Yes, I believe you should. I appreciate though, that it’s not always practical. Would your role allow you to work from home?
I’m part of a small company - as in an already cut-to-the-bone number of staff. Because I’m so far away from the office, I WFH as a matter of course - however as of Tuesday last week, the IT team had set up everyone possible with everything they need to work from home.
Thanks. It would be difficult but not impossible for our IT guy to set up - Its a one man operator -long term insurance co and its mostly liaising with clients and head office telephonically, now. Will see what he decides tomorrow.

Appears to be St. Mary’s Hospital, Ontario.

“More than 50 nurses have been exposed to COVID-19 at St. Mary's General Hospital, according to a news release from the Ontario Nurses' Association.

On Saturday, ONA President and RN, Vicki McKenna, said the nurses were exposed while caring for a patient in the emergency department who was screened for influenza, but not the coronavirus.

"Nurses were exposed on the patient that made the virus borne by air; the patient was not isolated," said McKenna in the release.

"Worst of all, nurses were unable to access N95 respirators when they performed the procedures, as their employer strongly discourages nurses wearing them."”

St. Mary's hospital worker tests positive for COVID-19
10:17 AM EDT March 21, 2020

It’s one of our main hospitals. What is scary is that there is a lot of elderly patients at this hospital. It’s literally up the road from me. I’ve used a few times but usually go to our other main hospital.
Scary situation
Eta it’s in Kitchener Ontario. Not to be confused with St Mary’s Ontario which is a small town close by. The hospital is named st Mary’s.

Not directed at you enelram.

I’m not going to take advice from china or the who for that matter, i’ll listen to cdc and local info for advice.

Jmo

Not directed at you, but at those who have not been here since thread #1. Many of us have, and we listened pretty much ONLY to science in those days. I would think that 99% of those who have been here since thread #1 will absolutely listen to WHO and scientists above politicians. I would name them here, but I don't want to speak for them..they can do so here. China data is shared and correct for the future of the paper they shared with more than ~72,000 (US not sharing as much papers) and WHO has been above board... more so than what I listen to from media from others in US. I have begun listening to the COCA telephone calls... which is CDC talking to the clinicians and it is VERY enlightening and new info that is NOT in the media . MOO

Perhaps @henry and @margarita want to chime in?

Front-line healthcare workers MUST be dressed like astronauts.

When I review the Wuhan footage by the journalist, everyone in the hospital is in full body containment, even the guy reading the CT scans.

This is what it is going to take to keep our healthworkers safe.

Why the Feds, FEMA, and CDC cannot get this done is beyond pathetic and absolutely unacceptable.

That should be the MOST IMPORTANT thing the government does right now. All of this can be produced in the US.

It should be produced in the US. Pres. Trump is unhappy with the situation and the virus? Well, here is the good moment to organize production in the country. Give new jobs, etc. Get it away from China. I know some hospitals are sending materials to those who sew to make protective gear for their workers.

I don’t sew. I know tons of people who do! How easy is it to organize it centrally? Very! And there are countries happy to sell their cotton. Uzbekistan comes to mind, but also, Turkey.

That is one major reason why I am stressing. The more I read, the more I get stressed.
I am afraid not to read the news because I used to not read the news and had no idea that this was going on. I am like a dog chasing its tail -

I know stressing about the unknown is useless and does not change anything.
BBM
We are all chasing our tails together, trust me. Hard to look, hard to look away.

TEXAS.....hear them sing at link....

94.9 KLTY's @BonnieOnAir was amazed by the Italians singing from their windows. So... with her friend, Danzel, she & her fellow residents in Downtown Dallas started something pretty inspiring too! #LeanOnMe #SpeakLove #TeamKLTY

Yes. The worst is yet to come in the US.

Think 3 weeks. Think April 12 will be a very different world for us in the US and for the UK.

I'm actually more worried about the UK. They don't have as much opportunity for geographic isolation and even though they have uniform healthcare, they do not have as many facilities that are up to current isolation standards.

Here is a FB link. I believed they are mostly centered in Washington, but they put info out on requests for other areas.

Crafters Against Covid-19 *PDX*

I was going to help sew masks, until I realized I must have tossed my sewing machine. It's been so long that I actually thought it was still in the house somewhere. (I'm not done looking yet.)
