Louisiana 267 cases, 6 deaths
Getting scary for us in Louisiana. No reported cases yet in Acadiana but not many tested either. Just setup large screening center in Lafayette and is staffed by local hospitals and Acadian Ambulance EMTs. Our local US Congressman made an ignorant video calling our governor’s move to shuttering of businesses a dumb move because it’s only a virus.
Harvey Weinstein has been moved to Fishkill Prison in upstate NY.
Wow, what a name for a prison.

Just a quick “hi all” to my very appreciated pandemic support group. I’m trying to catch up on the thread and on today’s news. Didn’t get to watch any of the pressers live today.

Busy day as I try to navigate a bunch of kids who are now home- with very unorganized school assignments being provided (or not provided as the case may be).

What a world this has become. I’m still trying to process.
I feel for you. I am a teacher on the East Caost and our governor closed our schools before we had a chance to come up with a plan. The teachers now are scrambling in how to traverse the world of online learning. We simply had no heads up and are doing the best we can.

My sister is also a teacher in Virginia- I just spoke with her this morning and she’s as busy as a squirrel before a storm!! Much for her to get squared away and figured out.

What day is this? Seriously. Where in the week are we?

Even when I stood in front of my kitchen calendar, I struggled to figure out the day, until I remembered yesterday was St. Patrick's Day...so today must be March 18.

Today is Wednesday.

I feel the same way. I miss my routine. I will never say again in my life that I don't feel like going to work today.

We in the U.S. will see a rather significant rise in cases as testing increases.

It is NOW that I find it most important to self quarantine.

I'm working on preparing my garden. Turning the soil over, adding some organic matter, and getting ready to plant.

Not a big garden, for sure, but I like to do some tomato's, peppers, beans, and such. Then in the fall I'll put in turnips, beets, and carrots.

Did you know you can bury turnips, beets, and carrots and they'll keep all winter? I've done it. I'll dig a hole, line it with straw, throw the goodies in there, cover it up with dirt.

Better yet, I like to dig the hole, right size for a 5 gallon bucket, throw the turnips in the bucket, set the bucket in the hole, cover the top with a piece of plywood, then throw a foot of dirt on top, and maybe some mulch on top of that. I've done this, in the late fall, and dug 'em up in March and voila!

Anyway, self quarantine for me :) I'm practicing being a hermit!!!

If you need any Pilot articles, let me know. I subscribe.

GREAT!!! They have an article on the Comfort deployment. Seems there maybe be a delay, per Twitter. Thought the pilot article might have details.

Could you check the article and maybe post the part about repairs/deployment plans?

Thanks....

I never knew a day of working from home could get so hectic.

Enjoying some green tea and toast with olive oil as a snack right now.

Had this song going through my head today

I think some politicians fear losing constituents, so they allow bars & restaurants to remain business as usual. Sadly, said politician might still LOSE constituents.

Mayor Goodman is looking out for her donor class, not the "little people".

"Data analyzed by the CDC show that younger Americans are at substantial risk of experiencing serious medical problems from the coronavirus. That data runs counter to some of the early messaging from health officials in other parts of the world."

Beachgoers at Clearwater Beach, Florida, are trying to enjoy the weather while keeping a space of 6-10 feet between family groups to help protect from the spread of the coronavirus. Many public spaces across the country are shuttered amid the pandemic. https://t.co/VF43xdJLCx ABC News on Twitter
