If we close all drive-thrus, how on earth are the truckers who are bringing our vital supplies- from masks to TP - supposed to eat on the road? Sometimes a McDonalds is all there is for miles and miles.
Semi trucks do not go through drive throughs. The trucks wouldn’t fit.

Okay. Who wants to bet that large populated states will be on lockdown until at least 4/15/2020?

NEW YORK, March 22 (Reuters) - Nearly one in three Americans was under orders on Sunday to stay home to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic as Ohio, Louisiana and Delaware became the latest states to enact broad restrictions, along with the city of Philadelphia.

Let's face it, if they hadn't been slaughtering and eating wild mammals, this would not have happened.

As an anthropologist, this issue has troubled us for decades. We are not designed for this practice (🤬🤬🤬🤬 sapiens).

Oh well, too late now and probably not going to change in China (although they did outlaw slaughtering and using parts of wild cats, I believe).

So many reasons why bats and bat-related species are a problem but...that doesn't change habits of people on the ground in China. Look for China to enact some new measures.
They did ban the selling and eating of wild animal earlier this year. Their wet markets are now a thing of the past. They have been putting vast chicken farms in different places in America (look at Maryland and the Eastern Shore of VA) and President Trump today mentioned a new trade deal for them to obtain agricultural products from us. We have stringent procedures in place for the harvesting of our meat. Unfortunately, it took a global catastrophe for China to realize we are not a hunter/ gatherer society anymore.

I do not like this. Some folks are non-functional without this. And if a person with an autoimmune disorder discontinues this, it will take a full six weeks for it to kick in when they restart it. When not treated, people with lupus or RA can suffer actual damage to their bodies. I don’t think pharmacy boards should decide if a patient should be treated or not.

I have Ménière’s Disease, an auto immune disorder. I need to check my pharmacy to see where it’s coming from & supplies. Without it.. then falls, fractured ribs, concussion & possibly death from brain bleeding. Dang I never thought..well some pharmacies won’t renew the drug that’s used for this auto immune disorder because its a Class A drug & if you aren’t at the end of scrip.. NO more for at least 2-3 weeks

In my town the delivery truck can barely fit in the parking lots, let alone random big rigs.
I think most eat at a truck plaza, at least in my area.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion.
I don’t see jeopardizing low wage men & women to keep a drive thru open. Or jeopardizing the public. As we dis used yesterday or the day before, GA restaurants reported drive thru personnel tested positive. Linked on last thread.

Not here, some large pickups barely fit.
Our fast food restaurants are more in the heart of town, not too many next to the interstate.
Semi trucks do not go through drive throughs. The trucks wouldn’t fit.

turning HSN off. Curtis Stone has me craving real food and you cannot have real food if you don't cook and I don't cook - hate it. Maybe my spouse will take up cooking, I wish.

Huge thanks to @GISAID and @institutpasteur, we've updated auspice with 21 new genomes from France (red dots below and auspice)! All but 2 of these new genomes fall into two previously identified French clusters, the other 2 cluster with each other

I will take lockdown until 4/15. Anything I can do that makes a difference. Don't like it but it is only two more weeks. Bring it on.

Virginia teens allegedly recorded themselves coughing on produce in grocery store: police
Two Virginia teens allegedly recorded themselves coughing on produce in a local grocery store last week and uploaded the video on social media, police said on Friday
Yup! A friend of mine was in Applebee’s before lockdown & a group of college dudes at the bar were coughing on each other, laughing and causing a scene. I reported them, the mgr really lacked interest. One more reason to be leery of drive thru restaurants. Fewer persons working, fewer eyes.....moo

1391 kids tested.
12% positive for #COVID19.
Average age 6.7. 48.5% had no fever.
15% no symptoms.
Kids can be carriers of the diseases, many without fever and some without cough or other symptoms.

I am very low. I don't cook, the hubs hates what I cook - I love casseroles and he want separate piles of food. I have been criticized on my cooking for decades, So i gave it up.

My parents always loved my cooking - missing those days.

I think truck stops are still open and most convenience stores/gas stations along highways do carry food.

JMO
I would not want to rely on the food sold at convenience stores. And truck stops can be pretty far apart.
