Does anyone know if that google implemented website that will help figure out if your symptoms are worthy of a test in the "pop up" testing stations in the parking lots of Walmart, Target, CVS is still on the table?

I also wonder if hubby n I had a very mild case a few weeks ago. Both had sore throats for nearly two weeks, dry cough but not excessive or painful. I had a severe headache for 3 days and red itchy, crusty eyes. No fevers. It is not allergy season here in Australia, we don’t suffer from that and mine started a little after his. Time will tell I suppose, be great if they get a antibody test.
Worry for my son who is a police officer and his wife a teacher who has a co morbidity (our schools are still open).

My son just returned from Australia. He did the online test as soon as he got home and he's been moved to schedule a test level. He claimed that he has allergy-related bronchitis. That's a new one for me!

His impression from Melbourne is that no one was taking the virus seriously. As long as the worst issue is bronchitis, be thankful.

i presume someone had to report it--when i talked to the prez, she didnt seem to
think it was a big deal

Maybe, ask would our liability insurance cover HHA if someone is exposed? With mandates of 10 or less, is the HOA liable. Sometimes focusing on the financial aspect can be more effective.

Moo...

Hello guys, I am fairly sure I have this blinking virus so thought I would hop on here and share with you. Hopefully to reassure.

I am in the UK, county of Bucks where a few people have sadly died already. I work in retail and my husband commutes to London on the train. So there was always a good chance I might get it. Also someone coughed in my face earlier this week (really appreciated that) and I was at the hairdresser last Saturday. She had been in London all week on a course, using the tube every day. So there are risks there, for sure.

My symptoms started yesterday morning. A huge headache which floored me. Luckily I wasnt due into the work so I stayed home in bed. I thought maybe it was stress related after a nightmare week, as I know headache isnt a typical starting point for the virus. In the afternoon, a cough started up. I do cough a lot anyway but not usually through the day. This cough has started to make my back ache now and although it isnt constant, I can have a bout that ends up in a squeaky kind of cough and leaves me shattered.

I am very very tired. Had a bath first thing today and have been in bed all day again. Although I would stay in my room anyway to keep from family, I would struggle at the mo to make coffee and toast. Thank God for Mr HKP.

I have a v low appetite. Have to be encouraged to eat like a child. This is not me at all!! Normally could eat like a horse all the time.

Weird one but I have a numb dry tongue. It feels almost scratchy but actually isnt. Hard to describe.

My eyes have on and off been dry and itchy. Not conjunctivitis but just something I noticed.

Stupidly, we have no thermometer (ordered one now). Sometimes in myself I feel v hot (like now, it's gone 9pm and my window is open for the breeze). Other times I am under the duvet with layers on and hot water bottle.

My legs ache a lot! But they often do, due to vit D deficiency. They are v uncomfortable tho, kept me awake last night. I was rationing the paracetamol but dont need to tonight thank goodness, we have supplies!

Earlier my chest felt a bit tight. My breathing was fine, I was just aware of it. If I take a deep breath in, I always cough out.

So you prob know but here in the UK we only test hospital cases now. This is really hard because I would love to know for sure. I went on NHS 111 online and completed the short questionnaire and it said my symptoms "suggest coronavirus infection", even without me confirming a high temperature. So I suppose I just have to take that as what's happening.

So we are following the guidance here. Husband and son will self isolate for 14 days and I will for 7 initially.

Right this minute, I do not feel too bad. Despite the paracetamol, the headache is trying to inch back in. Legs are aching. But I have eaten something and just had a cup of tea (of course...). My brain feels feverish which is the worst thing as I cant sleep. Cough has settled for now.

My biggest worry is that Mr HKP has asthma and it seems v likely he will get this too, although he is sleeping in another room and avoiding me as much as poss other than to deliver food and drink trays at the door bless him.

So right now, I'm not too bad at all which hopefully may be reassuring altho it is early days and I know we will possibly all react differently.

Incidentally I have controlled hypertension and take Losartan but have no intention of stopping taking it.

Ask me anything and if anyone has similar symptoms I'd be interested to know.

ETA age wise, I believe I would qualify as golden these days but only just ;)

HKP

HPK and Mr. HPK, hope you start feeling better soon. Hope you are getting plenty of rest. We are all here hoping you have a quick recovery. Thank you for taking the time to let us know your symptoms. Cyber hugs to you and Mr. HPK. Please keep us posted.

PLEASE SHARE WIDELY

WASHINGTON

Can your business make masks? Any business or group that can help donate or provide PPE (masks, gowns) to assist the COVID-219 response in Washington state should please call 360-999-6655.

According to teacher chatter, moves are already being made to donate gloves and other gear to hospitals. This is great and the right thing to do. I am concerned that next year, the money won't be there to purchase these items when classes resume. So yet another sacrifice the young may need to make if those with power don't act to protect our healthcare staff who urgently need supplies.

Although I have spent weeks already sitting at home, every once in a while I need to go out, for my mental health! I am elderly, have cancer currently NED, but can't be locked up forever without a human interaction. That's why, IMO, many elderly especially those past mid 70's to 80's & 90's are going out and living. They are not sick, or at least I am not sick, to expose anyone, and we simply don't have enough time left in our lives to worry about catching this and dying. Most of the places to go to have had to close or go to contactless interaction because my govenor decided he needed to puff up his chest and pull the daily press conference, limiting restaurants and bars to 10 people, (even funerals). This is only my opinion, but many people I read commenting in my local news agree. I went yesterday to a small boutique/wine shop in a small town near me just to get out. When she greeted me with a hugh smile, I almost burst into tears. Those of you who have people living with you can't imagine how lonely it is to be in a house for weeks, days, hours, minutes and not hear another voice. And no, talking on the phone isn't a replacement.

I am thinking the same thing, about hubby and I getting a mild case weeks ago. Actually, almost 2 months ago.

At the time we thought it was the flu. Fever, sore throats, cough, achy muscles, exhaustion. My husband came down with it Christmas week. I caught it from him about Dec 27th, and we were both pretty sick for about 10 more days. We assumed it was the flu and didn't seek any medical care.

I hope it was, so maybe we have some antibodies now?

Someone I know that was tested yesterday in KY had to provide name/date/location of a positive person he had been around, despite his symptoms. Then, his info was verified & he was tested, but not given a date to expect results, only to presume he is positive & isolate. He also filled out a questionnaire listing his in person contacts for the last 3 days. A lot of red tape. (ps, he’s not in our county, he’s south)

I get what you are saying. But the reality is, it isn't just chest-puffery. We can be infectious without knowing it. We can harm others who don't feel the same way. People who are younger than us. People who are sicker than us.

But I do share your feelings, and would share them even more if I weren't fortunate to have loved ones in my home. And I would deeply resent the rules we are being asked to follow. It sounds like the wine-shop lady really appreciated your patronage. We don't have to completely isolate. It's okay to go outside.

Our state chief medical doctor said to think of honey bees pollinating as they move plant to plant. People, too, are “pollinating” Covid as they go place to place.

Thousands of Americans stranded abroad as money, patience run out

These poor people. I am grateful to be isolated at home.

From your link - people had already been evacuated from places like China, cases were spreading around the world, and still people went on cruises and holidays. At what point do people have to take responsibility for their own poor decisions? They knew they should not take the trip, and yet they did. I would view this differently if they went overseas before it was an international crisis, but afterward ??

"The sudden closure of borders and cancellation of flights shocked many Americans overseas, even though some admitted that relatives - or their own common sense - had advised them against leaving the United States in the first place."

It is easy for people to pass judgement on others. No one really understands a situation until you are in it. You need to do what is best for you and don't worry about what others say. Everybody has an opinion. Talk is cheap. I am an introvert and I like being by myself. I don't have the gift of gab (how I have wished my whole life for it) but I do have a spouse and my pups. I also love quiet. I can imagine for a person that is not an introvert like me, it must be extremely difficult to be alone for weeks on end. I hope you do not stay lonely. I wish I could help.

Even if you feel well and don’t have symptoms, you could be spreading it to others. That is why social distancing is so important.
