I'm sorry for her loneliness....and quite angers me for her to be given such an unrealistic goal as Easter. The possibility of this actually happening is nil.

She knows it might not happen that fast. She said so herself. But she is happy it is even being discussed that there is an end date. She had heard talk of 6 months or more. She felt hopeless hearing that. Like she was going to die in that little apartment all alone.

Hearing about Easter gives her something to focus on. When we approach that date, we will have to prolong it, and that will be fine. She has lived through a lot in her long productive life. She knows how to persevere.

I watched the Task Force news conference a short time ago and feel much less anxious and apprehensive than I did this morning. It was very positive. Drs. Birx and Fauci are inspirational. I will no longer watch or listen to any other media coverage. Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and season finale of This Is Us tonight. Watched a cheesy Lifetime movie this afternoon. Much better for my overall health and well being Have a nice evening.

I watched Harry Potter last night : G0blet of Fire

Pretty riveting.

Pretty dark and violent movie for children.

Took my mind off of COVID-19, that's for sure.

Yes, This. The Federal government plays a supportive role. States have not properly prepared. IMO MOO

But we're all Americans, right? If now is not the time for the federal government to do its job and protect its citizenry, then when? You can rub our noses in it later, or even now. And I'm pretty sure your states will have their own issues as we move forward. But let's not allow paramedics to die. Not in any state. Certainly not in poorer states.

I remember Hurricane Katrina. Just looking through Time magazine was enough, even though I was never there myself. It's seared in my brain and makes me tear up to this day. Louisiana will always hold a place in my heart. Planning was a problem then, too. It will be a problem in other states as climate change continues. But I will never begrudge the assistance that was given *

ETA - Assistance that was far too little, far too late. The failure to help in time allowed too much suffering. We can't allow that to keep happening in our country.

In my area it's Ozempic, which is over $500/month and not covered by most people's insurance very well. People aren't able to get it.

It's just a hype to combine the "hope" of defeating this infectious disease with the story of the resurrection.

In fact, it's just exactly what a game show host or a television evangelist would come up with - using a religious event and symbology to "sell" an unreasonable and fatuous premise to the masses.

We have a loved one in an assisted living center and sent up a schedule for different relatives to call or FaceTime with her.
My brother sent her a crossword puzzle book and a jigsaw puzzle.
She told us she would open her window and talk to the lady in the apartment next to her!
We are trying everything to keep our loved ones safe but it is a struggle with anxiety and loneliness.

My parents are in their 80s and are isolated on their farm. They haven't had any visitors for 3 weeks now. I've prepared them that they need to be prepared for 12 to 18 months, until a vaccine appears. They both have underlying conditions and I've told them that I have no expectations they can survive if they get it. That was after spending 2 months trying to get them to take it serious....yeah, they believed the hoax comment. I understand completely.

I think in all fairness that anyone doing a presser needs to present clear and concise information. I don't know how this couple who dosed themselves may have processed the information. What are their cognitive abilities. Are there mental health issues etc. etc. I don't have a link at the moment but there was a person in Toronto who sadly had severe mental health issues. Due to how he processed information he set himself on fire. I understand that presenting him with facts would not have changed his mind, there are folks who function well and do not process information the way most of us do.

Is it possible that you can receive higher "doses" of the virus? for example lets say a few spores land on you, it may be that your immune system can deal with a small of exposure and give you no or very little symptoms where as if you receive a large amount of exposure to the virus, for example a nurse working around infected people all day long with poor protection could this be harder to fight off? i have no idea how this works but its just a thought that i had.
