And well they should be left out. Anyone on social security who is still getting their checks isn't losing anying. I'm in that category and my financial life has NOT been affected in any way and neither has theirs if your post tells all the facts. Why should anyone in that position get money when they are losing nothing like so many others? MOO
Your opinion is important and valid. I think differently.......They own homes, pay their local and state taxes and utilities, spend their money in their communities etc. all out of their SS checks and lifetime savings ( if any)... Opinion - Every American deserves the same stimulus check regardless of income. That would really help a lot of people out during this time and help the overall economy....moo

I truly, truly hope that if a choice has to be made between putting this moron on a ventilator or giving that ventilator to a frail senior...well, I know which person I’d want to help.
What an utter waste of a human being.

the things people will do for internet celebrity its just stupid but this feels very much like karma

Indonesian Health Ministry tweeting info with yesterday's date (Mar 17) saying that Indonesia is preparing an additional 227 hospitals for the care of #Covid19 patients because of the growing number of positive cases. Takes total number of #coronavirus 'referral' hospitals 359.

I respect your opinion as well, and love your posts. Ahem, however, people are living and paying rent/mortgages, utilities, food, whatever on the social security checks they have coming in. So far these checks have not stopped coming in, but paychecks for those who aren't able to go to their jobs any more will be shorter or nonexistent. They ARE hurting, us SS peeps are no better or worse than we were before the virus. If we could pay our bills then, we can pay them now. I don't believe we should get a "windfall".

I have 2 SILs, with families, who are now unable to go to their work. It will hurt both families badly while I'm in the same boat I always was. IF I get any money, I will gladly give it to them. As far helping the economy, we can't go anywhere or spend any money. I can't even go out to lunch and am afraid to do drive through. Any money I get will sit in my pocket/or family's until things change.

Another child of mine, living in Italy, is salaried, he isn't hurting, but he told me yesterday 600-700 people died the day before. This thing boggles my mind in more ways than one. I'm very torn, except for the money. I do not feel I deserve it. Any other time I'd GRAB what the gov't gave me, but now others need it more than I.

We will fight to save every life we can.

They aren't the only ones! I have nurse friends, who have gone to 3rd world countries and had more PPE than they have here in the US!
MOO

It is an absolute disgrace nobody should be going to their work in a hospital and be forced to put their lives at risk. Doctors and nurses are going to die in both our countries just like what is happening in Italy.

Why would paper cheques be issued instead of direct deposit? Is that the normal way people receive gov't issued cheques?
I think in this rare occasion, we will receive paper checks from the US Treasury department. They don't know the eligible recipients' current bank account information so will probably use the last address filed with the IRS to send the checks by snail mail. I of course much prefer direct deposit if I'm eligible though. IMO

Then we just disagree about the disbursement manner of the Stimulus money.....No big deal.......Take care of yourself and your loved ones during this "rough time.".......moo

Ha! My phone blew up with more than a dozen notifications, so I figured I’d put it to good use.

If the deal had not been resolved, the gains from yesterday's stock market would have completely tanked today.
