Coronavirus COVID-19 - Global Health Pandemic #37

It's a no brainer. Grocery clerks are exposed to lots of people. And that adorable little kiddie running around touching everything while sneezing could very well be a vector.
Grocery clerks need to be given PPE like medical professionals and need to be trained on how to use PPE properly. Of course we don't have enough PPE even for medical professionals.

Pregnant women with coronavirus infection can pass it to their babies, study finds
A study of 33 pregnant women in China who were infected with the new coronavirus found that three of them gave birth to babies with COVID-19.

All three infants survived after receiving treatment for their symptoms, doctors reported Thursday in the medical journal JAMA Pediatrics.

One of those infants was delivered by cesarean section nearly nine weeks before its due date because the mother was suffering from pneumonia caused by COVID-19. ...

[...]
Obviously we won’t know the effects for a while, but I’m concerned for pregnant mothers who were infected or who become infected with Coronavirus during their first or second trimesters.

Dr. Fauci: “You don't make the timeline. The virus makes the timeline. So you've got to respond in what you see happen. And if you keep seeing this acceleration, it doesn't matter what you say. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks - you've got to go with what the situation on the ground is.”

I guess I didn't realize that only certain folks were allowed in public to shop. You know there may be good reasons why a child has to go with their parent to the store. I am raising a 9 year old autistic child. I would almost always prefer to shop alone, but I get so uneasy leaving him alone, that I usually make him go with me. While I understand the importance of all the directives, and adhering to them to the best of our abilities, you don't know the circumstances of any or all of the folks you encounter, perhaps they really just need compassion and understanding over judgment and condemnation.

imo

You have to reach out and ask for help, friends, family, neighbours, FB.
Someone to do your errands.
If you don't ask you don't get.

Prioritize.
Don't put your child at risk.

I don’t understand any parent or guardian exposing their children or anyone else, if other arrangements can be made. My understanding when schools closed, it was to keep children home/safe, and prevent transmission. Jmo maybe I missed something.
It is incredibly sad to think how many grocery workers will end up sick or dead, yet they are showing up for work. Can the public not respect them? Moo

CALIFORNIA

Families should not lose their homes because of COVID-19. Very pleased that Wells Fargo, Citi, JPMorgan, and US Bank have agreed to a 90 day grace period for mortgage payments for those impacted by #COVID19.
A big sigh of relief for millions of CA families.

My other daughter just got deployed (she’s a nurse) and going to New York.
