Just my opinion here, but the more I look at the data, I really do believe we’re dealing with at least two different strains - which is leading to a lot of uncertainty about what to expect. Italy is currently running at over 8% mortality rate. If true and accurate, it would be several million deaths in US if that’s the strain we’re dealing with.
Two strains would confuse all the data - they may have separate R0’s, different ways of transmission, present differently, different incubation periods, etc....
It would be an absolute nightmare for tracking and projection models.
I think they’re trying to untangle a big mess to see just where we do stand.
I’d also love to see any information that specifically states they have identified antibodies. If no antibodies present, then all recovered may still have the virus, but virus goes into remission.
Too many unknowns, and being fought based on too many ASSUMPTIONS!!
I also have to wonder what threshold is being used to determine acceptable collateral damage. Unfortunately, I believe the reality is that a fairly high percentage of deaths would have to be imminent in order for World Governments to willingly tank the world economy.
I truly believe the US would willingly absorb a certain percentage deaths in order to keep our economy going. I have no idea what that percentage would be, but I would think it would have to be pretty high. China would be even more willing to sacrifice human life for the economy.
With these considerations in mind, it’s still my opinion that there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
Thoughts???
So that leaves 330 million that are still alive. Couldn't those 330 million get back to work?
Definitely wouldn't use the nebulizer without doctor's instructions to do so. Haven't even touched the thing in years. But SHOULD it be necessary per a doctor's order, I already own one. God forbid I ever need it (knocking on every piece of wood I can find). Edited to add: I made sure to get several refills of my son's inhalers so if we are in a situation where a doctor feels a home nebulizer is our only option, then we will be in a "last resort" situation and in seriously dire straights. I won't be flippantly using a nebulizer to battle COVID-19 in my home.Be careful with the nebulizer though. Coronavirus apparently was spread in the air at the nursing home in WA partly due to use of nebulizers...before they realized they were dealing with COVID-19.
Mine was given on my upper thigh. Peds told my mom he gave the vaccine there because the scar would fade more.
I have no idea why US is allowing this. It's not like we need more corona cases.
Did it? Can you still see it?
Seems like a really quick " about face" forward march. What happened to flattening the curve? I am all about the doctors and feel they are spot on with their thoughts.
I also wonder if the numbers, charts, etc are showing it impossible to flatten the curve enough to make a difference. Meaning the length of time it will take to flatten the curve is too long for this economy to survive?
I am so confused. I know I will not be leaving the house any time soon.

I think they spread it around in a nursing home because they were using it on infected individuals. If you are using it in your home and you are not infected you presumably should be perfectly fine.I didn’t think you would be “flippantly” using the nebulizer. But if first responders weren’t aware of the danger, others like you might not be. No offense intended. Just useful information. I certainly hope it’s not necessary for your son to use it.![]()
I posted earlier about antibody studies being done for you. Those are the most recent as the results of those studies...not done as they are in progress (and to answer the basic question of "are antibodies produced"... yes... they are. IgG and IgM antibodies...again... studies underway to assess )
BBM- NOPEYes, Wal-Mart from 6am to 7am.
I ventured out this morning at 6. Five minutes into my trip to Wal-Mart I encounter a mom with 3 kids.
Just as I pass the canned tomatoes, the two year old throws up. Yeap, mom keeps shopping and I hear an employee offer to get her immediately checked out. The mom said, no thanks and kept shopping. This mom is one row behind me, as I rush to grab stuff and leave. The kid or maybe another kid throws up AGAIN. As I'm heading to the checkout, I see what appears to be a manager arguing with the mom.
I wasn't happy. I realize stores can ask customers to allow over 65 to shop special hours but can not refuse others entry.
Am I wrong to be upset with this mother who choose to put others at risk?
It did fade. Sometimes I can make it out, but usually not. He only vaccinated girls on their thigh. Boys got to have scars.
