My father has told me this morning he is experiencing shortness of breath and a cough. I am so scared for him! This is what I was afraid of! I am not sure if we can get him tested right now, our state is short on kits. I will look into it tomorrow if he does not feel better. :(
Does he have a fever?

The haphazard state, county, city closings are IMO ridiculous. IMO the federal government needs to step up and close.

Good Morning everyone.

This is a very difficult thread to monitor, so we are needing cooperation from all members.

Absolutely NO politicizing, and if you refer to or quote factual information that is linked earlier in the thread, either provide the link or note in your post that the link is upthread. We have to ensure that info stated as fact has been contained in MSM or scholarly articles and can't possibly be reviewing the thread to verify that your info came from a linked article.

Thanks.

Does he have a fever?

He hasn't taken his temperature. He is insisting he is "fine" and is "not sick" despite this. My mother is trying to keep him home. I hope he does not go to his volunteer job and he stays home out of caution.

File this one under the category of "Alleluia"! The Govs of NY, NJ and CT are COORDINATING ACTIVITIES!!!!!

Coronavirus: NY, NJ, Connecticut coordinate restrictions on restaurants, limit events to fewer than 50 people

Quotes from article:

The governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, citing “a lack of federal direction and nationwide standards” announced Monday they have agreed to jointly reduce density throughout the region, closing movie theaters, most restaurants and bars and limiting public gatherings to fewer than 50 people.

The federal government has “been behind from day one on this crisis,” said New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. “States, frankly, don’t have the capacity or the power to make up for the federal government.” He called on U.S. officials to coordinate closings across the country, saying state and local leaders have adopted a “hodge podge” of different actions.

“We have agreed to a common set of rules that will pertain in all of our states, so don’t even think about going to a neighboring state because there’s going to be a different set of conditions,” Cuomo said during a joint media call with fellow Democratic Govs. Ned Lamont of Connecticut and Phil Murphy of New Jersey on the fast-spreading COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S.

Effective by 8 p.m. Monday, the states will prohibit crowds of 50 or more, including private parties; restaurants and bars will need to close, except for takeout or delivery orders; bars, gyms and movie theaters also will need to close, as will nontribal casinos. The rules are in effect “until further notice,” Murphy said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday urged people across the U.S. to cancel or postpone events with 50 or more attendees for the next eight weeks to try to contain the fast-moving coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said he will sign an executive order, set to take effect Tuesday, that effectively closes restaurants, bars and cafes.

Over the weekend, Cuomo announced that New York City’s public school system will begin to shut down this week to help combat the spread of the new virus, which has infected 729 people throughout the state as of Sunday afternoon.

Cuomo has also announced a ban on gatherings of 500 or more people across the state “for the foreseeable future.” He said the state was trying to limit the contagion by reducing “density,” or events where a large number of people gather in a close environment.

Cuomo said Friday that New York was ramping up its testing, having just received federal approval to allow 28 labs in state to begin running coronavirus tests. He said at the time the state should be able to process 6,000 tests a day. The state has been able to run a total of just 3,000 tests, he said Friday.

Adding this here regarding NY school closings. I just watched ABC Eyewitness news at noon "The mayor is admitting there is a very real possibility schools may be closed through the end of the school year." I can't imagine.

Yes, I believe schools will be closed for the rest of the year.

This is not going away in 2 weeks or a month, at least not at the rate we are going.
