Three more Drive-Thru Mobile Testing Centers are coming soon to Staten Island, Long Island, and Rockland County.

The New Rochelle drive-thru center has been a success. It’s the smartest way to test for #Coronavirus, because it reduces potential exposure for everyone.

No words for this latest report from NYC - Mayor DeBlasio hit the gym this AM:

https://nypost.com/2020/03/16/de-blasio-hits-the-gym-one-last-time-before-coronavirus-shutdown/

Quotes from article:

Broadway is dark, the city’s 1.1 million public school students are home from school, and the Big Apple’s 27,000 restaurants will close their doors to diners Tuesday — but none of those warnings could keep Mayor Bill de Blasio from a trip to his favorite public gym in Brooklyn on Monday morning.

“Text I just received (from someone who is definitely not making this up): ‘I just walked by DeBlasio [sic] going into the Y to work out so YOLO?'” a Twitter user named Teddy Goff wrote at 10:08 a.m.

Hizzoner went to the Prospect Park YMCA, a rep said, noting that he arrived around 9 a.m. and left about an hour later.

The mayor’s continued gym-rat routine — which includes a 12-mile drive from Gracie Mansion to Park Slope with his NYPD detail — had some of his former staffers fuming.

“He went to the f–king gym? Jesus!” said one shocked ex-staffer.

Another former City Hall employee told The Post, “Every New Yorker’s regular routine has been put on hold. His should be, too. Get to work. Set an example. This is embarrassing.”[BBM]

CDC recommend no gatherings of 50 people or more? … Will he be counting the amount of people there and leaving if it’s over 49?

“If we’re supposed to be social distancing, then what does that even mean if he gets to play by his own rules? Leaders are supposed to set by example. What kind of example does this set?” the former worker said.

“Also, why is he at the gym and not hunkered down 24/7 working on this? It’s a pandemic, and people are dying. Stunning.

“How many people have to die before he stops getting chauffeured to the gym is my question. What’s the appropriate number of deaths before he finds it uncouth,” the staffer continued.

But today’s workout will be the last one – publicly, anyway — for the mayor as a higher authority has stepped in: Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo has ordered all fitness facilities in the state to close by 8 p.m. Monday.[BBM]

Five city residents have died from the virus, and at least 329 have tested positive for the disease.

While the mayor made bars and restaurants to takeout-only and closed large venues, schools and senior centers, he waited for the governor to take action on shutting gyms.

Report from Central Florida:
The renters across the street packed up and left this AM. We usually have a number of Canadian snowbirds, many from Ontario. Haven't seen a Canadian plate for days.

Went to Publix this AM. Store was pretty well stocked and people were keeping their distance. Did see one guy pay with cash ~ after he licked his fingers to separate the bills (Yuck!!) Poor cashier.

No eggs to be found. DD in Chicago 'burbs can't find any, either.

My father has told me this morning he is experiencing shortness of breath and a cough. I am so scared for him! This is what I was afraid of! I am not sure if we can get him tested right now, our state is short on kits. I will look into it tomorrow if he does not feel better. :(

NY
<snip> Cuomo said during a late-morning news conference that the state's liquor authority is going to change its rule today to allow bars, restaurants and distilleries to sell their products off premises, so customers could purchase those without having to congregate at those locations.

"Just order it and stay at home," Cuomo said of food and the exception the state would made for alcoholic drinks so that those businesses aren't hurt.

I hope the shooting at the Missouri gas station is not linked to this in a round about way.

Here in London, I know Apple and Glossier are closed.
For a tiny moment, as I read your list I thought, ‘ooh, Anthropologie! I should pop into London tomorrow and take a look...’ And then I remembered.

Quoting myself. I find this utterly fascinating. The only state with no confirmed Covid 19 is the state with the worst opioid epidemic. Jmo

As of March 14, 2020, at 9:30 p.m., West Virginia, through its public health lab, has tested 39 residents for COVID-19, with 38 results coming back negative and one test pending.

West Texas 2nd Expedition trip today report - Wal-Mart - A little busier than normal. Out of all kitchen basics except coffee and sugar. Limited sugar and peanut butter. Barely any red meat or hamburger. Plenty of pork , chicken, cheeses , and lunch meats. Had milk and eggs. Limited bread. No paper goods of any kind. When checking out was asked by checker "How many plastic bags do you need ?" Business is so big that they are running out of plastic bags.....Gas and cigarettes place. No problems.....Pet Smart - Dog food was in stock. Was surprised as there have been "runs" on dog food in this area........ All dining out/in food places are open. There is less business at them though.......Normal amount of people out on the streets at this time of the week, even though schools are closed ...... Except for food shortages and school closings it is "business as usual " out here in the West Texas oil patch. There is anxiety about possible future job losses due to the price of oil going way down...... That is all.......Leftover homemade potato soup lunch time for us ........hopethispostingmadesensecody22....moo
I read a bit ago that Chick-Fil-A is closing all indoor dining rooms, will be drive thru only.. I wonder if other restaurants will soon follow suit.
