Anybody know why this is?

Spain now has the world's second-highest tally of coronavirus deaths, after 738 more were reported Wednesday, the country's deadliest toll in one day.

With 3,434 coronavirus patients dead, Spain surpassed China's death toll of 3,285. Italy still has the most deaths of any nation in the world with 6,820.

Infections in Spain also rose 20 per cent from a day earlier to 47,610.

My plans for when this is all over and IMO it will be someday. Go off my diet for a week and hit every restaurant I can!

What restaurant food does everyone want to indulge in?

If you use Airbnb and hotels to house quarantined people, I don't want to stay there at a later date unless a deep clean is done. And we will never know for sure if it's been used for quarantined people or not. Maybe hotels and others need to list on a website that their facilities were used so we can stay away from them. It's better to not travel for the next 6 months or more.

MOO

It needs to be organized, not haphazard. Hotels need to reserve floors, or an entire hotel, for people in isolation - and of course that room, floor or hotel needs to be sanitized after each person vacates.

My son was transparent about his circumstances - international traveller required to self-isolate. Hotels said no, Airbnb said yes for the right price, knowing full well they need to clean after he leaves. If the government made arrangements, the community could reduce the risk of transmission.

He should be embarrassed. I’d be very embarrassed to be his mom,

I’m missing steak and chips with banana fritters with syrup for dessert and spaghetti carbonara with no bacon and chocolate fudge cake from my two favourite restaurants. I have tried making them at home but it’s just not the same.

I really hope the restaurants will still be around by the time there is a vaccine so I can go to them again. The staff are devastated.

Wow, some of those pictures are going to go down into the annals of history. They touch my heart.

I am happy to see mostly all of the New Yorkers in those photos wearing masks. It was very difficult for us to even start wearing them because Its just not in our society. When I went senior hours shopping on Monday I was pleased to see most of the shoppers wearing them too. I assumed since some looked like surgical masks that their doctors or retirement communities provided them and no one now looks twice at someone wearing a mask.

Job one has to be save lives

Proud to be a New Yorker! I hope my link works. Governor Cuomo has an important message for all to hear.

He must be a good man. I'm thinking that NYC must be quite a different place these days. The air must feel fresher. And it must be a lot quieter. I am interested in how the city will re-form after this. Will long term changes be made? Will people walk more? Will some streets permanently be given to foot traffic? Will taxis be allowed to drive with one hand on the horn as they have done before?

I've missed going out for brunch. I go to a place that has a vegan platter - tofu scramble, potatoes, fake bacon, fake sausage, toast, endless coffee. My stomach is growling just thinking about it. There's also a Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood I've been thinking about too. They don't do delivery or take out so they've been completely shut down.

CNN)Remember the Louisiana pastor who defied the governor's order not to hold gatherings larger than 50 people?

He held services again on Sunday, and he plans to do so yet again on Tuesday night.
On Sunday, Pastor Tony Spell said, his Life Tabernacle Church in Baton Rouge drew about 1,000 people to its services, in part by busing people in from across five parishes.

Can LE not turn the buses around, or block them from leaving where pick up point?

I certainly hope so, and LE should do so immediately.

I am very much a faithful Christian, and so are all of my family members, and dear friends. God gives us all the ability to make wise common sense decisions.

While I know millions of Christians, and all other religions feel they need their God in their lives more than ever before, we must all realize houses of worship are not the place to be now due to this pandemic.

In fact in my area which is one of the hotspots in my state they believe it started in two different churches ...where two different funerals were held. The two who first contracted it have died. It also involved one funeral home.

Our local officials have forbidden churches from being open. Instead many are viewing the services online.

The funeral homes in our area are now doing only graveside services, and its limited only to close family members.

The hospitals aren't allowing any visitors due to the hotspot concentrating in this one hospital, and its continuing to worsen with more, and more testing positive

So everyone must do their part. This Pastor is risking lives, and that is downright reeking of stupidity. Although the ones attending are also part of the problem endangering themselves, family, friends, and everyone they come in in contact with.

He needs to be shutdown immediately, and fined or even criminally charged for endangering so many.

God gives us all free will, but it's very important for He.. knows it's up to all of us to make the right choices and decisions in our life. This Pastor is making dangerous decisions, and it must stop since he seems unable or unwilling to do it himself.

Good, because being stared at is not a good feeling. Last summer, I had socks on one chilly morning, then drove to the drive in bank with socks & high wedge sandals. A couple friends texted for me to meet them for a drink, I walked into the bar totally forgetting what I was wearing, but I did get a lot of stares.
I think the shopping in my town has eased up & the stores are less busy now, which is great.
Kroger has a sign on the door not to bring returns in, if a grocery item was unsuitable, they will issue refund. Makes me wonder if our homes are actually filled with the virus germs. I’ve washed, sprayed & scrubbed every possible surface I can, other than outside. Weather permitting I’ll do patio furniture tomorrow, as well as my dog.:D

BBM I know!
My daughter was afraid to go to the pharmacy wearing a mask for fear of being ”villainized” as a “carrier”. She has been isolated for several weeks now since she is at risk because of immunosuppressants for arthritis. I assured her that mask-wear was the new chic, and her dad and I proudly wear our meager homemade masks when we venture out for food. I give virtual high fives to anyone and everyone wearing gloves and masks. I also told her to just assume we are ALL carriers, and act accordingly.
