But I thought COVID-19 was very susceptible to alcohol due to its weak envelope cell structure. What are they thinking?!:D
Darn it. I've been dosing the Internal Alcohol. It seems to cure a lot of my ills.

Non-pharmaceutical interventions

What’s NPI’s? Is that preventative measures?

It appears the UK is just letting everyone get it. No more containment. Scary.

OREGON

Gov. Kate Brown is weighing closing bars and restaurants, but stopped short on a call with reporters Sunday night from announcing a closure.

“I’m looking for an Oregon way to do this. We are looking at that for an option,” Brown said.

She’s debating a curfew instead of a blanket demand that food-related businesses close, she said.

<modsnip> ... one can transmit the virus without ‘feeling sick.’

My dh and I often stop by our local places (some owned by friends) and sit at the bar for a bite to eat and a beer or glass of wine. We thought about going to our friend’s restaurant on Sat. night to support him & his family. Then we thought it would be irresponsible if there was a chance we could transmit the virus to his other regular patrons, to his staff or to him.

We do not have the virus, but we are going to respect the 14 day isolation period recommended for everyone to ensure that we neither catch it nor transmit it. It’s a small price to pay.

Stay at home. Save lives.
The price is small,
compared to what could be asked of us as citizens.

Infected dance teacher boarded Air New Zealand flight from Australia after breaking out of self-quarantine as he waited for his coronavirus test results

Australian dance teacher with coronavirus flew to New Zealand despite being told to self-isolate | Daily Mail Online

I can’t believe the reckless stupidity of some people. There needs to be tough penalties to stop people endangering lives.

I hope he gets charged with something and gets a jail sentence and heavy fine. NO excuse for this!

Restaurants and bars just seem like they would be natural spreaders of this virus. It seems that the easiest way to catch it is to touch your face (mouth, nose, eyes). Many of us touch our mouths when we eat. I do not think that any business wants to be shut down and many might not survive. It stinks. But I do not think that anyone is picking on restaurants and bars besides that they are easy spreaders.

Just to add some facts from the article to clarify why the animals were “abandoned.” This is both horrible for the pets and for their people.

Residents who were forced to leave their pets behind typically left enough food and water to last them for a few days, thinking they would be able to return soon, some animal advocates told CNN.
But nearly a month after they evacuated, many residents have not returned home.

Many worried residents have contacted organizations like Vshine to ask employees to check in on their pets. Vshine has received at least 400 calls for help in the city of Dailan alone, and they have helped save at least 380 dogs and cats that were left behind, Fang said.

It is surreal that two world leaders have wives that have it/tested positive. SMDH
I can totally believe it. Both of those women have shaken hands with and air kissed a lot of visiting diplomats from various countries...

My niece is supposed to get married that weekend too, on Good Friday. About 200 people invited and most RSVP'ed yes. Before all this anyway.

How the heck do you handle something like this? Would the venue even want to be open for any event now? It's sad...it's my brother's youngest daughter and the last of his 5 kids to get married. Reckon the 50 person gathering limit will make the decision for her.

Remote wedding.

A lot cheaper too. :)

OKLAHOMA.....wow, just wow

So it turns out the Utah Jazz didn’t buy these tests privately.
Instead, the state of Oklahoma used 60% of their daily test capacity (100 tests) on testing players and staff from an NBA team.

I never realized how much I touch my face. It is really a bad habit and is hard to break. I am trying to be conscious of it now.

what?!! no no no we do not have to 'just let it unfold'
we have to do what we can to stop it in its tracks!
Honestly, good luck with that. I truly hope a miracle does intervene much earlier than the 12-15 plus months that scientists are saying is the time it will take to, research, test and introduce any defence against it. Be it to be protect or prevent. X

Anyone have any scientific data or sources for how real or dangerous this really is? I hate seeing my fellow neighbors so embraced in chaos over this and would love to see how real or dangerous it really is. Thank you.

There's a lot of videos here, made by a doctor who is going through a lot of studies and information in medical journals, and translating them into easy-to-understand language that is still about science and evidence.

Dr. John Campbell

For some help understanding the purpose and scientific value of social distancing measures, this is a very helpful article from Washington Post that is available free to read.
