Indeed, like I said “one”, unfortunately.

I’ve been on this forum since very early on, and like most of you that have been here awhile, I saw this coming weeks ago. But I have to say, even with the early knowledge of what was to come, this still feels completely surreal. I can only imagine how it must feel to those that weren’t following closely.

A couple of things I would like to suggest to all - I believe this lockdown is more than likely going to last close to 18 months - if that is the case, a lot of “comfort foods” won’t be produced during this time period. If you have a” favorite “ get a little extra....

Also, any “normalcy” you can find in your life at this time - take the time to enjoy it. Our world is going to change for the foreseeable future, and when this all ends, we will find a new normalcy. So enjoy what you know, while you can, yet maintain your distance. Spend quality time with family, even if it’s through FaceTime or text or whatever.

I know I’m guilty of watching everything unfold too closely - but at this point, I figure I’ll have plenty of time to do that in the near future. Get outside if you can, read some books to children, put on a record and dance with your partner.

Don’t get SO caught up in the disaster at hand that you forget to live a little. Don’t lose sight of what we’re fighting for - beyond that of our own lives.

Not my opinion, but rather my belief.

And for those of Faith - now is the time for prayer.

Prepare for the worst, hope and pray for the best. What the entire world is about to go through is going to bring out the best, and unfortunately, the worst in people. My prayer is that the “best” shines through.

My deepest gratitude to all my new found friends here on WS. I know in my heart that I have sincerely seen some of the best humanity has to offer, posting on these threads. And I’m eternally grateful for the prayers I have received.

My thoughts and prayers to all!!

Stay inside, stay safe, stay strong

Charlotte Lawrence says she's tested positive for coronavirus - CNN

The 19-year-old "Joke's On You" singer says she tested positive a few days ago, but believes she will be fine.

"Hey guys. A couple days ago, my doctor informed me that I too have COVID-19. A lot of us will," she wrote on social media.

She continued: "I am going to be completely fine. But many who get it won't be if too many people get sick too quickly."

She urged her followers to think about the well being of others and stay inside.

"So this is not me asking for prayers, for love, for sweet messages. This is me pleading for you all to protect those less able to survive this virus. Stay inside. Please. Whether you feel sick or not, stay inside," she wrote, adding, "Think about your parents. Think about your grandparents. I love so many people who might have a very rough time getting through this. Think about someone else getting your loved ones sick because they didn't listen, because they thought they knew better. Because they were selfish."

I tried staying away from this thread but decided to come over today. This has prob been asked before but if someone texts positive for covid-19 what is the treatment plan? I know it’s a respiratory illness so would nebulizer breathing treatments be a good idea? Just wanted to get some advice.

I don't have the citation right here, I just wanted to respond quickly. Nebulizer's are being discontinued in some clinical circumstances because the user's out blow after taking the dose can aerosolize any COVID the user may have, spreading out into the air.

And even then unfortunately some would buy up more than they need... so do we do vouchers? Do we become a communist country where everything is regulated?
Scary, isn’t it?

Don't worry, you won't turn into a communist country just because supplies are limited to each purchaser. It's a fairly common practice for stores to put limits on amounts that any one person can buy. It's unfortunate that it is necessary, but it certainly doesn't make me uncomfortable. In fact, I feel better knowing that everyone has a better chance of getting what they need. After all, the situation requires it.

The margin of error always seems to be +/-3%. I think this would apply to compliance for the Shelter in Place program the White House and CDC rolled out.

If state/federal government don't comply they risk being on the bottom of list for federal assistance ..MOO

If folks don't comply, I think the President will lock this country down, including neighborhood. in a heart beat. China had armed guards patrolling the streets, Italy does now. Do we think this can't/won't happen in the US?

We can not destroy lives, risk our healthcare workers, or our economy over non compliance.

Moo....
If things don’t improve soon, I hope the big box stores can at least figure out a way to supply staples & keep their workers safe. My fave cashier was working this a.m., I mentioned I thought he looked tired, he said they woke him up, so many had called on, he gave up his day off.
Plus they have exceedingly high stress levels after Cynthiana converged yo our store, avoiding their WMT.
Which that WMT NEVER closed they claim they sanitized.
Idk how a big box sanitizes & remains open.

Hi and welcome. :)

I don’t recommend anyone here can provide medical advice as this is the role for doctors to answer. Jmo.

If you have a concern or question, call your doctor.

I’m not minimizing or dismissing your question by any means, but want to be very careful about people dishing out medical advice here, as well as people looking for medical advice on the web. Moo. We can certainly help to see if there is reference on this from Mayo, CDC, etc.

Temperature, Humidity and Latitude Analysis to Predict Potential Spread and Seasonality for COVID-19 by Mohammad M. Sajadi, Parham Habibzadeh, Augustin Vintzileos, Shervin Shokouhi, Fernando Miralles-Wilhelm, Anthony Amoroso :: SSRN

margarita25 posted an article yesterday about Colorado being in a zone where the worst outbreaks are occurring.

Here’s another link showing the outbreaks are in a belt across the globe from 30-50 degrees N latitude. Also the temperatures and lower humidity are similar in all of the hotspots. Almost all of the US is in this zone. :(

But it gives me hope that it seems to be behaving like a seasonal virus. Come on WARM SPRING!!!

(article was written last week but was updated yesterday):

Interpretation: The distribution of significant community outbreaks along restricted latitude, temperature, and humidity are consistent with the behavior of a seasonal respiratory virus. Additionally, we have proposed a simplified model that shows a zone at increased risk for COVID-19 spread. Using weather modeling, it may be possible to predict the regions most likely to be at higher risk of significant community spread of COVID-19 in the upcoming weeks, allowing for concentration of public health efforts on surveillance and containment.

Of course, @margarita25. I would never tell someone what to do, nor would I take medical advice from a web forum. I am sharing the information as a responsible person who has first hand knowledge of this concern with nebulizers. I have to be careful with my sources. FWIW.

Here is a peer reviewed article from the Canadian Medical Association Journal:

RE: Transmission of Corona Virus by Nebulizer- a serious, underappreciated risk!
