Watching the Today's show.... A new study, it take 17 rolls of TP for a family of 4, for 14 days.

Locking mine in the safe, I know they're coming for it.
I was thinking about this earlier. We use about 8 of those 1,000 sheet rolls for our family of 4 every two weeks, but that's when everyone is gone all day. Now that the kids are home all day and night, it might take more.

I am a semi-retired Independent small businessman ( I like my work too much to retire completely). Yall's advice makes sense to me. I am now gonna go put on a clean tshirt, comb my hair, and shave.....moo

DH waited around the office yesterday for their IT person to install the company software on his laptop so he can work from home. IT guy just returned from vacation (FL) and hit the ground running with many clients asking for the same service. When the guy said he was at least an hour behind, DH headed home to await a call for remote installation of the program. He stopped at Kroger on his way home for a few items and was changing into jeans/sweatshirt when his phone rang. He raced into the kitchen in his underwear because he didn't want to miss the call. When he was off the phone and waiting for the system to download, I went into the kitchen and said, "I knew you would loosen up your work wardrobe a little when working at home, maybe even stay in pajamas in the morning, but I didn't expect your attire to be quite that loose!" :D

Reuters: WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION SPOKESMAN SAYS THERE ARE TWO CONFIRMED CASES OF CORONAVIRUS AMONG STAFF

LAUSANNE, March 17 (Reuters) - A World Health Organization official said on Tuesday that two staff members have been confirmed to be infected with coronavirus.

Reuters: "The staff had left the office and then at home showed symptoms and were confirmed with COVID-19," WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier told journalists, referring to the official name of the disease caused by the virus. "We do therefore have two confirmed cases."

South Korea continues to show signs that its epidemic is abating, today reporting 74 new cases. Their massive testing effort aimed at identifying and isolating infected patients was no doubt a key part of their success in combatting virus, as were their early mitigation steps. They can, under the public health laws. Exceptions, most likely

So do you think it’ll be safe for citizens to do this? People in our community are ready to stop the influx of tourists

My hubby is doing that now where he works. He is the only IT person at that site. He has been hopping. Yesterday he said he couldn't even eat his lunch in peace. He takes meds for RA. They have set up some precautions for him, but truthfully I don't think he should be there. He's not planning on working from home. He says it's not possible unless they close the plant. Too much hands on.

On another note- a rural area down the road is running their normal school bus routes, two hours delayed, every day delivering free breakfast and lunch for all children aged 1-18!

We homesteaded for 25 years but sold our farm 4 years ago. We could've eaten for over a year without going to the store. With the money we saved by not buying fruit, veggies, meat, milk and cheese, I always stayed stocked up on coffee, flour, sugar, yeast etc. We weren't preppers, just old fashioned.
So I've enjoyed watching several homestead families on you tube even before this virus showed up. For those who are staying home now and getting tired of staring at those walls, I suggest checking them out. Now is when all those babies are born on the farms. Baby chicks, calves, goats, sheep, rabbits. They're adorable. There's also tips and instructions on gardening, both small and large scale. We can start planting indoors and eating some things within a week or two. Microgreens are perfect for this situation and so far everywhere I've checked everything needed to get started is available and in stock online. Delivered within a few days!

I thought we were prepared but every time I look at our supplies, I think it's not enough. I can imagine maybe that's how hoarders feel and they just keep buying.

I just returned from shopping for more supplies. Until yesterday I thought that I was all set but when I learned that we many still be going through this until summer, I thought that I would feel more comfortable with a few more of certain items (COFFEE). There were lots of bare shelves and I had to make many substitutions but I feel good about what I was able to get (COFFEE). What really surprised me was the attitude of the employees in the 2 stores that I went to. I live in a small, rather isolated area and our people are always so down to earth, helpful, and friendly. Not today. I understand how they feel. So many other people are home in their jammies and the grocery store employees are working their butts off. I made a point of thanking them profusely and even thanked them by their names (from their employee badge).

Ok, so now I am done, done, done! I am in for at least a month. My 2 little dogs are the best company and somehow seem to take up all of my time. How did I let that happen?

I have a question I can’t find an answer to hoping y’all can help! If a town or county wants to close its borders except for delivery service and family of locals, could they legally do that? In the US?

Declaring a State of Emergency by state and/or federal authority, provides for quarantine and restricted access. I see mandatory restricted access used during hurricanes. It usually allows emergent personal, fire/reuse/police, medical equipment companies, pharmacies, hospitals, electric providers, trucking and transportation freedom of movement. I have not seen delivery services included.

Moo...

I shared this a few threads ago but thought some might not have seen it. I like coffee in the morning, but I enjoy tea in the afternoon and evening. Yesterday I poured myself a glass of wine at 2:00 - it was 5:00 somewhere :D - but that's rare.

THE EIGHT BEST TEAS FOR STRESS & ANXIETY

  • CHAMOMILE TEA. With a smooth flavor that makes it easy to sip on, chamomile tea is one of the most popular tea varieties. ...
  • PEPPERMINT TEA. Peppermint tea is a refreshing sip that is delicious both hot and cold. ...
  • VALERIAN ROOT TEA. ...
  • LEMON BALM TEA. ...
  • LAVENDER TEA. ...
  • GREEN TEA. ...
  • ROSEHIP TEA.

Thanks for posting this list Bette. I have Chamomile and Peppermint teas. And I also have tea called Breathe Easy: Breathe Easy®

The Breathe Easy tea is my go-to tea when sick, but I had forgotten all about it. DH continues to cough this morning and he says it hurts to breathe. I'm not coughing as much but it hurts when I take a deep breath right now. Making us some tea now.
