"Spell says if anyone in his congregation contracts covid-19 he will heal them through God"

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.

Sounds like some people haven't evolved since the black death in 1347 where people thought the plague was the wrath of God: some of us on this planet haven't evolved very much since then.

EATONTOWN - Three more locations have begun testing for coronavirus in the Shore-area.

Central Jersey Urgent Care is testing daily at its Eatontown, Howell and Marlboro locations. Tests are currently limited to 80 patients per day at individual locations.

Only patients who have symptoms for coronavirus or who have been exposed to someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 will be tested. Patients must register online to make an appointment for the test.

The demand is high for the tests and the Eatontown location had administered its daily quota of 80 tests by 11 a.m. on Monday, according to the group.

The number of newly-reported positive COVID-19 cases rose by 80 in Monmouth County and 42 in Ocean County, officials said Monday.

There were no additional deaths reported in either county.

Statewide, 935 new positive COVID-19 tests sent the state's overall count to 2,844. There were seven more deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities in New Jersey to 27, New Jersey Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said at the state's daily briefing.

There were 249 positive cases for which the county of origin was still being investigated.

Gov. Phil Murphy gave total cases for only the top five counties. Monmouth stands at the third most with 238 cases, he said, behind Essex with 273 and Bergen with 609.

There is a video included in the link of the press conference held yesterday which was serious and sobering in nature. A plea to my community.
‘Be a hero at home:’ Charleston County leaders urge people to take COVID-19 seriously

I have a daughter in mount pleasant who works in a small deli type restaurant and they are staying open and doing orders. I am so worried for her because we know that there is a church right in our neighborhood here that has 2 positive cases, priests, who have come in contact with the parish beginning approx. March 5th. I suspect it is here for us and could be spreading so very quickly. I told my daughter to quit her job! of course she has a car payment and sky high rent- she is too loyal to her boss who I know is a good man, but not when it is on the back of my daughter. I only scare and terrify her with my dire predictions.
I am sheltering in place with my 78 yo mother.
I have another daughter in Las Vegas who I believe has this coronavirus-she was working in the casinos. She became ill last Wednesday and slept through 2 days straight and has had headache, runny nose, and dry cough still. She does not have transportation, and no medical coverage and doesn't want to go out to get tested. She is staying in and I warned her early in February about the covid19 and to prepare for the baby needs. I have a new grandson. He is 5 months old now.
I have seven children and 5 grandchildren. As you can imagine I am doing a lot of worrying and praying!
Have a good day all!

Keeping your Family and You in my prayers.

Does anyone else have moments (sometimes a whole lot more than moments...) where they are completely swamped and overwhelmed by all of this? I can’t begin to comprehend how this will end. It scares me.

Coronavirus in NJ: Up to 1,000 inmates to be released from jails

New Jersey Chief Justice Stuart Rabner late Sunday signed an order calling for the temporary release of up to 1,000 inmates serving sentences in county jails, to mitigate the risk of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Gov. Phil Murphy, at his daily press briefing on the public health emergency, said he believes New Jersey is the first state in the nation to take such a step.

It calls for the release no later than 6 a.m. Tuesday of inmates who are serving county jail terms as a condition of probation or as a result of municipal court convictions.

The ACLU said in a statement that it could affect up to 1,000 inmates statewide.

With 20,875 confirmed cases; New York about to overtake Iran (23,049 cases) in terms of reported #COVID19 burden. NY is likely few weeks ahead of some other U.S. cities. Most troubling: Cities with sizable spread that aren't yet taking good mitigation steps (New Orleans, Florida) Scott Gottlieb, MD on Twitter

DBM. There's a lot I could say....
Do not agree with the pastor! That's outrageous to me! Prayer works!!!

ETA:: Prayer works everywhere! Not just at church. Inside your house, alone, with family, outdoors, ANYWHERE even in the situation we are in (isolated). It IS needed, just stay home and do it.

MOO

Seriously. God is going to hear you wherever you are - stay home, people!

Just received a call from Ascension-Providence outpatient imaging center that my annual mammogram on April 17 has to be canceled. The hospital has suspended all non-essential medical procedures until May 1. I rescheduled for May 15.

I do...usually just before I fall asleep. I thought to myself last night, do I want to live in the world we will have left? Then I reminded myself one day at a time....I woke up feeling better, thankfully.

I definitely feel as though we don’t have the whole story - let’s face it - they’re bringing the world to a stop.

Ironically and sadly, I imagine that people feeling that anxiety and "surreal" feeling are leaving the relative safety of home to go where others are going (parks, church, etc) as a way to convince themselves that life is going on in it's usual, mundane way. Imo

My country, and my fellow citizens are bleeding! With pain, illness, fear and isolation! Money of course. But our collected and voted fellow congress peeeps cannot get their s#%$ together to help us. So very saddened, additionally frightened as well.
