This article is SO misleading:
Trump’s 500 Million Respirators Could Take 18 Months to Deliver

See:
beta.SAM.gov

The Contract Solicitation pdf states:
C.4 Contract Period of Performance
The Government has a requirement to acquire these items for both response to public health events, and preparedness. Due to
the COVID-19 response ongoing at the time of solicitation of this requirement, the Government has a need for some of the items
to be delivered quickly; offerors are to provide a proposed schedule for items that can be delivered quickly without overwhelming
the supply chain, with additional items delivered over a period not to exceed 18 months.
In an effort to not disrupt the current
supply chain during a national emergency, the Government is anticipating a split award resulting in multiple contracts for
incremental delivery of items over a period not to exceed 18 months. Proposed delivery schedules will be finalized and become
part of the award.

Have you listened to Governors' pressers around the country? They can't get masks. What's so misleading. The Fed can't either. It's not a conspiracy. We are not prepared for what is about to happen. Presidents past and present are accountable for the coming deaths, IMO.

TENNESSEE.....I'M ANGRY

Tennessee’s legislature has recessed until June 1 without doing what’s essential to
-ensure medical treatment for uninsured
-build up healthcare facilities, equipment & supplies
-provide needed relief for unemployed & struggling businesses
-conduct elections & basic local govt.

CRUISE SHIP NEWS....AGAIN...THIS IS GETTING SILLY

Majority of passengers from Grand Princess cruise ship who are quarantined at U.S. Air Force base in California reportedly refusing to be tested for the novel coronavirus. Coronavirus live updates: Quarantined cruise ship passengers reportedly refuse tests
STOP THE INSANITY AND BRING IN LAW ENFORCEMENT NOW! These people are lucky to have been rescued IMO from their own poor choices and now they want to leave and potentially infect loved ones and neighbours?

Quotes from article:

That quarantine period ends next week and passengers are eager to go home, which is apparently why many of them are refusing to be tested.

Only 300 passengers quarantined at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, have agreed to be tested, while the remaining 545 have declined, according to KGO. They were reportedly told that they are not required to be tested.[BBM]

"We didn't know for sure when we would get the results," Carmen Kilcullen, 86, of Northern California, told KGO by telephone Thursday. "In case results came in later, we'd have to stay."[BBM]

Not going to engage in any blame-game. I am aware of all that the news reports and I have been watching all press conferences. I deal with facts. But I appreciate your commentary and especially all the information you post here. Thanks so much for doing that!

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not, but it is intriguing..
rbbm, lengthy article.
Copper Destroys Viruses and Bacteria. Why Isn’t It Everywhere?
''In the 1854 to 1855 cholera epidemic, Burq could not find any deaths of jewellers, goldsmiths, or boilermakers—all those who worked with copper. In people in the army, he found that musicians who played brass instruments (brass is partly copper) were also protected.

''Today, we have insight into why a person handling copper day in and day out would have protection from a bacterial threat: Copper is antimicrobial. It kills bacteria and viruses, sometimes within minutes. In the 19th century, exposure to copper would have been an early version of constantly sanitizing one's hands.''

Since then, studies have shown that copper is able to destroy the microbes that most threaten our lives. It has been shown to kill a long list of microbes, including norovirus, MRSA, a staph bacteria that has become resistant to antibiotics, virulent strains of E. coli that cause food-borne illness, and coronaviruses—possibly including the novel strain currently causing the COVID-19 pandemic.

If copper were more frequently used in hospitals, where 1 in 31 people get healthcare-acquired infections (HAI), or in high-traffic areas, where many people touch surfaces teeming with microbial life—it could play an invaluable role in public health, said Michael Schmidt, a professor of microbiology and immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina, who studies copper. And yet, it is woefully absent from our public spaces, healthcare settings, and homes.''

''On copper surfaces, bacteria and viruses die. When a microbe lands on a copper surface, the copper releases ions, which are electrically charged particles. Those copper ions blast through the outer membranes and destroy the whole cell, including the DNA or RNA inside''

If ever there was a time for massive Public Works Projects like in the 30s...or even for Bloomberg, Gates, Bezos, Musk and the house of Saud to invest just a little. Environmental protections can be dealt with, as we've seen in recent years... This and mask manufacturing.

Interesting! Brass is 60% copper. I have lots of brass things around the house that came from previous generations. This sounds ridiculous, but I'm going to use a brass bowl to hold my phone between use.

As long as you don't drink from a copper or brass object they are generally safe. There's a reason why copper household items that are used for food preparation have to be lined, either with tin or steel, to not cause poisonings. Copper and acidic substances are not a good combination.
