period. STAY HOME, SAVE LIVES.

Italy reports 3,590 new cases of #COVID19 and 368 deaths, raising total to 24,747 cases and 1,809 dead. The scope of death and disease in Italy, a nation of 60 million, will dwarf the despair in China. Urgent action needed to save lives and learn what went so wrong in that nation.

From Tricia. Please read and heed. Thank you.

OK, I AM YELLING AGAIN AND I AM GETTING ANGRY.

IF YOU FEEL THIS IS A HOAX - IF YOU FEEL THIS IS ALL "FAKE NEWS" THEN DO NOT POST ON THIS THREAD. STAY OFF THIS THREAD. THIS THREAD IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE TAKING THE VIRUS SERIOUSLY AND WANT TO POST ABOUT FACTS AND ABOUT SOLUTIONS. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO YOUR OPINION BUT YOUR OPINION WILL CAUSE THIS THREAD DO GO UP IN FLAMES AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE CAN COME HERE AND GET FACTS. WE NEED TO TAKE THIS VIRUS SERIOUSLY AND THAT IS WHY THIS THREAD IS ON WEBSLEUTHS. PLEASE GO TO ANOTHER DISCUSSION IN THE MISSING OR IN COLD CASES AND DO SOME GOOD.

Not yelling now. We should not get hysterical about the virus but we need to discuss this virus seriously. A big difference between the two. In the same vein, we should not shrug our shoulders and say it's no big deal and it is a media hysteria.

While I respect you have the right to your opinion I have the right to ask you to leave this thread so we can discuss the virus without disruption.

Rarely do I pull this statement out but here it comes; I am the owner and the final decisions on what can be discussed and rules are all on me. I want to be as inclusive as possible but in a real National Emergency declared by the president, I have a responsibility to make sure we discuss the facts and we discuss virus in a logical and factual way.

Thank you.
Tricia.
PS. I am not getting hysterical about the virus I am getting angry at the thought of how fast this thread could literally shut the whole forum down, Our wonderful mods do not need the stress.
