Fl Gov. DeSantis just wrapped up a press conference. Main takeaway is that he has
refused to shut down restaurants, bars, spring
break gatherers, etc. Says it's up to local jurisdictions to handle it. Left it open that
they will be meeting tomorrow to discuss.
edit:
Gov. also did not postpone statewide Primary
Elections.
LIVE UPDATES: Florida officials say primary election will go on as scheduled Tuesday

very disappointing.

Well, the wandering homeless people are not in contact (usually) with masses of people like the recent back-up at our airports.
Unfortunately, the wandering homeless people are often in close contact with First Responders including EMTs, firefighters and police. It needs to be addressed.

Just try taking a break from it and regroup for a little while. You are just overloaded and it is not abnormal at all. This is causing a lot of anxiety. Try a walk or a funny movie. Good luck and stay safe.
Excellent advice. Thank you. No reading or thinking about the virus for a while.

How helpful are the restrictions on businesses in some states but hardly any restrictions enforced in FL, SC and other states ? It is like the spring break states are going to keep things open as long as that last dollar is in grasp regardless of the open businesses and tourists spreading infection in the tourist state and then taking it back home with them

PSA- from my horse and dog forum-
Some feed stores are expected to be shut down
so plan to have Pet and Livestock Feed on hand.

Seriously? Why? Where else are we expected to get feed for farm animals? I mean I have some stocked up. But if this is going to last till summer I don't have enough.

It scares me to think that we may be told to shelter in place and cannot get out to go for a walk. That is my link to sanity. But I will survive!
So Sorry, dyannaON I hope this turns around for you. Maybe you can some time each day applying for jobs and submitting resumes. Sharpen you phone skills. Get a family member or friend to pose as employer.
Prays for you and your family. This too shall pass ! MOO

Someone please help me here- I can’t watch or read his statements right now. What did he mean? That the lockdowns will be in place until perhaps July or August, or that we may well still have “some” restrictions until then.

I will not be able to function right now if I think he’s been told lockdown until July or August.

It goes to the many statisticians that say the peak will be the end of May/First of June... and that is just the FIRST wave... and there may be 2 more waves (second wave being bigger) before it dies out/we have a vaccine MOO

Oakland sheriff: Won't arrest restaurant closure violators

Ferndale — Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Monday that his office will respond to reports of restaurants and bars that don't comply with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's shutdown order but does not plan to arrest violators.

"We're not planning to go out and arrest people," he said during a news conference with other county officials to discuss actions to combat the spread of coronavirus. However, Bouchard said his office will verify reports of noncompliant businesses and report them to the county health department. "We're looking to inform people and protect them," he said...
