STAY HOME,,,SAVE LIVES

Probably useless babble but I figured out grocery lines today. Get in front of your cart. You can keep your distance from the person in front of you and at least force the person behind you (with no cart) to get off your heels. Jmo.

Coronavirus in Colorado: Latest COVID-19 updates across the state

“2:30 p.m.:
The Denver Zoo will shut down at 4 p.m. Monday and stay closed indefinitely.

"The Zoo will continue to assess the situation, and reopen and resume normal operations at the appropriate time," the zoo said in a news release Monday, following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about limiting gatherings to less than 50 people.

Staff will still be able to work onsite and take care of the zoo's nearly 3,000 animals.”

The above is good for my avatar, Dobby and his the other friends at the Denver zoo:)

There's now a constant dialogue going on in my head. I'm an at risk senior stuck in "corona limbo" missing my old washer/dryer ownership days. I'm already feeling lazy as I self-isolate. I just want to go do laundry within my building if no one is using the laundry room on my floor.

Listen into my Mind Chatter... "if I wipe things down and wear gloves...no, you could get the virus!...oh come on, you can't wash those sheets by hand...yeah, but you might die from this decision...it's not worth it! When will I ever be able to wash my sheets, towels, and bulky items again? Maybe summer or next spring, or as soon as there's a vaccine in a year. Shut up...no, you shut up. I'm doing it...no, you can't...listen to Italy.

So now I have endless time. We have a indoor pool. I live in a condo. Would you go swimming? Lol. Cause you know the girl who uses pool like 2x a year now has a massive urge to use. Lol.
NOPE- Sorry, nor would I bath with potential
positive cases.

Is anyone else getting in some gardening?

I've been taking advantage of the nice weather and getting some outside prep in. The birds are blissfully unaware of social distancing :p they're singing their hearts out and pairing off. I'll be planting some radish, lettuce, spinach, kale and carrot today. Extra thankful for these seeds and soil this year! The mint is coming in strong... now we just need limes and rum. ;)

My HOA doesn't allow vegetable gardens, not even in containers. I am looking forward to my flower garden but it's too early to plant anything.

Can you ask on Social Media for a volunteer or paid helper to do your laundry?

“Over the next 15 days, Trump said all Americans are advised to educate kids from home when possible, avoid discretionary travel, avoid gathering in groups of 10 or more, and avoid eating and drinking in public places like bars, restaurants and food courts.

“If everyone makes this change or these critical changes and sacrifices now, we will rally together as one nation and we will defeat the virus,” Trump said. “With several weeks of focused action we can turn the corner and turn it quickly.”

When it comes to schools, the White House says governors should close schools “in communities that are near areas of community transmission,” according to a handout provided to media at the White House.”

Trump: Americans should home-school kids; avoid travel, gatherings of 10+ and restaurants for 15 days

I like this message. Unfortunately I believe it came vastly too late and after dangerous minimization.

The volunteers are heroes!

Someone please help me here- I can’t watch or read his statements right now. What did he mean? That the lockdowns will be in place until perhaps July or August, or that we may well still have “some” restrictions until then.

I will not be able to function right now if I think he’s been told lockdown until July or August.

He means the virus spread, I believe. Not total lockdowns. They’re just trying to slow it so they can stagger the patients who will need hospitalizations.

BUT THE NEW GUIDELINES ARE ONLY FOR THE NEXT 15 DAYS, NOT UNTIL SUMMER, AS DR FAUCI CLARIFIED.

What was actually clarified by the reporters and commentators, Dr. Gupta, etc. is that they’ll be reassessed again in 15 days and most likely kept in place at that point. Then reassessed again at another point, and so forth... It was explained why many things are being broken down into manageable chunks.

CDC:

Interim Guidance for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Guidance as of 3/15/2020

“Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities. Examples of large events and mass gatherings include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies. These events can be planned not only by organizations and communities but also by individuals.

Therefore, CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.

Events of any size should only be continued if they can be carried out with adherence to guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing. When feasible, organizers could modify events to be virtual.

This recommendation does not apply to the day to day operation of organizations such as schools, institutes of higher learning, or businesses. This recommendation is made in an attempt to reduce introduction of the virus into new communities and to slow the spread of infection in communities already affected by the virus. This recommendation is not intended to supersede the advice of local public health officials.”

Some of this is now outdated (I know, already!) and was updated today. Such as the 50 being reduced to 10, etc.

I think this thread is on the verge of being maxed out.

What is this, a thread a day keeps the virus away? I can not keep up, no matter how much I want to.

Thanks to everyone keeping us updated.
