Disney World should have just shut down instead of announcing a closing date which encouraged guests to come in from all over for one last hoorah. These pics (not mine) were taken last night at Magic Kingdom.

This is a global crisis and this thread is for discussion of the virus and the measure that are being put in place in an attempt to control it as best they can.

Please stop arguing over whether restaurants or bars or other businesses should be closed. It is not productive in any way. If that is what has been determined necessary by local or federal authorities, you may discuss that it is happening, but please stop politicizing and questioning every decision that is being put in place to protect citizens.

THANK YOU!!!

I would have never believed anyone if they said the figures in Italy would outbeat Iran.

This is what happens when you don't have a NATIONWIDE SHUTDOWN OF EVERYTHING!

The whole world just needs to hit the “pause” button!!!

I saw this on social media. So irresponsible. You could not pay me to be in a crowd like that right now.

Stay home if you can to help America contain coronavirus, save lives.

STAY AT HOME as much as possible. It may be in your community now or it may be soon. Until you hear otherwise from health care officials, even if you have no symptoms. That means avoiding play dates, sleepovers, bars, restaurants, parties or houses of worship. Avoid all crowds.

What can you do instead?
You can still take walks outside, shop for essentials and enjoy your online community of friends.

Stay connected in other ways. Check in on your loved ones and friends frequently.

Keep informed about what is happening in your neighborhood.

Give to people in need in your community: supplies for food pantries, financial donations, personal hygiene items.

Buy online gift certificates to your favorite local stores and restaurants — and use them when this is over.

Be a neat freak. Keep everything as clean as possible.

#StayHomeSaveLives

Here is an informative article on what disinfectants to use to kill corona virus. Of course good luck finding any of those.
EPA releases list of disinfecting chemicals that can be used against coronavirus - CNN
Unfortunately this article omits important info- and has been widely circulated. Each product that “kills” COVID-19 has application parameters to be effective. 10 minutes wet surface, 5, 3, 2, 1, 30 seconds etc. Better to go directly to the source for proper use, imo.
List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2 | US EPA

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, for example, are stated in the article as effective for coronavirus- but actually not on EPA list, p 6. For other viruses must be “wet” for 4 minutes. What wipe stays wet that long? A lot of half- baked info out there. Imo, always go directly to the source.

Also regarding Disney...they have a program called "Disney College Program" which students apply to get into and it is a dream come true for most of the ones who are accepted. It was ended (not stopped for 2 weeks, but actually ended) for this semester and all of those students will be returning home to all over the United States. They have to be out of their Disney housing by March 18th at 11 a.m. There is also an international program, but I don't know the specifics about their return situation.

My point is: all those DCP students who had to interact with all those people will be returning to their home states and bringing with them any viruses they were exposed to.

releasing inmates really ensures community safety, huh? Omg
I know this will keep happening to protect staff, the risk of inmates infecting guards is huge.
Bigger question, with courts closed, will these people ever be found when judgement day comes? I doubt it. All moo
guessing most of these inmates are unemployed.....
Frankly, by now you probably don't expect anything less from me, some of them will be dead.....they have a better chance to live outside the fence.
