.@ABC - Senior medical students at NYU informed tonight if they have met all requirements & credits they will be granted early graduation - effort to add more doctors to medical field amid coronavirus crisis, according to source with direct knowledge - first by @brief_19
John Santucci on Twitter

They must be stoked and freaked out at the same time. Unprecedented. I am sure they are capable and have a long long road ahead - as they all enter their 1 year internships before residency. Or nearly all.

I remember my ex-husband's first year of internship (it was awful, awful - in terms of hours, but also the responsibility for people's lives and this is going to be a really bumpy ride for them). Scary too, as they will all be exposed to CoVid19 in a major league way.

Blessings on those kids. They're still really young and so much in the opposite group from the Spring Break Kids.

Note that the big increases in #COVID19 in New York reflect more testing. There are other parts of the country that would be reporting similar increases if testing were widely available".
Bill Hanage on Twitter

Thank you. People are freaking out at the numbers and it’s because our governors are proactive in getting testing done. I am so thankful to live in a state where the governor puts the people first before the economy.

Remember: 1% of 300 million Americans means 3 million of us will die.

Provided requirements are met, NYU Medical School allowing students to graduate three months early to become interns and join the fight against coronavirus, per Dan Diamond at Politico.

That doesn't happen often.

The U.S.'s current mortality rate is 1.42%. In a population of 330 million people, that's 4,686,000 dead.

I don't even want to touch my mail!! It comes from all over the country. Think of how many people have touch it, sneezed on it, coughed on it, and handled it.

“The C.D.C. has advised that there is a low risk of transmission on packages,” said Matthew O’Conner, a spokesman for U.P.S. FedEx, in a statement. “The guidance from the W.H.O. is that the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low, and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, traveled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.”

With that being said, it does state in the same post:
"China’s central bank announced that it would quarantine the country’s cash, to prevent the disease from spreading from one person to another on money. The government collected bank notes from Hubei, the worst-hit province, and then sanitized the stacks of bills, either by baking them at a high temperature or bathing them in ultraviolet rays. The newly laundered cash was then kept in isolation for seven to 14 days before being rereleased into the banking system."

You’ve Got Mail. Will You Get the Coronavirus?

And I have thought a lot about the touching of monies! Good thing we have none:eek:

I don't care whose fault this is..... The bills are paid for today and tomorrow. I got food and toilet paper for today and tomorrow. I got two vehicles with full tanks of gas. There ain't nobody shooting at me or trying to blow me up in years...... I am gonna go out doing my best to smile and set a good example for those around me........ It has been a good life and I'm gonna keep on enjoying it as long as I can.....I refuse to live in fear.......moo
Class act. Thanks for moment of peace, @cody22 .

I have a theory, about the younger, healthier people who have died. I have quite a few crazy triathlon friends. They run, bike, swim, no matter what. Flu, a cold, is nothing to them, nothing can interfere with TRAINING!

So, if people who have COVID19, do start to feel better, do they over do on activities, and that sends their bodies into the "Cyclonic Storm" of antibodies, subsequent death. Just a theory.

Here in California, Governor Newsome asked us today at his daily speech. If you see a business, breaking the lockdown rules, call the business and repeat the rules to them. If they continue, call the police, they'll be paid a visit and a warning.
on the next call, the businesses electricity and water will be shut off.
at this time, this does not apply to residences.

Is it true that Kentucky and Michigan have both put in Hot-Lines to call and "snitch" on your rule breaking neighbors ?.....moo

Are you mass testing at all in California?

Cuomo needed tests, the federal government screwed that up and delayed sending tests out and when he finally got some we had to wait over a week for the CDC to confirm before Cuomo said he has private labs to do it and needed Trumps approval. They still have a problem sending tests out and that is why you don’t see numbers climbing in other states.

He would have needed WAY less tests if he would have shut down the state. It's shameful.

Anything is worth looking into. I tend to believe it is connected to more younger people being unhealthy here in the US. The obesity rates are higher with the related diseases and problems connected to that - diabetes, heart problems. Not so many get outside to exercise and eat processed and fast food. Also many younger people these days have tried vaping, even as young as high school students. Possible to be a connection to vapors and smokers.

I don't really know for sure...only that all of the above might make sense.

All MOO.

Still considered a really insignificant source of transmission. Be more concerned about conversations in the workplace or going into a room where people have congregated. The virus uses water as its medium until it hits your lungs or nose - mail is not a big concern. Damp cardboard, yes.

And, for some reason, it likes hard rather than porous surfaces. The virus lives about 3 hours sneezed out onto your mail, about 1 day on a credit card reader. Maybe longer on the credit card reader or gas pump handle or your grocery store bags that you took to the store and are reusing.

I wonder why the NY health commissioner (Zucker) didn’t buy the ventilators in 2015 when they knew they would be short in the event of a pandemic. Not just NY but a lot of other states didn’t prepare, including my state. JMO

Coronavirus government response updates: Trump wants country 'opened up' by Easter despite warnings from health experts

Prepared to respond to Cuomo's harsh criticism, Trump was handed a piece of paper from someone off camera and read it off:

"This says New York Governor Cuomo rejected buying 16,000 ventilators in 2015," Trump said. "So he had a chance to buy in 2015, 16,000 ventilators at a very low price, and he turned it down. I'm not blaming him or anything else. But he shouldn't be talking about us. He's supposed to be buying his own ventilators."

Later on, Trump said that the federal government's relationship with governors is a "two-way street," adding, "Then I hear that there's a problem with ventilators. Well we sent them ventilators. And they could have had 15 or 16,000 two years ago and all they had to do was order them. They can't blame us for that."

This just in: four FEMA Field hospitals are being set up across the State of New Jersey.

Atlantic City Convention Center, Edison's convention center, Meadowlands Exposition Center, and another undetermined location (I heard maybe around the Wall NJ area)

Coronavirus field hospital coming to Atlantic City Convention Center
AC finally. Many visits to the Convention Center for Teachers Convention weekend.. That seems to be the first center of this type in South Jersey. I know Cooper has testing available and I know of cases in some of the Inspira branches.

Trump would have had a canary if Cuomo shut down all of New York City any earlier. Cuomo didn’t get ahold of tests until about a week or so ago. Now that he has tests and they are coming back positive it’s just proof that the federal government should have shut it down a long time ago. I put no blame on Cuomo this is all the government’s fault.
In this article, it states that if a Governor of the state did a state wide shutdown, the federal government could do nothing about it. Many states' Governors have set deadlines as to when the stay-at-home order is lifted. Even if Trump pulls the national restrictions tomorrow, those states will be at the Governor's discretion of when to lift their restrictions.
Coronavirus criticisms of Trump are sickening: Devine

This is assuring to me, as long as our Governor does not end our stay-at-home restriction too soon!!

It’s a great location since it is easily accessible for those who work in the Philadelphia area.

Our county college is setting up drive-in testing so we don’t have to drive to PNC Arts Center.
