It means you are not putting it on correctly. Make sure to press it down until there's as little air space as possible and place your glasses over it.

Also, can use a bit of low adhesive tape to seal the top (I have to do this).

This is a shame for Senator Romney and his family. It's unclear why Sen. Paul, a doctor, didn't keep his distance from others while waiting on a test result.

Doctors are often the worst. They get used to being in virus-ridden situations. Of course, that doesn't excuse anyone, but tons of people are acting as if they can't be carriers.

I'd never forgive myself if I gave this virus to anyone else and in general, would feel the same way about any communicable illness. When my kids were little, I used up the 10 available sick days every single year, knowing I was a vector for flu. Each time they got sick, I stayed home - but I waited to make sure I wasn't sick too. Teachers should have the ability to stay home when they are sick and parents should get more sick leave. IMO.

Speaking of low PPE supplies, I had a conversation by text today with a nurse friend who works at our small local (Southern Oregon) hospital with 49 beds. I asked if they were preparing for coronavirus cases. She said that they are an “infection hospital” for our region. They are prepared for Ebola and are prepping for coronavirus, but like everyone else, they are low on supplies. I asked what people can do to help and she answered (quoting):

“Stay home so they don’t get sick. That really is the best way. And don’t get tested... unless you are in real distress. We are well past containing it. Now we just need to ride it out. Unnecessary testing wastes supplies.”

So there you have it...at least in our area, but I suspect in most of the U.S.
It's sad because the only reason they don't want to test is due to limited tests. Where are the tests?

And my opinion is not
Aren't all Americans entitled to the best possible care? Many people are not being tested, even when they display obvious symptoms. Many are waiting many days to receive test results that causes major and undue stress to their loved ones who don't know whether or not they've been infected. I would like there to be equity for all Americans because we are in this together. I pray daily for our leaders and the American people that G-d will see us through this global crisis.
ironically, it probably started in China as well. What happened in the US (Kansas base for military recruits) is that the virus mutated and acquired the deadly ability to unleash cytokine storm. With the recruits, it probably crossed the ocean, you are right about the rest.

No, she said it’s the limited PPE supplies that get used up for each test, not limited tests. Or did I misunderstand you? They want to hold onto their PPEs to use for those in the hospital.

Here is a FB link. I believed they are mostly centered in Washington, but they put info out on requests for other areas.

Crafters Against Covid-19 *PDX*

I was going to help sew masks, until I realized I must have tossed my sewing machine. It's been so long that I actually thought it was still in the house somewhere. (I'm not done looking yet.)

I got included. I found some interesting material, at home. meant for lapels, and also synthetic that could work well to catch particles. Asked them if they needed it.

In an earlier thread, someone posted a you tube video of Dr. Fauci being interviewed by the editor of JAMA and one topic they discussed was the possible impact of ACE Inhibitors medication for high blood pressure (such as lisinopril) on the severity of response to COVID-19 infection. For those who are interested, that part of the podcast discussion starts around the 10 minute and 24 second mark.

Interestingly, Dr. Fauci says that he doesn't think that blood pressure controlled by medication puts a person in a high risk category, but he does seem interested in more studies of the relationship between ACE Inhibitors and COVID-19.

Edited by me to clarify

Have you read the S bill? It gives $500 billion to businesses. H wants it to go to the people. Not sheer stupidity.

Honestly, smokers have a higher chance of getting a more severe form of COVID 19. However, when people are stoned, they tolerate social distancing better, i think.

The smoking part sounds reasonable, the part about social distancing while stoned I'm not so sure about.

So...no bread, eggs, flour, milk, yeast, corn tortillas, masa to make tortillas. That’s in WM, Piggly, Super 1. Small parish half an hour from Gulf. Almost expecting to see a zombie next. Time to put in spring garden.

Had a massive surplus of satsumas, Meyers lemons, pink navels, blood oranges. No one would come pick them. In laws wanted delivery to Lafayette. Snowball-hell.

Should I consider a double barrel next?

No. If you mean what I think that means. Enjoy your citrus and live well. Scurvy-free.

yes, but who measures the antibodies if they just started testing for active infection? I bet I had COVID. And I could donate plasma.
Gov Cuomo called on FDA to do seriolology (so) testing. Fingers crossed.
