For exercise, I have been riding my bike outside. And really thinking about getting rid of my gym membership.
Is your gym even open?

My DD and her husband say they don't need the checks and will be donating them. They have some families in mind. My DD is also giving one of her employees rides to and from work. So that she doesn't have to take the bus. Every little bit helps.

Don't we have to pay them back? I'm really out of the loop regarding the relief bill.

I heard thru my local grapevine a few women are trying to organize an Easter egg hunt. WTH? See? So many consider this to be all about them & their wants & needs.
How ridiculous to plan an event outside of a family event.
All anyone needs is a gathering of kids running around looking for edibles.

@Trudie everything will be back to Normal by Easter. Everyone will go back to work. We can attend church.

April 13, 2020, this whole situation will just be a bad dream. Of course.

My gym which is council run has been great. They have frozen our contracts and payments. And given us access to 100 Les Mills work out class videos! I can't quite imagine following a class on my phone though! I must try and access them on my laptop. But I'd have to pick the classes that don't require any equipment as I don't have any. But there are lots to choose from.

That’s good to hear @Suzi Q. Every little bit helps! :)

If only, right?
Once directives are lifted, I expect a resurgence. Jmo, I’m obviously not a scientist.

Mariah Carey, Billie Eilish to headline coronavirus benefit TV special
''LOS ANGELES — Mariah Carey, Billie Eilish and Tim McGraw will headline a benefit concert on Sunday, playing from their homes, to raise money to help fight the spread of the coronavirus, Fox television said on Wednesday.

The one-hour special, to be hosted by Elton John and broadcast on Fox and iHeart radio stations, is the first major nationwide event in the United States to harness celebrity power to help those affected by the disease.

The “IHeart Living Room Concert for America” will also feature performances from Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. All of the musicians will film themselves from homes with their cellphones or other equipment.''

I actually do need this...kids in pastel, running and giggling...but no, not a good idea right now and may not happen at all.

:eek::eek: OH NO! I surely hope not!

But this just made me think of my 6 year old. Easter is 2 1/2 weeks away. Can I still order on Amazon? Off to check...

This is a fabulous idea, Lilibet, thank you!

I actually did this with at least one, maybe both, of the stimulus checks issued in 2002 after Sept. 11. I was a federal employee who had no change in income due to the events. I forwarded the money to a non-profit I support.

And in these current times, your favorite non-profits, regardless of their focus, are probably receiving many fewer donations due to the understandable redirection of funds toward immediate health and safety actions.

There is a thing called "donor fatigue" which happens during hard times where people become overwhelmed with the many calls for help, and at some point can't continue to support whatever/whoever they initially supported.

Keep that in mind as you make your decisions about how to distribute these funds, if you are in a position to not need them to keep yourselves or your family afloat.

You make a great point about “donor fatigue” @Auntie Cipation. Thanks for mentioning it! :)

Plans are for it to be held at a very large farm, way off the road, really nothing to prevent it, imo. I suppose it comes down to parents, is it worth the risk, or might it be better to host your own Easter, at your own home? Moo

I was out for another run today. Again seen lots of runners and cyclists. And everyone kept their distance! There is something nice about seeing so many use the park for exercise now. But obviously it's in terrible circumstances.
I also did some exercises at home, some sit ups, press ups, squats and lunges.
I really need to get a good routine on the go as won't be at the gym for a long time. I have my yoga mat but haven't did a sesh myself yet, I normally go to a class. But that is something I can do at home.
I know some if you may think this is trivial but exercise is really important for my well-being and lots of other people I'm sure.
What is everyone else doing exercise wise during all this?
Dancing...

There is quite a few people in their 20s and 30s dying now some with no medical conditions that I have posted in the memorial thread. It is extremely concerning. I hope younger people are starting to realise they are at risk too now.

I hope you are all coping ok.

If you live in a small village, folks could put easter egg pictures in their windows, and families with young children could go for a walk, car or bike ride to find them. People are able to be outside in our village and maintain physical distancing.
