Ridiculous, IMO, having the states in competition with the buying power of the federal (U & I) government. Means we are paying taxes to compete with the buying power of our own states, unless there is a hefty state tax, then it means we are subsidizing 2 entities in competition with each other for buying supplies. I notice that one of the people on the president's side denied that there was competition. I don't believe that for one moment.
What's the answer? Should the States not try to gain access to some supplies on their own then? Should the feds not try to procure their own supplies ?

I don't understand the controversy? I am trying to find TP when I go out, which is very rarely, and by online ordering.

And I told my kids to do the same. At some point, one of us will succeed. Luckily we all have a little on hand for now, while we search for future needs.

But there is nothing wrong with all of us trying to gain access to the supply. JMO

I almost gave up the other day posting here for the same reason. I just didn't have any more energy to argue if it was going to happen. Had a couple of people I unfriended on facebook. They were saying really stupid things. Decided I needed smarter friends.... :D:D
I don't know if we are all smarter, but a bunch of us are darn sure interesting.....LOL !....moo

McConnell says stimulus checks would go to most Americans, as senators eye higher amount

An outstanding question has been whether the aid would be restricted based on income and work status.

McConnell indicated job status would not be a factor, and that the money would go to unemployed workers and those recently laid off; those still working; and retirees, even if they're already receiving Social Security checks.

While officials have indicated the ultra-rich would not be eligible, McConnell said Thursday the checks would still go to everybody "from the middle class on down. Period."

How the middle class is defined can be a contentious subject when stimulus checks are on the line. One source told Fox Business Network that the amount would start to reduce for those making $75,000 and above -- and the checks would be limited to those who make $99,000 or less.

Let us all bow our heads. Doesn’t matter your religion. If you don’t believe, just give it a moment of silence.

Ty.

That always feels so good,
Exhale,
the things I've seen and learned,
because of this virus,
online and in RL.

That’s what bothers me. We knew the Chinese government was lying, the world knew they were lying, and we lost crucial time.
True, but that was then, and this is now. Our focus must be on today and tomorrow.

@Henry2326 I noticed people adjust their personal theory to their needs. Women that insist they must bring 4 kids to WMT will argue kids don’t carry, get or transmit, the college group believe only sundowners will die, sports fans believe it can’t possibly be transmitted in a bar, the anti government person calls hoax. When this first took off some felt it was everyone else’s job to stay home.
People want to do what they want, when they want with no regard for anyone else, imo. We need to follow Italy’s lead imo, one person per household out and about. Obviously some need help driving and walking, so some concessions, yes. But a family of 5? No. Because they have the capability of spreading it 5X faster. They are no longer a family of 5 in my eyes. They are a “cluster of 5.”

With the new private sector labs providing diagnostic tests, then will the feds pay all the bills for the testing? I believe both the president and the congress promise testing will be free for all citizens. So how will that work? Why would a private outfit provide free tests? Will patients have to pay up front then try to get the $$ back from the feds?

I can't imagine you having to go through anything like that, @Henry2326 You give the most up to date and accurate info. You've worked tirelessly and we appreciate you. Sorry that happened to you.

Man friend just had a freak out. I said to him- stop and listen- here it is- make your life ok with your creator, accept that you may die and embrace and appreciate every day you are here on earth. Stay inside, worry only about the next 24 hours(when you will shower, cook, watch tv,etc.) When your supplies run out go for more until then stay in. Reflect on your life and think of all your happy times. Stay connected with people you love via phone, etc. and everything really will be ok- it really will!

I don’t think anyone is arguing any different.

so anyone not washing their hands thoroughly after visiting the toilet could contaminate anything they touch. .
this scares the hell out of me! I also think it will be a factor in some cases. How many Xs are we in a public restroom and notice others not washing their hands at all, not even a rinse? At the casinos, most women I see in the large restrooms do not wash their hands, period. If you give them a dirty look, they might do a quick rinse, nothing more. Moo

Me, too. A family member of mine went to a bar for St. Patrick's Day....she spends a lot of time with my 91 year old grandmother (who has a birthday tomorrow and will be sure to have visitors, even though I said it's better to call her instead) but didn't see a problem with going out and partying. Apparently it's okay because it's only 1 night a year...she's not even Irish.
:( People are making such crazy decisions. I can understand if your grandmother forgets but those who go over, uuuuggghhh. I hope she stays safe and well.
BTW, the "she's not even Irish" cracked me up.

NEW YORK

CUOMO: "We did some projections. We think here in New York... we're looking here at a peak in about five or six weeks. We're looking at about 110,000 hospitalizations, about 25,000 to 37,000 people needing ICU beds. That vastly overwhelms our healthcare capacity."
Ryan Struyk on Twitter
FIVE or SIX more WEEKS till the peak in New York.

Wow.

Buckle up, folks, it's gonna be a bumpy spring.

This is going to get very problematic as some physicians are ordering a Respiratory Pathogen Panel (which does not include SARS-C0V-2) and costs about $2000 to the patient.

Thanks, I just can't believe the selfishness of it all...one night out is not worth my grandmother's life. This family member thinks it's "just a flu" and she's young and healthy so it won't be any big deal. I don't want to be told I'm fear-mongering...I'm just trying to keep people informed so that they make good decisions.
