That may be true and probably is but I hate purchasing clothing in a store. I don't know who has touched the item, tried it on, etc. No good answer except don't buy clothes for a while!!!
Just wash the items in hot water before you put them on. ;)

10News on Twitter
I just received an alert text in Florida saying "Be kind, responsible, Respect social distancing of 6ft., keep groups less than 10 people". It was an alarm like you would get for an Amber Alert

ETA: It was titled Imminent Severe Alerts

I really feel for all the people who have loved ones in care and cannot visit them. I know it’s imperative right now to keep them protected from the virus.
The visitors and interaction are what keep the spirits up for so many of these people.:(

I know it is absolutely horrendous. I’ve spent months and months in hospital over the years and desperately watched the clock every day for visiting time. Seeing my parents and family was the only thing keeping me going.

The only positive is that it will stop some people stealing hand sanitizer.

The possible 20% unemployment to come was the biggest eye-opener today.

I’m fuming! I worked from home today and my DH was at our business. One of our business neighbors dropped by and spoke to my DH. My DH was too nice and didn’t ask him to leave but he maintained his distance. Meanwhile this guy proceeds to tell my DH he just got back from Italy 1 month ago and tried to contain a cough in my DH’s presence.

Signs are going up tomorrow and doors are going to be locked. We don’t have retail traffic so I never dreamt I’d have to protect from idiots!

My dentist emailed me. His office will be closed until further notice, except for a dental emergency, such as broken tooth, abscess or if in severe pain. I'm sure it's same for other dentists too?
I can't imagine how busy they will be after this crisis is over, whenever that is.
Let's stay healthy everyone!

Who would be the most likely to receive these checks?

Back in the Bush day, the IRS. Taxpayers received, best I remember, it was two.

They can issue faster than the state. Social Security said it would delay all SSI and SSA, if they had issue. The Unemployment system does not have the software capability. It would take to long to set up new division design software, and try to hire and train staff, who would have to work form home, due to the new 10 person rule.
Moo...

I wonder if smoking have something to do with the fact that there are so many more men dying compared to women, especially among the 60+ and 70+? I would guess that it's (been) more common that men smoke than women did in Italy.

What's interesting is that there are so many more smokers among men in China (very few women smoke). Maybe they'll tease that out of their data.

I don't know if you all saw the Chinese data, it's here:

Why Covid-19 is so dangerous for older adults

You can look at the chart by age. 18% of people over 80, who contracted the virus, died. Whereas only about 3-4% of 60 year olds and only 1-2% of 50 year olds.

Eventually, we are all going to come into contact with it...stay healthy, everyone. Boost your immune systems as best you can (sleep!)

Men with high blood pressure are significantly more prone to hypokalemia than women are. In other words, their potassium levels are lower. Last thread, I linked one of the new data sets on COVID-19. They are finding level of severity corresponds with potassium levels. Get that potassium in!

https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/01.STR.0000014410.88873.F4

Which Foods are Rich in Potassium?
High blood pressure medications often include a diuretic which is why potassium supplement is also often prescribed.

In my neck of the woods, 39 cases in the state and the locals are acting like nothing is going on. People I work with are still going to work. I am really expecting to get in big trouble for not going to work.

It would be very weird to mandate testing, there’s no treatment for it.
And: per Dr. Birx:
Remarks by President Trump, Vice President Pence, and Members of the Coronavirus Task Force in Press Briefing | The White House
This epidemic will be stopped at the community level. Those are the individuals — it’s Americans and their response that will get us over this hump. And that’s why, yes, we’ll have testing available.
Let’s remind all of us most respiratory diseases are contagious.

So if you have any respiratory symptoms, you want to protect yourself and treat yourself, but you also want to protect others. And so let’s everyone assume, when they have a respiratory illness, that you have a contagious illness because if it isn’t allergies, it’s contagious. And let’s use those precautions across the board, and let’s — when you get a negative test, that means you’re negative that day. That doesn’t mean that you couldn’t get the virus spreading overnight, because it replicates in your nose and your nasal secretions, and you would have a positive test tomorrow
That’s exactly what I heard them say. If it changed, I wanted to know. Thanks.

I wonder why ?......moo

IMO
I heard there was some flaw in their spam filters that were flagging legitimate coronavirus things from way out left virus things.

I am betting they tried to make a change to their filters and it didnt work and started causing legitimate virus news to get filtered.

Where are you? When the first 2 cases hit Italy, everyone was the same way.
